LOST's Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn To Work ODD JOBS For The Abrams Gang?
Merrick here...
Seems Team Abrams is now shopping ODD JOBS to networks.
The project would evidently find Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn (respectively Benjamin Linus and John Locke on LOST) as two former Black Ops agents in a comedy/drama.
In the ramp up to the ending of LOST, O'Quinn obliquely referred to speaking to J.J. Abrams about a show involving two suburban hitmen dealing with real world issues, or something to that effect. At this point, it seems a safe presumption that ODD JOBS is the same show he was talking about a few months back.
THIS piece at Vulture goes into a touch more detail, saying that Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (ALIAS alumni who are scripting
the Abrams' produced MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE IV) are also involved.
A few days ago we learned that PERSON OF INTEREST, from Abrams and Jonathan “Jonah” Nolan (THE DARK KNIGHT, PRESTIGE) was placed at CBS.
More on both projects as we know more...

...hopefully it won't be an exact clone.
-
Emerson and O'Quinn have great chemistry as a duo.

I think I just came in my pants

This might just be the greatest television rumor of all time. Thank you

"... (ALIAS alumni who are scripting the Abrams' produced MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE IV) are also involved"<p>The same Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec that are responsible for some of Hercules' most despised shows in recent years (October Road, Life on Mars, Happy Town)? Will his Abrams/O'Quinn/Emerson love be able to overcome his disdain for the Dramedic Duo?
-
My eyes would detach themselves from my face.
-
I'm never ever again watching anything penned by those two.
-
Throw in Holloway & Garcia as well and you had the four actors that worked the best together as an ensemble.
-
Terry is from Baltimore having lived in Reisterstown where I reside now for years suppsoedly he has returned. You can use Bmore, DC, Not far from NY or Philly and Maryland could pretty much be anywhere, We have Beaches and Mountains as well as Farm Land. Just a thought. This sounds awesome.
-
count me in. :)
-
What they did to Locke was criminal and Lost went downhill like a ferret on rollerskates after that.
-
Someone green light this shit now.
-
...with different names. But I bet the dynamics are very similar.
-
then they go and do this kind of stuff.
-
Do you mean Lindelof and Cuse?
-
would be hilarious if it became really successful and Emerson and O'Quinn were known mainly for this show. Then Lost would be known as the shitty show they did before this one.
-
Stacktrace or gtfo
-
They're stuck at an airport and have absolutely no idea how to get home.
-
I loved it! While not perfect, it makes total sense to me.
-
I will watch the fuck out of this show!
-
O'Quinn and Emmerson made LOST's last three seasons bearable. They play so well off each other so I'm excited that they may work together again and so soon!
-
Since every other show on TV is his now anyway, might as well his give him his own network. (Sorry for the triple post)
-
Those two are awesome in whatever they do. Bring it on!!!
-
add Lee Tergesen and J.K. Simmons as another pair of spies
-
Yes, they're good actors, but there are better things to do than piggy-backing off of past successes. MacLachlan didn't want to get typecast as Agent Cooper back in the day, and it's exactly things like this that are the reason why.
-
What I can't believe is how they fucked over the whole Ben and Widmore thing which could have been awesome. The scene where Ben goes to see him in London was pure gold and what Lost should have all been about, NOT the stupid 'mother' and 'light' of the island. They would have been better off giving NO island answers and just focussing on the best characters. Michael Emerson and Alan Dale worked great together yet both were screwed over with the material. Terry O'Quinn was single-handedly the best thing about the second half of the (crap) season 5 and the (mostly crap) season 6 after they had fucked Ben's character.

Since they did such a good job utilizing Locke and Ben on lost
by Guy Who Got A Headache And Accidentally Saves The World
Maybe get someone with a fucking clue running the show this time? I hear David Fury is available
-
Somebody needs to get Henry Ian Cusick back on TV ASAP.
-
AKA Dr. Pierre Chang. For some reason, I could see him playing a recurring role as a character who's their former boss.
-
Someone get this guy work now, was brilliant. <p> But O'Quinn and Emerson were phenomenal as well, but like any actor he needs good people around him, with Lost they had some brilliant writers and directors, need the same here. Additionally this is going to have a comedy aspect and Emerson and O'Quinn were at their best in the drama emotional stuff. Rewatched the episode Dr Linus recently (probably the 5th time have watched that episode) and Emerson is just so good, that scene with Ilana when he mentions that he will go with Smokey because no one else would have him, is one of the best deliveries and scenese I have seen on Tv this year. <p> I think Aaron Paul really deserved his Emmy he has a lot more chances to shine than say Emerson
-
Emerson and O'Quinn in a retired Black Ops guys with the tone of something like Breaking Bad could be the greatest thing ever.
-
TOQ has always been, and ME had a coming out as Ben. But to have them work together again so soon would just reek of sameness, if not baggage. The comparisons might be too much to overcome.
-
on the air for once. Lord knows there aren't many left. Caan was pretty funny, the Jack Lord replacement was a plank of wood but good in the action scenes, though. Would have preferred someone like Tia Carrere or Kelly Hu for the female lead though, or at least someone who actually has some curves.
-
As you were, gentleman.
-
miss those 2
-
I have noticed the lack of action shows. its all crime dramas, med dramas and whatever you call one tree hill. and there is a lack of kick ass action heroines. these days.
-
Has said he's settled in Hawaii now as his home. So I would expect the best chance to see him again would be an arc on Hawaii 5-0. They'd be stupid not to use him.
-
i am glad that you and I agree that season was awful.
-
..and i bet this would be too! man, i hope this really happens, i'm going through lost deprivation and this sounds like it could be my cure!!
