Nicolas Winding Refn's DRIVE Hits Some Dangerous Curves!

Published at:  Sep 09, 2010 1:12:51 PM CDT

Beaks here...

Nicolas Winding Refn is rounding up a killer cast for his U.S. studio debut.

The director of the well-worth-watching PUSHER trilogy, BRONSON and VALHALLA RISING has just added MAD MEN's Christina Hendricks to the cast of DRIVE. Based on a novel by James Sallis, the film will star Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a wheelman in the L.A. criminal underworld. When a particular job goes down twisted, he's forced to protect the endangered girlfriend (Carey Mulligan) of an ex-con.

Hendricks's role in the action film is not specified, but she'll be joining the estimable likes of Bryan Cranston and Albert Brooks. Here's hoping she gets some sack-time with Brooks, whose hirsute lovemaking technique has been sadly missed since MODERN ROMANCE.

Marc Platt (SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD) and a lot of other people are producing.

But loooove Christina Hendricks. Kept one eye on her since she was Ms. Mal Raynolds in Firefly. One smokin example of how hot a redhead can be (when she's not covered in Alien Nation-like splotches like Lindsay Lohan)

    I Read The Book

    by cobbio

It was a funky story with some wild ideas and characters thrown in at breakneck speed. The movie script almost writes itself.
I have no idea if Nicolas Refn's going to hit a home run with this, but I'm hoping he'll at least smack a triple. Casting Christina Hendricks is a great move in that direction. Because in addition to inhabiting those famous curves, she's a terrific actress who'll bring A LOT to whichever smarmy backlot character she's given.
I mean, there are scenes where crews are shooting movies, so maybe she'll play one of the on-set movie stars?
Hoo boy, if that's the case.
I'm definitely looking forward to this film.

    by badmrwonka

she's a hot redhead with huge breasts. people need to stop congratulating hollywood for finally valuing a real woman, blah blah blah. this woman is a knockout, she's not some plane jane that got by on amazing acting chops rather than just being stunning with a gigantic chest. she's not skinny, sure. but it's amazing how far magazines and articles will bend, trying to justify shoving her huge tits at their readers and pretending she's the antidote to some traditional hollywood blah blah blah. I hate the anorexic trend in fashion and movies as well, but let's not pretend this woman is representing much except for gigantic tits. she's not Kathy Bates.

    Good Points, Wonka

    by cobbio

But I generally don't think of Hendricks in that Hollywood context. To me, regardless of profession, she's just hot. Gorgeous, intelligent, and jaw-droppingly curvy.
The fact she can act so well only increases her appeal. I remember seeing her first few minutes on "Firefly," and was like, "Holy shit, who's that?"
And she hasn't disappointed. Almost effortlessly she's stepped up and done her thing, winning a few awards in the process.
So I would say she's more than just "gigantic tits."
A lot more. The size (and amazing shape) of her tits centers her appeal, I agree, but she's the total package.
She's not simply a hot chick with marginal acting skills, more an extremely good actress who happens to be hot and endowed.
It's not a package that happens very often. Thus I enjoy what she brings to the table.

I was only speaking about her physicality. I think she's a great actress. I was just commenting on how congratulatory people are about her body. Look how many people above are like, "See, Hollywood? This is how a real woman looks!" Really? Ever been to a supermarket? See many Christina Hendricks's?She's a buxom, hollywood actress. just because she's not Keira Knightley, doesn't mean she's any more of a "real woman". she's still in the top .05% of humanity in terms of attractiveness. and when people imply that Hollywood is somehow being gutsy by allowing her to have success, it's ludicrous. she's a red-headed Jayne Mansfield, for fuck's sake!

    Dacascos' Drive follow-up

    by baryonyx

There's a cool bit of news just out that Mark Dacascos (who has just finished a movie called Song Of The Knife) is teaming-up with Drive director Steve Wang to make a new sci-fi actioner, maybe in 3D, called Man Of Action. I can't wait to see Dacascos kicking ass in three dimensions! Here's a link to the news: http://twitchfilm.net/news/2010/03/mark-dacascos-returns-to-martial-arts-action-in-song-of-the-knife.php

    by ronindice

I think I would marry her and my girlfriend would let me as long as she gets a piece too. Plus she is a terrific actress. A nude scene would be almost too much. How amazing would they be? I cannot imagine. Her breasts may be even bigger than Harry's! And my bet would be they are much nicer.

Also Mark Dacascos' Drive was RAD! Some great martial arts in a crap movie equals a good time for me.

PS- The_CHOPPAH sucks on his own chopped off penis. Just thought I would get him started.
