In Talks To Join Fox Sci-Fi
Adventure TERRA NOVA??

The same day we learn of showrunner David Fury’s exit from “Terra Nova” comes word from Deadline Hollywood that actor Stephen Lang (“Avatar,” “Conan”) is in talks to join the series as Frank Taylor, “the charismatic and ruthless leader” of a group of time-traveling humans who escape from a dying future Earth to the planet’s dinosaur era.
As the Dealine piece points out, Lang's character in "Avatar" and Lang's intended character in "Terra Nova" were probably born within five years of each other.
Jason O’Mara (“Life On Mars”) has long been cast as a newcomer to the Terra Nova colony, a former cop Taylor hopes to recruit for his prehistoric security team. Allison Miller (“Kings”) was recently cast as a veteran of the Terra Nova colony.
Fox airs the first “Terra Nova” episode in May; the series launches the following autumn.

Average ratings, because they won't be able to decide if its a kids show...a mid season break for a month or so, ensuring that everyone forgets about it...and then a cancellation cos ratings are so bad for something so expensive...who's in agreement?!

Seriously, if you can find it on vhs, it's great- miami vice era michael mann, hysterical clothes, great music, a scaldingly hot young Lauren Holly, and Stephen Lang as a native american former special forces soldier who wears a rambo bandana and kicks ass. the film is ridiculous, but he is just so cool in it. I've loved this guy ever since i saw that as a kid, always thought he (like Bruce Greenwood)never got the respect he deserves. Seems to dissapear into every role...it was years before I realized that was him as Ike in tombstone, and he acted opposite Seagal in fire down below and took it seriously, not an easy thing to do. BTW, he would RULE as Steranko style Nick Fury.

I agree with Skimm...this sounds a bit like a mix between "The Sound of Thunder (which was a shitty movie based on a terrific short story by Ray Bradbury!)...the shitty old NBC TV show "Earth 2" (What a waste...just as bad if not worse than Seaquest DSV!!) and a bit like "Land of The Lost"....just my personal opinion

I was rooting for him to win. Cameron will struggle to cast someone better than him in the inevitable sequel.

Not really my thing. I never went in for those late 80s sandanista movies or whatever the hell they were. It was always like Colombians selling drugs and "the street" and people in camouflage wife-beaters. Yeah that's how much I remember it. They all blend together. lol</p> <p>Really if you saw him for the first time in AVATAR check him out in CRIME STORY, the tv show, or in a small role in TOMBSTONE. Right now, he must be making a cash grab and I don't blame him. But he's a better actor than what this sounds like and what his role in AVATAR was.</p>

big Arnold. He'd be great as the corporate head of the RDA (the exploitative mega-conglomeration in the film) back on Earth. He can have an 'evil' avatar created for his own personal, nefarious uses, and it would be a clever spin on Arnold's real life role as The Governator.<p>Also, Avatar haters - you will never live down the shame of being wrong. Ever.
