Yippee! Love me some marathons!
-
Growing Pains Marathon?!
-
And that's different from their daily schedule how?
-
my god, it seems like every 2 weeks we get a marathon weekend of those movies.
-
Where do I sign up to avoid THAT like the plague? I either watch them with Rifftrax, or I don't watch them.
-
Any Twilight Zone marathons? Those were some great Thanksgivings...
-
...USA would only air the Trilogy at Christmas?
-
It won't be long before house is on 24 hours a day. Most days you can catch at least 8 episodes, and that is on a slow day.
-
Monday I wondering if I could watch every episode of the Office.
-
Thought that warranted mention. It's like the Mad Men of spy shows, at least in terms of atmosphere and pacing. Good stuff.
-
Plus a new one later that night.
-
36 straight hours of runners running roughly 26 miles.<p>As for Buffy, 5 hours is hardly a marathon- more like a 5K: just when you've settled into a comfortable groove, it's over.
-
The inclusion of Patrick Stewart doesn't automatically make TNG a British show. How about more reruns of "Life on Mars" or "Ashes to Ashes"?
-
You act like dumped boyfriend keeping tabs on your ex, telling everyone you really don't give a shit, but for some reason you do. If you actually didn't give a damn about Star Wars anymore, you wouldn't say a fucking word. Get the fuck over it- you lost.
-
But where are the Bond marathons? Doesn't seem right to have a holiday weekend with James Bond.
-
Maureen McGovern singing Gershwin tunes does not compel me to give 50 bucks to Jerry Lewis. Neko Case would.
-
Seriously. Pretty sure that mini-marathon is a regular thing. Regardless, they are airing TNG multiple times each weekday right now. Kind of awesome, but as mentioned it's also kind of a "WTF?" I keep hearing about all these great BBC shows past and present but none of them are ever on. I mean, I LOVE TNG! But I'd rather watch Top Gear repeats than something I have on a DVD a couple feet away. Must get good ad income off showing them. Same with Spike and the Star Wars movies.
-
You do realize the episodes are chopped up right?
-
c'mon history channel..get on that!
-
I was going to ask you what the hell you're talking about... but I don't really care... so never mind!
-
Any fan of TV knows that when shows like TNG are run daily on TV a lot is cut out of the shows to make more room for commercials. But, being an uneducated youngster like you are, that's understandable.
-
Dish Network has a fairly new HD channel called "EPIX" and they had an Indy marathon (yes, including Crystal Skull) last Memorial Day weekend. They called it the "Indy 500" ... 500 minutes of Indy. :-)
-
Fucking Star Wars airs every other week but for some reason we Canadians only get Spike in SD. I want my Star Wars in HD dammit!! I wonder if someone has put the HD versions via torrent somewhere. Anyone know? Someone must of PVR'd it and put it on the net. Help a brotha out fellow North Americans. Record these and put the HD verisons on the net. Light Sabres @ 720p give me wood
-
I've recorded Raiders in 1080i on one of our movie channels and it looks way better than the "1080P" upconvert that PS3 does of my DVD copies. What's the deal? Don't movie channels just upconvert if there is no HD master created? I guess just because a blu-ray hasn't been released doesn't mean there isn't an HD master that Lucasfilm creates for TV broadcast. Hmmm one wonders
-
i'm pretty sure there is an HD master of the Indy trilogy. the footage they have of those movies on the extras for the Part 4 blu-ray are gorgeous, its probably just a matter of lucas/spielberg deciding when to release it in stores.
-
I'm 38 and I own every ST series save Enterprise on DVD. TNG is not edited in any way on BBC America. Nor is it edited for it's nightly airings on WGNA out of Chicago. And the Voyager episodes that air in the middle of the night on Spike are fully intact. But umm, thanks anyway.
-
And you know this how?
-
...what exactly did I "lose" by the Star Wars prequels being so bad? Besides my time? To correct your lame-ass analogy, I'm the ex-boyfriend who doesn't give a rat's ass about my ex-girlfriend and doesn't ever bring her up in conversation, but if SOMEONE ELSE brings her up in conversation, I won't hesitate cracking a joke at her expense. Because she's just that awful. And I'm just that funny. And anyone who doesn't think I'm funny is a dope. Oh, and you. I suppose.
-
I still watch it on WGN America. There's the standard number of commercial breaks, and the breaks are noticeably shorter than those on today's first run shows. I'm sure they're uncut.
-
So, I have no need for cable.
-
Then why are you posting pointless remarks in a TB about weekend marathons on cable and satellite. Please don't waste my time by answering. Just watch your Enterprise DVDs.
-
Wow, is asshole your middle name?
-
posted since the beginning of this talkback. Then reevaluate who the asshole is here.
-
so they can fit in more commercials? Or more like 3x?
-
No Looney Toons?! No Tom & Jerry?! No tex Avery?j! Chuck Jones????!!!! What the hell is the world coming to?! 'Course... they all pretty much SUCK, these days since the retro-conning BASTARD political correctness police got their way... *Sniff* OH THE HUMANITY!
-
Better avoid buying the Blue Rays then, but you won't.
-
i'm strictly dvd. no blu-ray in this house. i'll just download the deleted scenes on youtube. i got the O-OT and PT boxsets, and that's it for me.
-
Kinda moot.
-
One of our local channels here in Seattle had a 12-hour Looney Tunes marathon with ZERO commercials except for the group that was sponsoring it. There were cartoons there I hadn't seen in ages. In between each one, they showed a "Random Act of Violence" from either South Park, Family Guy or the Simpsons. Great times.
