One of the more cooler results of the Horror panels I’ve done for the last few years at the San Diego Comic Con is that occasionally, I get something dropped in my inbox that is outside of the realm of comics and firmly nestled into the dark and creepy confines of one of my other passions; horror. And man, I don’t know if it was because I’m lacking sleep or saw it at 4 in the morning or what, but it damn near made me shit myself when I watched it. I'm serious. I watched it three times and I turtle-headed it every time. Check out the trailer to see what I mean…

Anyway, the film is called ABSENTIA from director Mike Flanagan. It’s an indie horror project starring HELLBOY’s Doug Jones and apart from being moody and creepy as hell, that’s about all I know about it. One thing’s for sure, it is officially on my radar now.
As my pile of horror related media (comics, movies, books, etc) grows, I’m thinking of doing my own little weekly horror column (indie & mainstream / retro & present day) here on AICN apart from AICN COMICS. Would you guys be interested in seeing something like that? Let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
