Bearded George Clooney + A Snow Babe + Guns = A Clip From THE AMERICAN!!

I've been loving the trailers for THE AMERICAN...
...and really dig the retroness of its poster...
...and think George Clooney is always cool as hell even when the movies around him are not (which is rarely), so I'm expecting this picture could at least be somewhat interesting.
Check out the clip below - via Yahoo movies- from the movie which arrives in early September. 28 WEEKS LATER scripter Rowan Joffe adapted a novel by Martin Booth 
with Anton Corbijn directing.

That one second was the only good part in that clip. Not very suspenseful or impressive, really.

...how the distance between them and the gunman seems to change after he kills him. He looks like he's at least 20 yards away, but after he shoots him, it only takes him 10 steps in the snow to get to him.

..but this really fails to impress. It seems the tone is right, but the plot and or logic of the action has been deemed irrelevant by the filmmakers. Ah well.

he's got like half a schtick, but he sticks with it! <p>yeah, Clooney's movies have only made about a billion dollars...such flops!<p> I guess when you're a liberal from Hollywood, there will always be jerks that think every movie you make will be Fahrenheit 9/11.<p>and not for nothing, but these are the same guys that have no problem seeing Mel Gibson or Roman Polanski films...but god forbid Clooney should appear in an ad for Obama a few years back.

End of movie. Roll the credits. Clooney bleeding in the snow from a head wound and the audience has no idea why. I knew this would be a film with no logic to the action as soon as he pointed a gun at someone and asked them what side they are on. Just fucking shoot them George.

How does he get movies made he seems like Box Office Poison to me..do his films do well on dvd & overseas...he's always been a mediocre actor to me..and very boring. He must be doing something right..he's working but..who sees his movies? other than older women..people on this site and gay men.

Somebody should tell him that we're in 2010 and that people wants movies that have pulse. Clooney makes some interesting movies but it's likes he wants to be the anti-star. We want movie stars to kick ass and look good doing that. And in his movies he either look goofy or desperatly wanting to die with one foot in the tomb. Who advice him in his career? Seriously he had it perfetly around Oceans' 11 and Dangerous Minds. And now he just looks...a dead man walking.

the sniper was a "sniper" and that he was even set up to take the shot before Clooney figured it out and took cover. Stop writing this movie and write your own. Come on talents, chop chop.
