Wanna see CAPTAIN AMERICA on a WWII Motorcycle? Giggle!
Hey folks, Harry here and god I'm anxious to see this film next year. That we have a 60's era X-MEN movie and a 1940's WWII CAPTAIN AMERICA movie... it is killing me. Now the pictures you see at this link and on this page are of the CAPTAIN AMERICA double - most likely to be seen at a distance in the final film - or making use of Digital Face replacement - or some manner of trickery or wizardry... From what I know this is most likely from the second half of the film and I just can't wait to see what Cap and this Motorcycle do in the film. Click here to see all the images! and even more here including some HYDRA looks!

He looks like he has a receding chin. But I'm sure it's just from the strap. Can't wait for this.
-
His face is clearly not human.
-
tight
-
...but the rest is suspect. I'll have to see a better shot.
-
Just noticed the wings on the helmet. And that fucking shotgun. That's a two-handed weapon, Cap.
-
I knew they'd paint some on there
-
i kinda dig the costume has the retro 40s feel
-
It's coming out next year and they are still casting and haven't shoot a foot of film. Yeah, it should be great....
-
this looks horrible.
I'm so excited to see Cap on the big screen but there is just something fundamentally wrong in that "geek dressed up at comic con" wrong way. -
on the front wheel?
-
Now you are giggling in the headline. You giggle one more time and I swear I'll slap you. Anyways, not too impressed with the costume in that picture, the shoulder pad kinda ruins it.
-
Im not worty!!!
-
That looks like the coolest cap costume ever made by a 37 year old living in his mother's basement... just explain it as chain mail and the pants are tights... not everything has to be grounded in reality, the daredevil uniform didn't need to be leather, and Cap doesn't need shoulderpads like he's on designing women
-
I'll be there
-
If you look at the close up photos you will see very much a old school version of the costume. We will see if this is Wolfman or more Rocketeer.
-
I personally hope it's more Hidalgo then Rocketeer.
-
Utterly horrific.
-
Bucky is in fact a double agent...
-
Everything looks a bit too clean.

I agree on the clean, but now a days you can vintage with digita
by namorita
So I will hope for e Rocketeer too.
-
I can live with that.
-
I thought the original cap only used his shield and some items he had on his belt. Did he have a gun too?
-
looks like craaap.
-
What...did he lose a hand in the war? He's got two hands right? I mean he is driving a motorcycle with both his hands right now right? What am I missing here?

American Choppers.

Why does Captain America have the Honda (wings) logo painted on
by duluoztripping
Is he secretly working for the Japanese? This is complete bullshit. Fucking turncoat, I knew they would ruin this.
-
.....that the article headline was advertising an AICN contest where the winner gets to view the film CAPTAIN AMERICA while sitting on a WWII motorcycle that the studio will provide. Yes, I probably am the only idiot.
-
okay, people, can anyone honestly say this looks legit. is he wearing painters pants??? what is this? this is jar jar bad. me sa thinks we gots a BUST. crossing fingers for thor and everything else comic related.
-
This really doesn't look much better that the aforementioned 1970s TV version starring the awesome Reb Brown (who kicked ass in "Uncommon Valor.")
-
This better be in the second half of the film. Is he's super and all captainy within the first half of the film then they rushed the story and this is going to suck.
-
Harry maybe excited but this looks like shit and the new x-men idea is just stupid.
I'm seeing EPIC FAIL for both of these.
I can't believe the costume looks so much like plastic. Marvel films are on the slide for sure. -
its a spy photo, dudes not a still
-
That photo sucks ALL KINDS of ass. That said, the Hydra "steampunk car" looks pretty cool (the second link).
-
...wings.
-
they will no doubt be selling costumes-in-a-bag of this costume, which actually looks like a homemade costume.
-
That looks retarded
-
looks like something you'd put together yourself for halloween. I get they're trying to make it fit the time, but at least give him a costume that doesn't look like they just dyed regular issue army fatigues blue and red
-
agreed. don't know what good those light guards are, but looks good. red skull's, or hydra?
hope these are all going to be far shots, cause all those suits are baggy and fake looking....that's been said enough already though. liking cap's bike. looks like he's losing a saddle bag in one shot...don't know how the machine guns on the forks work...no clearance for firing mechanisms. just barrels...with a tube leading to an ammo can....lol -
I know about insurance issues and stuff for actors but as long as the dude isn't jumping ramps of fire over nazi blimps, I think he'd be alright.
-
I love the costume's overall design, but the fabric choice is a bit odd. It looks like reflective plastic. I'm not sure why they didn't opt for leather or something. I'm guessing some digital post-filming work would fix the problem, but still. . .I can't quite shake the feeling that the choice of fabric makes the costume a bit more silly than it should be.
-
"Better step on it. Unfortunately, I'll have to skip the antique Harley show today!"
-
I have been seeing this image for a couple hours before this post. No offense but, it's been mentioned that this is a stunt double. No doubt the bike looks right for the time.
-
It bothers me for reasons I can't explain. Just please stop.
-
he wore that exact, precise outfit to Comic-Con this year for the Scott Pilgrim panel. Check for yourself. Google it. I say it's Cera in picture as well! He's chasing after Ramona Flowers on a vintage Harley with a rifle at the ready!
-
Harry giggling bothers you because you picture his body rippling while he hides behind his hands like a geisha girl. You know this to be true.

by steepdog1
yes he has no chin, and looks like a janitor in a Captain america costume... because he is a stunt double, not Chris evans...and this was taken with a photographer's camera and is not a still from the movie... the guy you are looking at is meant to be seen much farther away and moving much faster. So yeah, he's gonna look off... but its a good teaser of what we are going to get.
-
Looked at the other pics.... gheez whiz it looks fucking awful.
-
What we will see on Chris evans in close ups...this may be som flame-retardant motorcycle stunt type stuff... looks a lilttle wind-breaker-ish to me.
My only real complaint is the boots etc, are too brown...I'd like to see them a little more reddish. Don't have to be bright red but US's colors aren't Brown White and Blue. -
Sadly I bet that some form of what you just said will be used at some point in some trailer for this movie. sigh.
-
Is it *that* hard to design a costume that looks like it was made in the 40s? What the fuck is with the shoulders?
The audience isn't *that* stupid; give him an old-timey uniform in the 40s, and a new-timey one when he joins the Avengers. Jesus. -
I mean, first off, they're spy pics. Even Iron Man looked a bit goofy in those first amateur pics & videos. Plastic even. Second, we're not getting a look at Evans in costume. We're only seeing his pudgy stunt double. Third, we've gotta see that bitch in motion. The still frames of Nightcrawler from X2 were ass. In motion, it was a thing of beauty.
My only real complaint, and maybe it has more to do with stunt issues, is the actual fit of the costume. It seems pretty damn oversized, even on Jabba the Butt here.
I too had a Rebb Williams flashback looking at this costume. However, given the design, it does look a little more "period" appropriate than disco inspired. If they can top the visuals off with a large orchestral score, with some big band thrown in, they just might actually be able to sell it.
Admittedly, I chuckled my ass off in disbelief and disappointment when I opened the pics. Now, on second look, it's not so bad. I think the choice of fabrics isn't as spot on as in other Marvel movies, or the Rocketeer, but I think that I'm just being nit-picky. They wouldn't have had materials in the 40s.
The problem is... Can you sell this to the average Joe? Fans may totally dig this once they get over the initial shock, but non-fans might dismiss it off the bat.
I'm waiting for the 1st trailer and a good look at the Red Skull. Fuck up Skull and that's a deal breaker for me. The Hydra designs look to be a nice step toward the positive, even if they do look a little GI Joe-ish. -
On Hugo Weaving as the Skull:
Hugo Weaving has been in the Red Skull effect, in costume for a couple of weeks now and it’s a hell of a lot of fun ... and a rather frightening villain. -
And the bike and costume are just the latest in the Orange County Choppers custom theme-bike line.
-
especially the weird bikes.
-
The wings look cool and I'm glad they had the balls to keep em even if only painted on the side. The costume overall looks a little over thought. I really hope the fake abs are just for the stunt double and the shoulder pads are a bit much. Why does the perfect human specimen need shoulder pads? Yeah, The Comedian had them but Captain America's not The Comedian. He doesn't need shoulder pads. His shoulders should just be that broad on their own. It just looks silly.
-
Sigh, I'm sure he won't be wearing that suit in the Avengers. Thank ODIN!

I understand not wanting to make it spandex - but there's a point where you exceed making it "work" for the audience and you enter the realm of just pissing on something to make it yours.

is fail. looks like shit
-
It's a STUNT COSTUME. FOR STUNTS. It probably has padding in it. It will only be worn for shots that are SECONDS LONG. Did nobody read the text, or am I taking crazy pills?
-
its all you fuckers do on here is rip apart every single little detail. Clearly this is a stunt man wearing a stunt suit. Not a hero outfit..(meaning one meant for close up shots)
Honestly It looks fine to me. How about we all do ourselves a big favor, shut the fuck up and wait to see the movie next year, that way if you have a legitimate intellgent reason to bitch and moan, you can!
Until then, shut the fuck up it looks fine!
-
Watch out Boss Hogg!
-
This is gonna be awesome!!
Haters are already talking shit. Of course it looks ass, look at the guy! He's fat! Chris Evans.. is not.
And the costume to me looks like not the real deal. It looks airbrushed on so I guess it'll look neat from far away as intended.
The HYDRA soldiers look awesome!! And he has wings. Look like he painted them off himself. Nice touch. I also like the bullet ricochets on the shield. Woo hoo! -
Until I see actual rolled and professional footage of this film would I even think to formulate an opinion on how I feel about the costume. I see the colors are right, I see it pretty much matches the mock up that was recently released and I see that it's pretty much what I'd expect from a live Cap movie (last I checked the comic cap is in much tighter and even more unbelievably inappropriate super hero attire.) I bet Producers/Directors lurk on here and just wonder why to even bother attempting to shoot movies for anyone over the age of 12.

I'm sure this will look a bit different (better) in the film. Although I think it looks fine as-is, honestly. And I'm glad they gave a nod to the helmet wings. The enemy vehicles look really cool, too!

Thanks. You saved me from having to say it. Obviously just a printed representation of the actual costume to fit over his protective gear. The actual movie suit won't give you any protection whatsoever in a tumble.
-
I expect the stunt double's version to be crap, but the real deal will look as horrible as the 3D art. Sad, considering how beautiful the Rocketeer costume looks close up (it's on display at the SciFi Museum in the EMP in Seattle). Making the red stripes into straps was a pointless idea, and the space between them is too wide; it doesn't resemble the flag. That and the brown gloves and boots...apparently, Cap is embarrassed by the colors of the flag.

by ash talon
For being a site for film lovers, I'm constantly amazed at how little people on this site know nothing about the filmmaking process.
It's a stuntman's costume. It doesn't have to look 100%. You'll see it a.) from a distance and b.) for only quick shots. It has to protect the stuntman in case..you know...a stunt goes wrong.
I actually feel bad for Marvel, since they obviously would have preferred to release an official photo of the actual "hero" costume with Evans in it. Of course, maybe they'll release one soon to counter this leak.
I think the Nazi bike logo is a Red Skull. Probably a logo/symbol for his unit. -
anybody expected a 1940's super-hero to look like. Nor does it seem anyone here is a fan of The Ultimates. Anyway... I like it. So sue me.
-
... not great, on lots of levels.
Makes the Thor stuff look fucking amazing. Can't win 'em all. -
i think during the credits, EVERY single person who 'played' a character should be listed. in this scene, chris evans is NOT captain america, the stunt man IS. so i think the credits should read 'captain america - chris evans, [stuntman 1, stuntman 2, etc.] cause no matter what, during this chase in the flik, this guy is captain america.

That looks like shit, it looks like its made from the same material you would find on a kids Halloween costume, YUCK that thing is ugly.

-
I was about to post the exact same response. Reading some of the posts on this talkback, you'd think that nobody had ever seen a "Making Of" feature on DVD before. Stunt costumes often look only superficially like the real "Hero" costume. Why? Because safety has to come before everything on a movie set. Just ask John Landis, Alex Proyas and, recently, Michael Bay what happens when it doesn't. Even the material of the costume (including the shoulder pads) would be chosen to provide maximum protection for the stuntman. If it's being shot from a distance or is intended for a night sequence, you'd likely never be able to tell the difference once it's cut in with the rest of the film. And as far as colors are concerned, there's this thing called "color correction" that films go through as part of the post-production process. Maybe some of you have heard of it. Color correction can make the finished result look completely different from what you'd see from a quickie digital camera shot. So relax. BTW, I'm happy to see that Cap is carrying a Thompson .45 sub-machine gun in addition to his sidearm. It's just what you'd expect an officer to carry. Ordinarily, it would be a two-handed weapon, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Cap firing it with one hand. And to anyone who says that Captain America shouldn't have firearms of any kind, ask yourself this question. If you were a World War II grunt (or even a modern one), would you follow ANYONE into battle who was unarmed? Remember, this is an origin story. Cap probably isn't a legend yet through most of the film.

oh, and is the movie called "First Avenger: Captain America" or?
by tall_boy66
Just "Captain America" or "Captain America: The First Avenger"? I think it's the last one.
-
Its on a stunt man for a fly by scene, you are never supposed to get a good look at it in the film.
On the other hand, if this is indeed how the costume will feature on Chris Evans then we have a serious problem indeed. The costume that was used in the 80s (?) film was more right although suffered serious padding issues :)
At the moment I'm a slight bit under whelmed with my wanting to see this which is really annoying as I've been a staunch comic fan for almost all my life, I've lived and breathed Marvel & DC.
I do hope it's not going to be an Evans corny joke fest, Steve Rogers was the product of a serious regime and was battled hardened and trained to be the perfect soldier, if we then see him doing nob gags I'll be extremely pissed off. -
Well, as many have said this is obviously a stunt costume, extra padding, and extra give in the clothing for manoeuvrability and so on, these are also unprocessed shots from what’ll probably be a digital SLR so really have no context – so the real costume will likely be much better on film.
As to the comment about these bikes etc not looking vintage – well, to be honest, they wouldn’t as they’d be new.
As for the comments about Chris Evans not even being able to ride a bike etc – well it goes beyond insurance issues. All big action movies will have first and second Units so that while Joe Johnston is doing those pesky close up and dialogue scenes the second unit director can go and film long shots with stuntmen.
-
I'll be passing on this one...
-
Well, honestly, I just hope this leads to a JSA movie--that's really the only Super hero movie I want to see anyway.
-
That costume looks like shigitty!!! What's up with the modern looking pads? Severley underwhelmed....
-
ENOUGH WITH FREAKIN' SUPERHERO MOVIES!!!! I am so bored of them, and I can't believe more people here aren't. Back in 2002, the prospect of a big-screen SPIDER-MAN, with top notch actors and a cult-favourite director, was genuinely appealing. That's nearly nine years ago, since which I feel I've seen COUNTLESS origin stories, which are ALL remarkably similar. I saw KICK-ASS last night and I couldn't believe they had the scene where our hero thinks a beautiful schoolmate is saying hi to him, where in fact she's talking to the girl behind him and he was just in their eye-line. No doubt we'll see the same scene replayed shortly with Andrew Garfield. Back then they got hot-as-hell directors who had something to say to do these movies - Sam Raimi, Ang Lee, Christopher Nolan. But honestly, did Jon Favreau really bring anything to Iron Man 2, was there REALLY the sense that he had something to say? Much as I love Ken Branagh as an actor, des his take on Frankenstein give you ANY sense that he can take a myth and give it a new intriguing spin? My hope, my big hope, is that Joss Whedon's AVENGERS turns out good. But knowing his luck Marvel will be firing him any day now...
-
They are transforming a street in Manchester, England into 1940's era New York for a car chase scene. They have started the transformation and start shooting in a fortnight i think...
-
So you think the boots are "too brown"? Wow, dude. Just...wow...I don't even...man...wow...that is probably the single most dorkiest thing I have ever read on AICN in the ten years I've been coming here. Of all the problems in all the other crap movies Hollywood puts out, you decide to make a stand against the brown-ness of Captain America's goddamn boots? Fucking amazing.
-
It's Captain America on a WWII bike being chased by HYDRA. Say what you will abou the costume, as if this isn't the coolest thing you'll see all day.
-
I guess he is Captain of middle America.
-
But that's the least of their problems...
-
It looks great - looks like he made the outfit in the 40s rather than the 2000s, which was a big worry after seeing those early concept pics. It's a WW2-era superhero film directed by the guy who did The Rocketeer. This film will be fucking brilliant.
-
Can't wait to see this bitch in action. Also a lot better than that Thor shit.
-
IT LOOKS FUCKING ATTROCIOUS
-
If he would be walking on the streets of the United States, he will likely be:
- a crazy terrorist, therefore a threat to national security
- a crazy dude in a suit, who just quit his job and starts acting freaky like in Taxi Driver
- ore a really bored cubical everyday-dude
http://movienews.pipeno.com/ -
The real important questions concerns the Hydra agent in the Rolls Royce. Is he getting some road-head?
Oh yeah BTW: Stuntman in protective gear. And the costume is modeled off the Ultimate's version of Cap. -
ALL THE OTHER SUPERHERO SUITS HAD A REASON,THIS JUST LOOKS FUCKIN PATHETIC
-
Minus the fact that it's a stunt man and not Evans, the costume looks good. I love the fact that they didn't cop out and ditch the wings. Let's just hope that this doesn't suck.
-
god, what a load of cunts... it's real. click on the link. did you see how fucking cool hydra looks? the vehicles? the actual production design? this is not half-ass. and the reason Cap looks like a 37 year old cos-play guy that lives in his mom's basement (in this pic of a stunt man for a brief shot on set unlit) is that he HAS to. why wouldn't he? superheroes were created by that type of person. if they were in the real world, they would. but ever notice how a fucking movie is not the REAL WORLD? i figured fucking idiots that read comics would be first to understand suspension of disbelief. it IS possible to not have an opinion on something until you have more information.
-
people complaining about the look need to get a grip, the stunt suit is obviously for long range shoots

For some reason I dislike it too. It makes me loathe Harry, I can picture him like The Baron Vladimir Harkonnen eyeing up a Heartplug on a nubile young boy or something. errrgh
-
well I guess Scott Pilgrim can relax now at being the biggest comic book movie failure. Cap is gonna sail past the fail of that movie so far in terms of cost and lack of attendance. Not only will this movie have NO overseas market at all (no star power, AMERICA in the title = can't wait to see the flags digitially removed and the red-white-blue of his suit taken out overseas) but nobody is gonna go to see it no matter what, we all know this is true. Welcome to America and the world waking up from the dream of comic book movie success. This is gonna do what CUTTHROAT ISLAND did to pirate movies, that is convinc studios not to make comic book movies any more, because we're about to see a massive fail of these kinds of movies when this fails, THOR fails, GREEN LANTERN fails. WOW what a failure this image is, it's just bad.
-
Seriously, the giggle shit is getting old.

-
comin' Bucky? Bucky? Where the hell is that damn kid now?
-
The shot from the back with the scarred shield actually looks somewhat badass... and I would not be at all surprised if that's the angle this double is going to be filmed from. Either way, the costume is a mixed bag. Some shots make it look promising, while others are dubious. I don't care for the BMX padding look to the shoulders (or the crappy star added there...). I'm glad they added at least some suggestion of wings, although the half measure probably doesn't really make anyone fully happy. Ultimately though, I'm not overly worried at this point... I'll wait for a trailer of some sort to get worked up either way.

A wise-cracking Captain America isn't true to the character!
by warrensmooth
Steve Rogers is a WWII-era man and should be played pretty stiff and conservative. Too many one-liners and the character loses his gravitas. The Captain is NOT Spider-Man in a flag costume!
-

And it would make sense that a stunt costume be looser fitting..
by chewtoy
Some elements (such as the stomach details) seem painted on in the standing shot of the guy, but either way I would doubt that the stunt costume is an exact match for the costume used in other scenes. The Batman suits didn't allow the actor to turn his head, after all, and Robocop couldn't wear pants and walk. You probably don't want to have to ride a motorcycle and do acrobatic stunts in restrictive, closely tailored, harness-laden Captain America suits either.
-
Why dont you A**holes wait until the movie comes out before you make a judgement. I myself cant wait, seeing as how i've had more fun watching Marvel flix than anything DC has made. And yes Dick knight riders that includes your holy grail.
-
... Thor!
-
That thing is awesome. And yes, it's the classic Hydra logo... a skull with tentacles. Whether the Red Skull is going to be giving rise to Hydra in this film, or if Baron Strucker is in this film, I haven't heard.
-
BULLSEYE on it...
-
Shoulder pads and a helmet? Just because you designed Boba Fett doesn't mean you had to make Captain America look like him! Read the Stern/Byrne run. THAT'S what Cap looks like. Sheesh. You give these filmmakers decades of reference material and they still fuck it up.
-
Where the fuck is your CHIN ?!?!

... overtaking my fucking screen. Eat me, Bruckheimer!
-
At first glance, I was thinking this had to be some sort of clever prank, but I am just now realizing this is the actual costume they are going to use and these are actually set photos. OH. DEAR. LORD. It reminds me of the costume Woody donned in Defendor with more color. I was so hopeful from the previously posted concept art, but this costume like a big bag of shit. The helmet, the mask, the boots, I'm at a loss for words.
-
Putting all the stuntman costume vs. actual costume arguments aside, I gotta say a man wearing bright blue pajamas and a shield which is essentially a target in the frontlines of a war seems… retarded. However, these pictures do make the Captain look like a douche-bag. Hopefully they’ll get better when we see production shots and clips.
-
I'm glad they are being true to Cap's origins and going the WWII route. As far as the suit goes, it's clearly a mock-up for the stuntman, so no worries there. Cannot wait for next summer!!

I see from the ad above that Iron Man 2 will hit DVD later this month. So I can relive the disappointment again and again. Maybe I'll splice in footage from the first movie and remove all the Black widow stuff so it actually feels like an IM movie again

it's a stunt suit, you morons. not meant for close ups. we're getting badass Hydra agents chasing Cap on film, wow do we ever live in a time of spoiled geeks. you guys are getting all these marvel films and yet you cry about wings, brown boots, and stunt men. like someone above me said, for a film site most of you mouth breathers know so little about how movies are made yet are so quick to pass judgement. dolts.
-
...and boy, it looks like he's got that part down pat. Guess we're getting the "capitalist swine" version of Cap in this movie. :P
-
I too am excited for a period Captain America movie (I'm still undecided on how I feel about the upcoming X-Men prequel/reboot). Any pictures from this film make me more and more excited!
Goofy comment - I read your headline and for some reason thought you were running what might've been the absolute best contest in the history of movie contests. I briefly hoped this was a story about how we could win a WW2 period motorcycle that we'd get to ride to watch a premier of Captain America at a drive in or something (I know logistically that makes little sense, but I was hoping). Giggle...
Regardless, awesome pic, and kind of damn you for making me giddy about Captain America all day now (will have to wear my Captain America Super Soldier t-shirt from Comic-Con to work now or something). -
for christs sake, get Herc's cock out of your mouth and stop saying "giggle" it makes you sound like a fucking retarded child. But then again, Ive read your Twitter page and youve referred to male actors as "adorable" Come to think of it, maybe you should put that cock back IN your mouth where it belongs
-
...just horrible! I bet, as cap did in the first horrible live action movie, when in tense situations he will fake being sick.
-
the comparing of harry to baron harkonnen is genius. long live the fighters!
-
He needs a stunt double for a scene on a Harley? He can't drive it in a straight line so they can get a closeup?
What a fag!
-
Hydra bikes look awesome - love that they use the original Hydra logo and the Hydra style helmets. This looks like a nice 'future 40s' style. So is the guy in the car Baron Strucker? That would be cool.
-
Like ocean waves for The Choppah. My power grows!
-
this costume is made for wide shots, it doesnt need to look that good...
-
and he said "9! 9! 9! 9!"
-
His outfit looks so not era-appropriate it's offputting, the ribbed foam armor looks like something found on an umpire or a goalie, certainly not era-specific. And it's making him look dumpy. The Hydra vehicles look odd too, the car is cool but a bit steampunk, and the bikes look like something from an '80s sci-fi TV show.
-
...this is likely a long shot of Cap on a bike from a distance, and without the proper lighting, effects, etc. We're just looking at a long distance shot of a body double in close-up. I'm sure Bale's doubles as Batman, up close, looked just as silly.
-
Probably meant for long shots and not up close like this. Plus they have said the costume goes through a series of changes over the course of the film. I'm not going to judge the whole film from one picture.
-
She's been in a real bad accident and sent me to pick you up. Climb up onto my neato bike and we'll go see her. Did I mention my shoulder pads are filled with candy?
-
He's always in these movies.
-
Why is everyone complaining about the suit? It looks like something that could have existed around WW2. This is more likely what we'll see in this film until he gets an upgrade in the Avengers movie or at the very end of this one.
-
of him riding a Motorcycle? is the gguy so much of a clutz he can't ride a simple motorcycle?
-
Why are they revising Captain America's costume? Just portray it the same way it is shown in the comics. Is that too difficult to ask?
-
Chris Evans wears a cheap 616 Kirby version during the USO scene where he gets laughed at by the soldiers.FUCK THIS MOVIE!Green Lantern>Thor>Cap.>X-Men:FC
-
they're not gonna put a stuntman in one of those & have him ride around on a motorcycle.
-
and you're STILL bitching....how pathetic!!
-
It's funny, I really only go to Superhero and SCI-FI movies--oh, and movies that take on the Conservatives--other than that I don't watch any movies--especially comedies just leave me bored.
-
This is what happens when you have a Superhero movie that's afraid to actually be a superhero movie. They didn't have the balls to do a proper retro costume like the ones in Watchmen or even the JSA episode of Smallville and so you get this, underwhelming, mishmash of materials--the only thing that could possibly save this is if narratively speaking--this is exactly what this is--a young Rogers putting something together that just happens to look a bit like the Captain America outfit--but only time will tell--because I haven't been all that impressed by the main design that I have seen for this either.
-
Nothing to worry about. These are amateur shots, with no special effects, and no chris evans. The movie has more than a 5.00 budget.
-
Hydra in this movie could mean one super cool thing: Hydra vs The Avengers! Or SHIELD vs Hydra in another movie! Marvelous times indeed...
-
to make a suit that doesn't look stupid. You can't. because its very being looks retarded outside of a comic book. so there is no pleasing assholes. which make up the majority of the (vocal) comic community. admit it, this thing is moving down the road with a director that "gets it". christ, sometimes i think it's more than you people deserve.
-
and angles. And CGI, and photoshop these days.
-
Yeah, first Harry takes jabs at Inception while people are still at the peak of anger and emotion about the whole FUCK UP in his other reviews with snide little comments about "dreaming"... and now he makes SURE to put "giggle" in the title just to spite you little fuckers. This is the man you cherish and love and hoist with a forklift over your shoulders? THIS?! HE MOCKS YOU, HE LAUGHS AT YOU, BELLY JIGGLING AND JOWLS QUAKING AS HE SHOVELS KFC IN HIS FACE. "Giggle a little bigger", you son of a bitch.
-
I'm impressed, it's always tricky to judge a look from an amateur picture but the style looks good. Cap's suit looks a bit too "blue" i'd have liked to have seen a more army ready look, but all in all it looks great. if a chubby guy with triple chins can make it look good i'm sure Evans will look great in it.
-
If any Hollywood execs are reading this they're probably ready to kill us all by this point, and I kind of suspect that the wings were added to appease the fanboys anyway, but I personally liked the costume better before. *shrugs*
-
the suit looks good it's got the 40's vibe about it, i like the wings too. old world war 2 bombers and planes had pictures painted on the side of them, it goes with that kind of look.

...but that looks pretty bad. Stunt suit I hope? Wow.... Why didn't they just use the "Ultimates" 40s version of Cap?
-
You absolutely proved my point--better than I could have hoped to!
Grem- -
and does not look at all 1940's.
Grem-and no, it might be better than you deserve, but it is not better than most of us deserve. Don't make excuses for mediocrity! -
"most of us deserve?" FFS
How do we deserve anything? as far as i'm aware no one on this forum is funding either the film or the costume? so none of us "deserve" anything. We just pay to see it if we want to see it. -
it looks pretty damn awesome. And the Hydra 40's sci-fi look is even better! A super hero flick set in WWII, how dare you complain, shame on youuuuu!
-
Cool. Looks like Hydra has advanced tech. Could that mean that they a) Are in league with an alien race who's providing them with advanced weaponary (Skrulls / Chitauri)?? or b) Already in possession of the Cosmic Cube and have pumped out some cool bikes for starters. Hopefully a pointer to Avengers etc. Could be. As for the Cap suit....sorry, but I will never bad mouth Captain America in any incarnation. Great character who deserves his time in the spotlight. Hope they nail it. Can't wait.
-
Yeah totally went there.
-
version of a crap design. I suspect they fucked with the design because of the legal entanglement with Kirby's heirs. Really, all they had to do was translate the Epting version from the early books of his run with Brubaker, and the suit would've looked perfect.
-
he actually looks closer to the pudgy actor who played Cap in the 1940s movie serial & rode a similar motorcycle!
-
I wanna see Cap's shield bouncing off Nazi skulls now!!! Also, hopefully the new X-men movie will give Cyclops a good role instead of getting porked for the forth movie in a row.
-
More like "of middle earth" Looks more like Samwise Gamgee dressed up as Cap for Halloween (sorry, Rudy). Too early to hate on a film from a few quick snapshots of a stuntman. MArvel needs to issue a pic of Evans in the real costume to set the record straight.
