Rest In Peace Glenn Shadix
Hey guys. Quint here with some sad news.
Great character actor Glenn Shadix (real name William G. Scott) died on Tuesday at the young age of 58. Word is he fell and hit his head.

Shadix is one of those people that puts a smile on my face every time I see them pop up. I knew him mostly as Otho, the New York interior decorator from hell in BEETLEJUICE, but also loved him in HEATHERS, DEMOLITION MAN, CARNIVALE and, of course, as the voice of the Mayor in NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
With a twinkle in his eye and an enthusiastic delivery Shadix had an unmistakable presence. The dude wasn’t a chameleon, but his personality was such that he didn’t need to disappear in every role.
Glenn kept an active blog with a ton of his photography (where the picture from this article come from) which can be reached here.
A memorial service will be held at the Covenant Community Church (2205 3rd Street N.E. Center Point, AL 35213) Sunday, September 12th at 2pm.
My thoughts are with Mr. Shadix’s friends, family and fans.

Loved him in Demolition Man
-
as the building super fighting with the other super when Elaine was trying to move into Jerry's building - was wondering if AICN would mention him - RIP Otho!
-
What was wrong with him prior to his death? I read that he had been wheelchair bound for the last few years, but never saw why.

...dude looks and talks EXACTLY like Shadix. Of course he has no idea we refer to him as such. Yeah... we're a bunch of bastards. Anyway, RIP Real Otho.

-
a great and funny man who will be missed. Check out his site, he has some great behind the scenes pics from Beetlejuice and Demolition Man!
-
Truly a sad day - he was great in everything he was in, always bringing something new and vibrant to the character - I especially loved him as the Pastor in ' Heathers '. RIP SHADIX
-
I was lucky enough to know Glenn and to call him friend. He was always a joy to be around and could entertain for hours with his stories of growing up in Alabama and working in film. I will miss my friend.
-
Well, that's a shitty way to exit... anyway to word that a little more... I don't know, respectful :(

You give this guy an obit but you skip guys like
by Grammaton Cleric Binks
McMahon, Disney, and John Quade. This is so wrong. Maybe this is part of AICN's "open and affirming" policy. Seriously what is wrong with you guys.

RIP... sad loss, and a sad way to go...

Rest in Peace, Mr. Shaddix. You brought joy to CHOPPAHdom.
-
I always liked the guy in everything he did. Even when he played the gluttonous orangutan in Burton's Planet of the Apes remake.
-
But he was one of those actors who improved whatever movie he was in.
-
such a shame. always good when he popped up in a film.

Harry sort out this auto playing Black Lightning tailer.
-
I don't know anything about him, but I can see in his look, that he has a kind soul:) Sounds kind of cheeky, but it's just the way it is... Cheers, Darren http://movienews.pipeno.com/
-
He's an Alabama boy like me!
-
Just kidding. RIP. He was a funny guy.
-
Watched that again recently. The first hour is still really good. But I had forgotten how much it descends into a big-budget A-Team episode by the end...rather dull extended shootouts with clunky editing. I guess that marked the moment where Alec Baldwin's destiny lay in movies that were more about comedy than action, for much of the next decade.
I was so hopeful when It's Complicated came out that it heralded the return of both Baldwin and Martin as genuinely comedic guys. But it was a false dawn for both.
-
Thanks for the good times.
-
RIP, sir. As others have said, you were always a bright spot in your films.
-
I read about it on Tuesday.
-
the news minute by minute. First I'd heard about.
-
He was awesome in Carnivale and Beetlejuice. "Deliver me from L.L. Bean." RIP Mr. Shadix
-
I had the great fortune to interview Glenn Shadix on 2 occasions for my radio show, "Flashback". Sadly, my second interview with Glenn proved to be his final interview. Glenn was a terrific guy who turned into a friend after the first interview I did with him. RIP Glenn. You will be missed. http://blog.blogtalkradio.com/celebrities/glenn-shadix-19522010-comic-gem-hoped-role-rob-pattinson-final-interview/

You got a special place in my heart. RIP.
-
You made some of my favorites: Beetlejuice, Demolition Man and Nightmare Before Chrismas.
