Hey folks, Ambush Bug here. Before we take a spin on the old Spinner Rack to the Future, I wanted to direct you guys over to the cool folks at AmityInk.com who wrote a nice piece on my upcoming NANNY & HANK #1 comic which should be in stores in a week or two. The book is getting a lot of critical acclaim, but was criminally under-ordered, so you might want to do yourself a favor and tell your Local Comic Shops that they may still be able to order the book this week (order #JUN100824). Check out what folks like Fangoria.com, Rue Morgue, Horror Movies & Stuff, Broken Frontier, Comics Bulletin, Calliopes Realm, and AICN’s own superhero are all talking about by clicking on the cover and checking out the preview then tell your LCS that they can still order it!

Finally, we have a fan-frikkin-tastic Youtube preview from NIGHT OF THE LIVING TREKKIES. This is a new release from Quirk Books, the house who brought you PRIDE PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES and if this preview is any indication, it’s going to be a helluva lotta fun. The preview was sent to me and written by one of the madmen behind the upcoming BERONA’S WAR Vol. 2, Mr. Opie Cooper who didn’t write the book, but was asked to come up with a trailer of original material for the piece. I’m definitely checking out NIGHT OF THE LIVING TREKKIES when it’s released. Check out the preview below to see what I mean…

Hey all, Ambush Bug back again with another clickable delight from the wide and wild world of webcomics. Fellow @$$Hole Optimous Douche passed this one on to me. OD reviewed THE NEW BRIGHTON ARCHEOLOGICAL SOCIETY a while back. Now they’re releasing a page every weekday on their website here. Check out OD’s positive review of the book here and then check back to THE NEW BRIGHTON ARCHEOLOGICAL SOCIETY’s webpage to see what all the hubbub is all about.

    Darkwing Duck is looking EPIC.

    by NinjaRap

I'm serious right now. The crossover with the DuckTales universe (which was always there in the show, of course, but is done with more detail in this comic than usually seen in the show) and the placement of Gosalyn into a more logical superhero identity than her annoying "Quiverwing Quack" character? Plus, of course, the return of the most seriously threatening the villian the show had - the sadly underused Taurus Bulba. Can you tell I was a huge dork for this show back in the '90s? Despite my dorky fandom, it was really all over the map, but this comic seems like it's capturing the best parts (so far anyway).

I implore everyone to seek out The Unwritten

    by mutombo

It is the most awesome thing since Sandman and Fables. Get past the first issues where, yes, it looks like it's another different take on 'Fables' combining the Harry Potter franchise to tell a story, but a few issues further it tackles how you look at a story, how stories shape the world, shape meaning and how mass consciousness exists through the art of fine, er.. stories, for lack of a better word.

...So calculatingly commercial and insipid it makes me want to throw up my brains.

Mutumbo, I just picked up the first two trades of the Unwritten

    by Detective_Fingerling

hope to get to it today at some point. I've also just picked up Locke & Key (which I love), and Nightly News. And yes, Darkwing Duck looks freakin awesome.

    NOTLT trailer

I can't say I learned much about the comic from that, but I'd watch the movie :) Like the little touches like the name of the reporter.

What have I been doing with my life. I thought Darkwing Duck was killed off by Donald like fifteen years ago. Shit, I need to catch up.
