I think mixing Arabic and Roman numerals is an offence punishable by death...or at least slight ridicule.
Anyhoo, any news regarding more new Venture Brothers can only be good news. It's shameful how unknown it is in the UK. FX have just started showing Season 1. I don't think Season 3 has ever been shown on UK TV. It's an outrage is what it is.

    This Show

    by Mockingbuddha

Is not really very good. I watched a lot of episodes based on the comments I've read about it here on AICN, but... meh... I may have smiled once or twice. Not as good as The Cleveland Show.

  • Aug. 10, 2010, 9:12 p.m. CST

    Just Kidding!

    by Mockingbuddha

FUCK YEAH!!!!! GO TEAM VENTURE!!! I'm gonna kill one nun per day until this is back on!!! I am really glad Futurama is back on. It had just surpassed the Simpsons as BSOTV(bestshowontv) when it was cancelled, but now Venture Bros is the Indie Thrill Buzz Bomb To Beat!!! I love the scene of the clone zombies attacking The Monarch!!! Ahhhhh!!!! Murderous Moppets!!!!

  • Aug. 10, 2010, 9:14 p.m. CST

    by Mockingbuddha

Seriously! I am a grown man with a family and I would sell them all now to see this whole season today!!!! There is no irony in this post!

    by Mockingbuddha

Did I miss it or was there, like no Dean in that trailer? Gonna go watch it again. I'm a Dean Booster. I also liked Hank's long hair.

Arachno-Man spinning webs with his ass! Monarch and Rusty re-enacting Green Goblin versus Peter! Dr. Mrs. The Monarch gargling mouthwash in a nightie!!! I'm gonna go watch some old eps right now. Men! Waiting on new seasons is WAR! God how I love it so!!!

Brock is awesome, Orpheus is awesome, Rusty is awesome... So many great strong, characters. Best show on TV.

  • Aug. 10, 2010, 11:50 p.m. CST

Try as Herc may, we're not going to forget the INTERVIEW!

    by ShabbyBlue

Seriously. If you decided to just scrap it and never post, it would be nice if you'd just TELL US, instead of keeping us wondering and waiting for over a year now.

  • Aug. 10, 2010, 11:52 p.m. CST

However, the interview is probably obsolete now

    by ShabbyBlue

I bet that interview is obsolete and irrelevant by now. It's probably full of vague hints at what's coming in season 4.1, which we've ALREADY SEEN. So maybe Herc's procrastinated way too long in posting it and eventually realized it was pointless to give us the interview after season 4 ended.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 12:54 a.m. CST

ShabbyBlue, I'm relying on you keeping it alive!

    by Hercules

Because that interview was so fucking insanely awesome. The David Bowie stuff alone was madness. (Bowie was Bing Crosby's successor?? What???)
I'm relying on everyone to come to AICN every day, fearful they'll miss the day I'll actually post it -- then immediately delete it.
I intend to string you along. Because TOMORROW may be the day. Don't give up on me, dad!

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 1:54 a.m. CST

I have better things to do than check this site daily

    by ShabbyBlue

I'm actually not that interested in the interview. Like a few others here, I just enjoy bringing it up whenever Venture Bros. is mentioned on this site since you hyped it up during last year's SDCC and yet never posted it. Seems rather odd to me.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 2:11 a.m. CST

    by Hercules

What you apparently missed a year ago was my disclosure that the interview was so overwhelmed by noise and party music it could not be transcribed.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 2:40 a.m. CST

    Very glad it's back

    by daggor

But they promised less Hatred, More Brock. This trailer has way too much Hatred. Brock's one-line "non-secret' was funnier than all of the Hatred stuff put together.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 2:44 a.m. CST

Apparently I wasn't the only one who missed that

    by ShabbyBlue

Because a lot of people here have wondered whatever happened to the overhyped interview. But thank you for finally explaining its absence.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 5:06 a.m. CST

Seems to be a lot of Phantom Limb...

    by DanielKurland

And I`m sure okay with that! Was he the one in that spider apparatus?

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 5:06 a.m. CST

This trailer is online for a week, maybe longer.

    by RedEgiraahgnal

If Herc wouldn't waste so much time with his precious reality shows, he probably would have noticed.
Cool trailer, though. Can't wait for it to start.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 9:44 a.m. CST

AICN needs just ONE intern . . .

    by Nice Marmot

. . . to delete all posts by bitches pissing and moaning about how LATE AICN is.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 10:29 a.m. CST

    by Franklancer

Herc was too busy twitting about his belief that bristol palin could be a better president than sarah palin to put this out there, important work that tweet, and relevant to the most important issues of the day, that said, odd there were no hank in batman costume zombies attacking monarch at end..

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 10:52 a.m. CST

    Less pedo please....

    by Billyeveryteen

    Otherwise, Hooray!!

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 11:41 a.m. CST

    yeah herc,

    by Timahh

i do check this site daily(moreorless) i didn't remember hearing anything regarding the nat sound on your interview. Now that it's been explained...i am appeased....not really cuz i was real psyched about that thing. alas..... any chance you'd be able to get another one?

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 12:29 p.m. CST

    More Moppets, Less Hatred

    by RosemarysBabyDaddy

Maybe Sgt. Hatred actually has that heart attack he talks about in the trailer. One can only hope. And praise Allah for the return of Henchman 24! Looking forward to the return of Venture Brothers.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 1:04 p.m. CST

Didn't watch the trailer. Waiting for the premier.

    by Nice Marmot

Are we sure 24 is back and not just still a vision only 21 can see? And I think Hatred is annoying as everyone else, but didn't it seem like he was kicking the pedo bug and actually becoming a good, nurturing bodyguard to the boys before the GIGANTIC hiatus?

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 3:21 p.m. CST

    Hatred has run his course

    by ShabbyBlue

We got plenty of him last season and I think most of us are sick of the ongoing pedophile jokes in the show. I hope he DOES have a heart attack so they can return focus on Brock or bring in some fresh new character.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 4:28 p.m. CST

Haha, I like how everyone pretty much...

    by DanielKurland

communally hates Sgt. Hatred. They gave it a shot.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 6:34 p.m. CST

That's because Hatred in season 4 was overkill

    by ShabbyBlue

He was amusing in small doses during the earlier seasons, but taking away Brock and giving so much screen time to Hatred in season 4.1 pretty much made everybody sick of this one-joke character.

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 7:53 p.m. CST

yeah sgt hatred was run into the ground

    by NippleEffect

think one of the guys behind venture bros is trying to tell us something?
did someone touch him when he was a kid?

  • Aug. 11, 2010, 10:07 p.m. CST

Hank, you said the double D word!

    by Gojira_X

  • Aug. 12, 2010, 4:44 a.m. CST

    More please!!! NOW.

    by JT Kirk

Sphinx ain't going away folks, just grin and bear it, like Mile High does with Shore Leave when they're "undercover".
Sgt. Hatred was indeed run into the ground, and all I can hear of his voice is Hank taking a dump.
Herc, try transcribing audio using some filters from Audacity and the speed-control on Express Scribe. I put down 20k words from SDCC just 3 days after the show thanks to those programs.

  • Aug. 12, 2010, 8:01 a.m. CST

The thing about Hatred is though...

    by DanielKurland

No one MADE them only do pedophile jokes through him. Sure, that was a trait of him, but they could have given him more (like they've done to pretty much ALL of their supporting staff) and made him deeper, especially when there's that Captain Sunshine episode as well, and how much pedophilia can you really explore? I admit to not liking the character, and his promotion this season was a misfire, but they could have made it work, like they've done with numerous other at-first-questionable decisions. Then again, thinking about how the season could have gone with say, Orpheus or Jefferson Twilight in Hatred's position, it seems like they may have made the wrong choice. And is anyone else hoping that they get back to that plot of Killinger telling Rusty he should be a supervillain instead?

  • Aug. 12, 2010, 9:21 a.m. CST

    "could have given him more"

    by Billyeveryteen

They did. He was a caring and loyal bodyguard. He's just not Brock.
His "re-lapse" and Capt Sunshine was way too much.

  • Aug. 12, 2010, 11:11 a.m. CST

    Sgt Hatred...

    by NeverTalksBack

I'm with you guys, that's my only problem with this, the guy's just not very funny. I was really hoping his role would begin to diminish, especially with Brock being back in a larger role again. Oh well, maybe if we're all very lucky Brock will kick his big dumb ass, now that would almost make all the Hatred stuff from last season worth it, almost.

    The Venture Bros guys

    by NippleEffect

are having a panel at next years comic con about how to take a joke way too far at the expense of the rest of your show and almost destroy your product
To devote that much time and energy to something so lame and unfunny takes dedication

  • Aug. 13, 2010, 4:38 a.m. CST

Hank, Dean and Sgt. Hatred's breakdown

    by Mrelia

The thing I liked about that bit was the fact the the boys took charge of the situation. They enlisted some muscle and lured Hatred out of the panic room. If they hadn't done so, and presumably obtained more of the drug, there's no telling how much worse Hatred would have gotten. Without Brock, they've had to become more self-reliant.

  • Aug. 13, 2010, 12:02 p.m. CST

The real funny with Sgt Hatred...

    by mortsleam

Is his complete lack of self-censorship. "I was just masturbating to computer porn." "Who tells someone that?!?" They got to enamored with making 'shocking' pedophile jokes for 'shock value' and missed what was truly funny about the character. IF he's not altogether gone, I hope they at least tone it down a bit and make with more hilariously awkward public pronouncements.

The lyrics lay out Bowie's plan for the Guild...

    by No-Op

Why didn't we see this all before now? The counterpoint of Bing, trapped in the drummer boy past, Bowie, dreaming of peace on earth... brining order to the force, er, Guild of Calamatous Intent...
