Tommy Chong meets The Blues Brothers in today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes pic!
When I posted a mention in the Batman: The TV Show that I had a picture of Tommy Chong meeting with the Blue Brothers I thought that could generate some interest, but there are two constants in my BTS emails… I probably get a dozen a day, sometimes as much two dozen all with pictures attached, and there has not been a day that has gone by where I’m not sent either the photo of Carrie Fisher sunbathing with her body double in her Slave Leia outfit or a request for me to post the Tommy Chong meeting Jake and Elwood Blues photo.
The story goes that John Landis, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd wandered over to the set of Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie during a break from shooting. Both productions were on the Universal Backlot and this pic was snapped.
You’ll see why it took me so long… great photo, but it’s small. You can still see it and appreciate it, but I like having a picture at least as wide as this column’s text and preferably one bigger as I know a great deal of you grab these photos for cell phone and computer backgrounds.
Here it is:

If you have a pic you think should be included email me. I’m looking for the iconic, the rare, the just plain cool behind the scenes shots to feature here.
Thanks to Matthew for sending the pic and the background!
Tomorrow’s Behind the Scenes Pic will make ya’ read. Sorry about that. See ya’ then!

Dan seems to now be the same size as John was, and Tommy is still more or less the same size he was then. :P
-
Weird... I was just about to say the same thing.

Carrie Fisher sunbathing in slave Leia outfit...
by BP_drills_america_a_new_asshole
You mean a picture like that exists? Holy Moses, let's see it!
-
those screwy aliens fucked him up
-
so about those sunbathing Carrie Fisher picks?
-
http://img243.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=35560_1_122_29lo.JPG not tinyurling it though

I'd say its simply what they get the munchies for. Stay Puft Marshmallows may do that to you.
-
Or wait... I meant Ghostbusters III
-
<p>Last time I checked smoking weed created an unnatural attraction to carbohydrates which - after mass consumption - actually leads to MORE calories. I learned this a long time ago in a smoke enhanced galaxy far, far away.</p><p></p> <p>Marijuana</p> <p>Users</p> <p>Nibble</p> <p>Carbs</p> <p>Hunger</p> <p>Induced</p> <p>Each</p> <p>Smoke</p>

on the set of ST: TMP - its in either a Clint Eastwood book that i have or a Star Trek one i cant recall which...its a cool pic anyway. <p> id love to see the Pacino meets Kirk and Spock meeting from Trek VI - theres gotta be photo evidence somewhere of that
-
Little bit underwhelmed by this.<p> Belushi Akroyd and um.. Chong (who's prob a wrung in fame below that guy from the Kevin Smith movies).. standing there. With their hands in their pockets.<p> But wait... surely there's a 'cool' anecdote that goes with this photo.. well allow Quint to explain how the story goes..<p> "The story goes that John Landis, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd wandered over to the set of Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie during a break from shooting."<p> WOW! Goosebumps hearing that story man. Goosebumps.
-
..seeing this photo makes me wonder what direction his career would have taken..*sigh*..RIP John
-
were their next two projects after this..i would have loved to see Belushis take on these films..
-
YOU FORSAKE INTERNET PLATINUM FOR THIS DRECK!?!?!? GIVE ME WACK OFF MATERIALS@@#($)#&*$)(<br /> <br /> I'm calm now.
-
Belushi would star in Ghostbusters, igniting a five year run of Spies Like Us, Down And Out In Beverly Hills, Good Morning Vietnam, Scrooged, and Ghostbusters II....Murray would have done Splash...Hanks would return to TV for a 5 to 7 year run on Night Court...Harry Anderson would take Gallagher's spot of moderately amusing Showtime specials...Gallagher would miss his big break and od in a Beverly Hills Hotel room....would have been cool.

-
It's out there on other sites.
-
Then it would be a classic.
-
I'd like to see that Carrie Fisher pic...just saying.
-
Still a soft spot for Dan Aykroyd--and if I concentrate hard enough I can pretend YOGI BEAR 3D doesn't exist.
-
Thanks for sharing these, Quint. Loving it.
-
How could you be disappointed with this picture? You were promised The Blues Brothers meet Tommy Chong, and that's what you got. I think it's a facinating picture in the same way the Elvis meets Nixon picture is.
-
..Chewbacca grabbing Leias right tit somewhere (during the "Empire" shoot if i'm not mistaken)
-
....rubbing their cocks...and Danny is staring at Tommy's cock while stroking his own.
-
Same with Animal House. Go ahead, rip me apart.
-
I don't get the hype for this either. It's a pretty bad movie. But I love Ghostbusters.
-
Just saw Animal House for the first time (and I'm in my thirties). I understand what you mean when you say it was overrated. But you have to put into perspective the affect it had on comedy - all comedy, but specifically the screwball Academic institution comedy, all the way from Fast Times at Ridgemount High, to Police Academy, to Revenge of the Nerds, to American Pie. Much in the same way that the original Psycho isn't all that scary, in the context of film history, it's terrifying. With animal house, its hilarious, when put in the context of its era, and what it did to broad comedy. But like I said, in 2010, I have to agree, I found the comedy had a been-there-done-that feeling. You just gotta realize that they were the first to go "there", and the first to do "that".
-
Blues brothers in highly over rated, i just nenver saw it as great as everyone says, Animal house i think is better but it's not really a classic like some will want uyou to belive
-
This is amazing. NEVEr seen it. And I've seen a lot. AWESOME.
-
is a dumbass and should be banned from aicn<p>every fucking comedy since animal house came out basically copies its formula<p>and who is fisher's stunt double in the pic...she is hot
-
I bet she said no.
-
and young frankenstein are overrated...and mel brooks was a hack<p>fuck you all...go watch hannah montana
-
Don't just sit back and watch it in the context of "Hey, TV, make me laugh!" Watch in the context of MUSIC. If you like music you will love this movie. If you are a fan of Rhythm and Blues you will like this movie. If you understand that these two men, Belushi and Akroyd are the ONLY reason younger generations know the names James Brown, John Lee Hooker, Aretha Franklin and Ray fucking Charles(ok, Ray was the only one who still had a career at that point, but still) you will not only love this Movie you will respect it. "Kids these days. Whyyyyy I oughta!"
-
You know only need it to breath, but still, fuck air. Blues Brothers, amazing movie. But air? Who cares.
-
compare that to recent comedies. Hardly anything memorable let alone classic.
-
The Blues Brothers is just one of those movies from my youth I never ever get tired of, the soundtrack's great as well ;) I feel sorry for anyone who thinks the Blues Brothers is a bad movie, but not that sorry :)
-
Now this pic would consist of Justin Beaver or Timberlake, Matthew Maconawhatever, Ben Stiller, Jack Black and all the other fucktards in Hollywood who can't fill shoes for shit.
-
You just can't wrap your mind around it huh? <p> Either you're a fan of Blues Brothers and Animal House or you follow Justin Bieber's Twitter feed. <p> Right? There's no in between.
-
Classic Tommy.
-
To all of you that just don't "GET" the blues bros, i got just one word for you, SUICIDE(have a nice day)
-
SCOTTPILGRIM SUCKS MY BALLS!
-
"We're on a mission from God" <P> "Hey, I think we're parked man"
-
"No Maam, we're musicians."
-
Tommy was so high, he probably didn't know what a "Blues" Brother was
-
Them shooting the scene where the Blues mobile crashed through The Daley Center. Fucking AWESOME!
-

Caddyshack on the other hand, I never really got.

Some People Are Just Jerking Our Chicken Mannnnnnn.Blues Brothers & Animal House Are Very Enjoyable Films.I Personally To This Day Would Love To Trash A Shopping Centre Though I'd Avoid Hollister As It Is So Dark In There I'd Crash Even With Headlights On[Though I'd Take One For The Team & Risk It To Take A Few Of The Staff With Me,That Establishment Is A Next Level].Rinse The Leia Picture Officially & Move On I Say,Do It For The People :>

-
If you think the Blues Brothers is over-rated, you must be as dumb as a bag of hammers. <p> The Blues Brothers is pure unadulterated art. <p> Fucking Wow. Just wow...
-
So, people like it obviously. Why would you care if someone didn't?
-
I love movies, and have done for over 35 years; all kinds of cinema and genres.<br><br> There are movies that I absolutely LOVE to death, and there are movies that I just can't find any connection with, or that are so bloody awful that I end up hating them.<br><br> Personally, the Blues Brothers falls squarely into that category. John Landis needed his head seen to when he was making this shit. <br><br> Saying that, its an iconic movie for millions. I just failed to buy into it.
-
Slack, slumped and stupid is no way to go through life son.
-
if I had to point to a "classic comedy" and label it overrated, that'd be Stripes.

"This place has got everything!"

Holy Shit! Now people are fuckin with Stripes!
by NomoredirtyjokespleaseweareYanks
Next someone will tell me Planes, Trains and Automobiles sucks. <p> Oh the humanity...
-
- some of your inane shit before. I usually couldn't be bothered. But the fuckin' Blues Brothers man? Are you goddamn shitting me? If there was some web equivalent of a bitch-slap you my docile friend would be on the receiving end. In ten years maybe, you'll realise your stupidity and honestly be able to outdo people in lame-story contests with " Oh yeah, well I used to think Blues Brothers was over-rated." <p> heh.

I would agree with this. I ALWAYS leave this on while surfing.
-
Blues Brothers is the shit!!!
-
I know. It's just mind blowing isn't it? Not that someone even says they're bad films but has an opnion that they're overrated. <p> Again mind=blown.
-
"IN MY OPINION". A phrase you need to learn the meaning of.
-
That is funny on so many levels.
-
But I love movies like Fletch, and Three Amigos, and Spies Like Us.
-
Classics.
-
its the most underrated movie ever.

[Elwood Blues has just passed on a red light, and a police car rolls up behind them. The words are said in the same rhythm as a blues song ("Soothe Me") on the car stereo] Elwood: Shit. Jake: What? Elwood: Rollers... Jake: No. Elwood: Yeah. Jake: Shit.
-
That hardass rednecked sonofabitch. Get me Rambo.
-
How about thief with james caan! Great chicago locations!
-
