I still think...

    by FrankBooth93

they should do a Zoidberg spin-off

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 3:12 p.m. CST

    The new episodes are...okay.

    by fiester

But I'm not surprised they are not drawing big ratings.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 3:18 p.m. CST

Ok, last week's episode wasn't so good.

    by cookylamoo

    But nobody bats 1,000.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 3:20 p.m. CST

    This one looks much better.

    by cookylamoo

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 3:52 p.m. CST

futurama is such a great and intelligent show

    by yourSTEPDADDY

but I never have the desire to watch it... its a shame Id rather watch reruns of Tosh

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 3:52 p.m. CST

I'm digging most of the new episodes so far

    by SpyGuy

The eyePod episode, in particular, will soon become dated like most of SOUTH PARK's pop-culture subjects, but it was such dead-on satire.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 3:59 p.m. CST

I Like Futurama, Watch It When I Can

    by kevinwillis.net

But I agree with Bender--when the hell is there going to be another Simpson's movie? Simpson's Movie was funnier than all the episodes of the last two seasons of the Simpson's put together.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 4:22 p.m. CST

The Bender/Hermes episode is classic Simpsons good

    by NivekJ

Probably one of the best, emotionally resonant endings I've ever seen on television, let alone Comedy Central.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 5:15 p.m. CST

it airs at a weird time.. hard to remember without a DVR

    by HaterofCrap

i've loved the last 4 or so episodes...

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 5:40 p.m. CST

    The switch to Comedy Central...

    by BrooseTheScharuk

...has made all the difference in the world with this show. The satire is far more biting and they can go just that little bit further with racy content. It's really discouraging that people don't see how fucking smart and funny this show has become. The evolution episode -- to name only one out of all the great stories so far -- was jaw-droppingly clever.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 5:43 p.m. CST

Currently airing? Yes, I'd say Futurama and Louie

    by skimn

are the two best, new episode half-hour comedies airing right now. (Its Always Sunny coming soon....) I'm afraid the Jersey mongoloids on MTV are drawing too many viewers who like to rubberneck at slow motion train wrecks.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 5:49 p.m. CST

    dvr ratings?

    by fignuts2021

I DVR most of my shows, how does the ratings work with that? I feel bad should I be watching shows like Louie, Futurama, and other "failing" shows I like when there first aired or am I being counted just the same?

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 5:58 p.m. CST

    Fear not

    by spaceghost_me

Futurama's ratings aren't great, but they are not bad for cable. I think its still the second or third highest rated show on Comedy Central. That said, keep watching and make your friends, neighbors, friend's neighbors watch. (But not your neighbors' friends.... ewww....)

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 6:19 p.m. CST

The body switch ep was the best so far

    by sunwukong86

It felt like the older seasons

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 6:34 p.m. CST

I'm surprised anyone watches it live

    by Dapper Swindler

It's audience is going to DVR, DVD, and torrent this shit. They should forget about ratings and just worry about DVD sales. Or is that what the Futurama movies are?

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 6:39 p.m. CST

    I can't watch, I'm Canadian

    by Tall_Boy66

We haven't gotten any new episodes yet, Teletoon hasn't even said if they'll air them, but they air Futurama every night. But not the new ones. I can, however, go to eztv.it every Thursday night though. So there's always that.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 6:39 p.m. CST

I think Nielsen takes into account time shifted

    by skimn

viewing on a different rating table. I think...

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 7:20 p.m. CST

    blame Canadia!

    by yourSTEPDADDY

    Im not your friend, pal!
sorry, I love Canadia and the Canadiaers

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 8:05 p.m. CST

    Futurama is my favourite show.

    by blackwood

'Ratings' are an antiquated and useless system. They mean nothing. Nothing. NOTHING.
The show was brought back because of DVD sales. It will make money on DVD.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 8:20 p.m. CST

    ive enjoyed this season....

    by The_Cliffster

.. much more than the movies... they've brought back the funny.... :)

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 8:57 p.m. CST

    The last 6 episodes

    by ThrowMeTheIdol

have been genius, the best Futurama ever. The streak started with the Duh Vinci ep.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 9:10 p.m. CST

did someone actually say last weeks ep wasnt so good?

    by soup74

wow. it may have instantly become my favorite episode ever. we're talking about the body switching one, right?

im not trying to be sarcastic, i understand people have different tastes, but man, if you like futurama at all, that episode hit the nail on the head.

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 9:21 p.m. CST

    by thepoohguy

who thinks Hot in Cleveland is hilarious?

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 10:25 p.m. CST

Yeah, last week's episode was great

    by toshiro-solo

I also really liked the "Professor, Fry, and Bender travelling forward into the future" episode, but - man - last week's episode was just awesome. I wasn't sure about the return, but that episode would be top 10 for me of the entire series. Sure, the Fry and Leela date might have given me some nightmares, but - who cares when it's that funny?

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 10:27 p.m. CST

    last weeks

    by darkpassenger

i thought it was the best episode so far, the body switching was very fuuny, especially zoidberg in fry with that washbucket robot, and zoidberg making out with professer was priceless

  • Aug. 25, 2010, 11:18 p.m. CST

'I don't want to live on this planet anymore'.

Why watch when Family Guy has poop jokes?

    by The_Maltese_Vulcan

I mean seriously, have you seen this great show? Every thirty seconds there's a shit joke. Some guy eats shit, or they puke shit, or they fuck in shit....It's goddamn funny! Then for the other fifteen minutes they're talking about what the person looked like eating and barfing the shit from the earlier scene! That MacFarlane guy needs virgins sacrificed to him this very instant. Coolest of all, if you watch Robot Chicken and then wait 3 months, Wow, you get to see the same joke re-hashed on Family Guy! With all that, why the hell would you waste your time on a totally original piece of crap like Futurama?

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 1:14 a.m. CST

    Something cool...

    by Captain Hollywood

The whole solution of last weeks episode was a new math theorem created by one of the writers. http://tinyurl.com/34u6to6

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 3:07 a.m. CST

These new episodes have been great.

    by hst666

    Please watch Futurama

    Last week's Futurama sex scene

    by David Cloverfield

was disguisting, hillarious, heartwarming and disguisting. Let's see if they can top it.

Why do some of the people who defend this show

    by hst666

need to attack other shows. I like Futurama and Family Guy and South Park.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 6:57 a.m. CST

    Torrent Torrent Torrent

    by Thehairyhandedgentwhoranamucinkent

I live in Ireland so I have to torrent this to watch but it's worth it. I pretty much ahve to torrent everything. This, mad men and true blood have got me through the summer. Looking forward to Boardwalk empire soon, and house, bones, modern family etc. I will torrent them all.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 7:53 a.m. CST

This season has been a triumph.

    by rbatty024

The last three episodes have been on par with some of the best. I'll admit that I was a little worried about the return. I wasn't sure whether they had become a little rusty over the years (I liked the movies, but they were different beast from the regular seasons). Fortunately, my fears were unfounded.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 8:32 a.m. CST

    I'm glad it's back.

    by The McPoyle Clan

And better than the STV movies.

    It's like I've always said...

    by Billyeveryteen

Make new friends, but treasure the old. One is silver, the other is gold. (both Benders hug and cry)

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 9:25 a.m. CST

Most of the eps have been good except for...

    by FeralAngel

Proposition Infinity. I don't watch toons to get preached at. Don't care if it's the left or right that's doing it, proselytizing turns me off. The evolution/creationism ep was a bit annoying too. Less preachy, more funny, Groening. Oh, and it would help if you'd stop jerking people around about Fry and Leela. Make up your damn mind about it and move on.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 10:22 a.m. CST

    Time shifting

    by outlaw_the

Well Does that rating take in acount that that you can watch it an Hour later even with out Using a DVR to time shift it?

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 10:52 a.m. CST

    FeralAngel

    by hst666

I did not see the evolution/creationism ep as preachy. However, I agree with you wrt Leela and Fry. It seems like one episode they are going out and the next they aren't.

    The_Maltese_Vulcan

    by smackfu

I'll be the first to admit that a lot of Family Guy stuff is crude for the sake of being crude, but honestly this 'poop joke' stuff is the kind of thing you normally hear your grandfather spouting out about modern entertainment. I bet you wouldn't have to look to far to find some stupid old curmudgeon saying the exact same thing about Futurama. If you actually *watched* Family Guy prior to deciding it was terrible, you might actually realize it's pretty damned funny when it wants to be. Futurama, Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park...all good in different ways. Having a grudge against a tv show is pretty weird.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 8:51 p.m. CST

The best thing about last week's episode...

    by DanielKurland

which I also loved, was that the stupid premise is laid out IMMEDIATELY. That's not what it's about though, it's seeing how and why they're going to use the machine so constantly. And all of the wash bucket stuff was great.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 10:18 p.m. CST

The show was brought back because of DVD sales

    by mayorofsmpleton

Mostly. It's not owned by CC but I imagine FOX might offer it cheaply to license BECAUSE it's DVD sales are good. In other words, a 0.8 rating isn't the end of the world. It's not a great sign -- but I'd hardly expect CC to pull the plug after their initial 26 episode order ends. I think Futurama will continue for a long time.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 11:09 p.m. CST

    Tonight's show was great.

    by Voice O. Reason

And I agree that it seems like one episode Leela and Fry are going out and the next they aren't.

  • Aug. 26, 2010, 11:43 p.m. CST

    This season

    by Bulla_11

has had, great episodes and some bad ones. The body switch and the forward machine eps were awesome, the Da Vinci one was awful but still had it’s funny moments.

  • Aug. 27, 2010, 1:55 a.m. CST

The last few episodes have been awesome!

    by sparc

it started off slow, but has really started taking off now. It's ashame the ratings are down, when the best episodes are just coming out now. The recent episodes definitely blow away the movies. Keep it up futurama!

  • Aug. 27, 2010, 3:01 a.m. CST

Yeah the Fry Leela stuff is not really organic

    by David Cloverfield

The only complain I can have about this season. I know the show is not about them, but this quantum relationship they're having is taking me out of the show. Wrecks continuity.

  • Aug. 27, 2010, 7:02 a.m. CST

    Scruffy and washbucket spinoff!

    by Colonel_Blimp

    Now.

  • Aug. 27, 2010, 2:22 p.m. CST

    hit and miss season

    by TV's Frank

"The Time Machine" take-off episode was among the best Futurama episodes ever, in my opinion. Evolution and body-switching episodes were also very good. Last night's with the Omicron Persei guy was -sadly- not so good.

  • Aug. 29, 2010, 2:19 p.m. CST

    This season has been great

    by RedBull_Werewolf

I think only the brain switching episode was a miss, every other episode was good if not great. The time traveling one into the future was one of the best episodes the show has ever produced
