Nicolas Winding Refn is rounding up a killer cast for his U.S. studio debut.
The director of the well-worth-watching PUSHER trilogy, BRONSON and VALHALLA RISING has just added MAD MEN's Christina Hendricks to the cast of DRIVE. Based on a novel by James Sallis, the film will star Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a wheelman in the L.A. criminal underworld. When a particular job goes down twisted, he's forced to protect the endangered girlfriend (Carey Mulligan) of an ex-con.
Hendricks's role in the action film is not specified, but she'll be joining the estimable likes of Bryan Cranston and Albert Brooks. Here's hoping she gets some sack-time with Brooks, whose hirsute lovemaking technique has been sadly missed since MODERN ROMANCE.
Marc Platt (SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD) and a lot of other people are producing.
