    First series

Was horrible. Lots of build-up to a big meh. I likes my stories with a climax. It ain't gotta have explosions, but it do gotta have a climax. This didn't so I never read the following series. Better or what?

You make it sound like King wrote it, not his son.

    LOL, Nice Marmot

To be honest, I really liked the first run until that last issue. The killer heading to the house plot turned out okay, but the whole deal with the bitch in the well was, well, anti-climactic. Loved the art, though. And I'm still wondering -- does it improve? If so, I could be convinced to get the rest of 'em.

Personally, I've liked all three of the currently available volumes. The first series was just that - the first series. Sooner or later, the throwdown with the thing from the well will have to come, but Hill is taking his time in setting up the confrontation. I'm really digging this book right now at any rate. Not sure how this will fly as a TV show, though - especially on network TV. Maybe they'll pull it off, though, who knows?

I agree with the others, they are a good read. Hill is definitely taking his time with building up the story, but in a good way. I've enjoyed them all so far.

    This is great!

    by mad_mike

The comic series kicks ass so its good to see this making the leap to TV. Which I think is the correct format for it.

    Hmmm... okay

    by the bicycle sharer

I'll give the next ones a shot, but the "taking his time" thing is a bit disconcerting. Nonetheless, thanks for the advice. (Although, judging from the sparsity of comments in the talkback, prospects ain't lookin' good for this series.)

    I love the comic, but...

    by v1cious

This will be canceled. There's no way Locke & Key will last on FOX.

    Comic is cool....as a show?

    by nocalflicks

I have both hardcovers, and will be ordering third soon. I really enjoy it. However I think it will be nearly impossible to make this with any accuracy and integrity to the story...on a tv show.

You may be right, but maybe with the presence of Spielberg as executive producer it at least won't get the Friday Night Time Slot of Death.

I'll watch this purely for Friedman's writing.

    by ninjarap

Sarah Connor was just that fucking good. Friedman's earned a loyalty from me that I previously reserved for Joss Whedon (up until Dollhouse sucked almost relentlessly).

"I was so hopeful when Susan's Plan came out that it heralded the return of both Biehn and Akyroyd as genuinely comedic guys. But it was a false dawn for both."False dawn? Heralded the return of Michael Biehn? Hopeful about a movie called "Susan's Plan"? There are so many things pretentious and wrong with that sentence that I don't know where to begin. Wow.

    Love this series

    by jaypeep

I think it has been one of the better comics out there lately. It definitely has its slow-burn issues. I greatly fear what Fox may do to this story... I'm picturing some kind of OC cast. Sigh.

Does anyone here follow Josh on Twitter?

    by buffywrestling

    Or read his blog?

The guy is funny as fuck. Too bad Joss Whedon's Dollhouse had to destroy his little TV show. He has that power, ya know.

I guess no one told Choppah that part of the art of comedy is actually being funny. Just like no one told Stallone that part of the art of making a movie is actually having a plot.
