Will This LOST Director End Up With Jack Ryan In MOSCOW??

A few months back, we learned that the title of the first installment int the rebooted Jack Ryan franchise would be something like MOSCOW (details HERE). Now comes word that The Powers That Be are closing on a director...and it's sounding like the deal's gonna happen.

Vulture has learned exclusively that Lost executive producer — and frequent director — Jack Bender is a cat's breath away from landing the job as the director of Moscow, in which a fresh-from-the-Marines Jack Ryan goes to work as an analyst for a Russian billionaire, but winds up on the run after being implicated in a terrorist plot. (Ryan is being played by another J.J. Abrams cohort, Star Trek's Chris Pine.)

...says New York Magazine's Vulture section HERE. Also a director on ALIAS, THE SOPRANOS, and CARNIVALE, Bender helmed 36 episodes of LOST between 2004 and 2010. MOSCOW would mark his first high-profile feature film (unless you count CHILD'S PLAY 3, which...really...why wouldn't you?)
