    by tehbigivan

It won't be long before house is on 24 hours a day. Most days you can catch at least 8 episodes, and that is on a slow day.

Thought that warranted mention. It's like the Mad Men of spy shows, at least in terms of atmosphere and pacing. Good stuff.

    What about a Marathon Marathon?

    by big jim

36 straight hours of runners running roughly 26 miles. As for Buffy, 5 hours is hardly a marathon- more like a 5K: just when you've settled into a comfortable groove, it's over.

BBC America needs to quit showing American shows.

    by voice o. reason

The inclusion of Patrick Stewart doesn't automatically make TNG a British show. How about more reruns of "Life on Mars" or "Ashes to Ashes"?

BBC America shows TNG all the time

    by jaka

Seriously. Pretty sure that mini-marathon is a regular thing. Regardless, they are airing TNG multiple times each weekday right now. Kind of awesome, but as mentioned it's also kind of a "WTF?" I keep hearing about all these great BBC shows past and present but none of them are ever on. I mean, I LOVE TNG! But I'd rather watch Top Gear repeats than something I have on a DVD a couple feet away. Must get good ad income off showing them. Same with Spike and the Star Wars movies.

Any fan of TV knows that when shows like TNG are run daily on TV a lot is cut out of the shows to make more room for commercials. But, being an uneducated youngster like you are, that's understandable.

    Indy marathon

    by triple_j_72

Dish Network has a fairly new HD channel called "EPIX" and they had an Indy marathon (yes, including Crystal Skull) last Memorial Day weekend. They called it the "Indy 500" ... 500 minutes of Indy. :-)

    by ndally

Fucking Star Wars airs every other week but for some reason we Canadians only get Spike in SD. I want my Star Wars in HD dammit!! I wonder if someone has put the HD versions via torrent somewhere. Anyone know? Someone must of PVR'd it and put it on the net. Help a brotha out fellow North Americans. Record these and put the HD verisons on the net. Light Sabres @ 720p give me wood

PS3 DVD upconvert just doesn't cut it

    by ndally

I've recorded Raiders in 1080i on one of our movie channels and it looks way better than the "1080P" upconvert that PS3 does of my DVD copies. What's the deal? Don't movie channels just upconvert if there is no HD master created? I guess just because a blu-ray hasn't been released doesn't mean there isn't an HD master that Lucasfilm creates for TV broadcast. Hmmm one wonders

i'm pretty sure there is an HD master of the Indy trilogy. the footage they have of those movies on the extras for the Part 4 blu-ray are gorgeous, its probably just a matter of lucas/spielberg deciding when to release it in stores.

I'm 38 and I own every ST series save Enterprise on DVD. TNG is not edited in any way on BBC America. Nor is it edited for it's nightly airings on WGNA out of Chicago. And the Voyager episodes that air in the middle of the night on Spike are fully intact. But umm, thanks anyway.

...what exactly did I "lose" by the Star Wars prequels being so bad? Besides my time?

To correct your lame-ass analogy, I'm the ex-boyfriend who doesn't give a rat's ass about my ex-girlfriend and doesn't ever bring her up in conversation, but if SOMEONE ELSE brings her up in conversation, I won't hesitate cracking a joke at her expense. Because she's just that awful. And I'm just that funny. And anyone who doesn't think I'm funny is a dope. Oh, and you. I suppose.

    by american mythos

I still watch it on WGN America. There's the standard number of commercial breaks, and the breaks are noticeably shorter than those on today's first run shows. I'm sure they're uncut.

    LOONEY TUNES Marathon!

    by mephisto the great

One of our local channels here in Seattle had a 12-hour Looney Tunes marathon with ZERO commercials except for the group that was sponsoring it. There were cartoons there I hadn't seen in ages. In between each one, they showed a "Random Act of Violence" from either South Park, Family Guy or the Simpsons. Great times.
