An Interesting Audition Video From A SPIDER-MAN Contender Who Didn't Get The Role!!
Merrick here...
We already know Andrew Garfield is the new Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
But many other dudes were gunning for that role...in a big way. One of these guys was Josh Hutcherson (who we'll be seeing soon in the RED DAWN remake, and have already seen in JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH). He put together a video selling himself for the part - essentially a 'proof of concept' for plugging him into the role, if I understand the intent correctly.
Latino Review has obtained and posted said video. In the end, due to a variety of factors, this production didn't save the day for Josh. But it's a mighty noble effort, an interesting insight into what could've been, and a fascinating example of the lengths people will go through to get what they want.
THIS piece at LR intellectualizes the embed below thusly...
But did you know Josh Hutcherson (JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, the upcoming RED DAWN') was once one of the top finalists?
You know how that happened?
By the cool audition piece you can now see in all it's glory below for yourselves!
Earlier yesterday, screen grabs from the audition leaked online. Thanks to an anonymous donor, we got the video.
Pretty cool huh?
Hutcherson's audition got the attention of the execs at Sony and I think a meeting or two with Webb.
I heard that up and coming fight choreographer Larnell Stovall from UNDISPUTED 3 chroeographed the gem below.
Now here's what we're talking about...

and I'm still not sure about Garfield, to be honest - although he was great in RED RIDING and he actually looks like he was drawn by Romita Sr, which is a plus!
-
other than that it was ok
-
Should cast him as a young Eddie Brock. BTW, he had the bully initially come up behind him, throwing a punch to the BACK OF HIS HEAD. No one would ever do that.

You would think super spider powers meant clear skin.

Didn't save any for soap or shampoo, unfortunately.

... but looks like a high school A/V club production of Spiderman. Doesn't make me think at all that this kid could carry Tobey's jock strap.
-
I mean, way to focus the director on your ACTING, bud.
If this was enough to grab their attention and make him a top contender, wait until they see my video of me swinging on a rope. I'm fucking IN. -
Why did they pick the dude with the long neck that's 29 and can't play a high schooler again?

Decent wire work though for presumably no budget.

Not really.

Terrible attitude about everything.
Cool video. -
Because we've already seen it in Spider-Man 1. There's no real point to these movies if they're going to re-hash the same plotpoints. Yes, I know, he did to show he could fit into the Spider-Man role, and he did that fairly well. Not a whole lot of acting range on display, but good wire work and interesting choreography. Particularly liked the sideways crouch before he kicked Flash. Very Spidey kinda move. But Peter in high school was done already. Hopefully Sony will wise-up and just have Garfield as early 20's Parker, continuing the character like a new Bond.
-
The transition from awe [at his powers] to anger [when MJ is hurt] is minimal, mostly coz he seems to be going for 'badass' when tone should be awe. Maybe it highlights lack of actor's range.

...FUCKING RETARDED

Pimples aside, that slack-lipped, opened maw, expression on homeboy's face is horrendous!

If your not complaining about Garfield being in his 20's your complaining that the actual teenager has zits on his skin. What the hell do you guys want?
Also, Blue Dog, the whole point of the audition video was that it could prove he has action chops. If the producers need proof that he can act all they have to do is go to the theater and see The Kids are Alright or pop any of the other dozens of movies he's done into the Blue Ray. But the fact is, he doesn't need to prove he can act because they've already worked with him...loads of times.

Okay. Thanks.
-
I hope the rumor is true that due to his age they've dropped the concept of starting again in high school. Because if not, the movie will be FUCKING BORING. We've seen him deal with bullies and shit already give us the Lizard... Or the Vulture... Oh wait that's what got Raimi fired never mind. Seriously this leaked video all it did was make me miss Raimi. I understand the dancing and shit in SM3 was horrible but Venom was pushed on him. The producers are the one's to blame. I just hope these people know what they are doing. Start the movie with comic book intro for credits using boxes to show all the introduction stuff the audience already knows(ex. Getting bit by spider) and then start with him working for Connors.
-
The mouth-breathing is a definite characteristic that he needs to nip in the bud ASAP. Also, he needed someone competent to direct his acting, not just choreograph his physicality. And the setting was incredibly distracting. Besides, this is only going to come across as a lame imitation of what we already have on film with Tobey McGuire. I prefer the cafeteria scene in Sky High!
-
The Amazing Spider Babe. Also no one mentions about spidey 3 that Bryce Howard's unexpected pregnancy is what led to drastic alterations to the content of film's story. I mean what the fuck was all that harry making maryjane breakup with peter craziness?!

Nice homage to SPIDER-MAN 2 with the dropping of the nerd glasse
by idrinkyourmilkshake
goddamn raimi delivered a masterpiece with Spider-man 2.You know, I hated the notion of this kid as spidey, but i SHALL admit, he did a great job with this audition.
-
I'm actually one of the few guys that wished that Josh Hutcherson would've gotten the part and this audition tape was actually quite impressive. I just wish he did more of a scene with dialogue, I think that would've gotten him the role more than if he just did a stunt audition tape. Still, I thought the line of dialogue he did do, was very good and I thought close to what Peter Parker would say. Still, it's only after I've seen Andrew Garfield in the trailer for "The Social Network" that I can let it slide that he'll be the next Spider-Man.

yeahhhhhh right. -
My word! This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages!
-
That is so fucking funny. I'm literally in hysterics.
-
You act like this guy is sending in some tape from Iowa. He doesn't need to catch the casting director's eye. He was already on the short list.
Look at his resume: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1242688/
There's a good chance the studio funded this video. It's a fight demo-- a sort of screen test. Not some pre-read audition as a cry out to get the part. Idiot haters, you're driving me crazy. -
Something about the kid just annoys me. Garfield feels like a better choice and he has a better look for it too.
-
She's the best thing about the video.
-
Let us all boycott this abortion, so that Spider-Man can properly revert back to Marvel's control, and they can work him into their established film universe.
-
Retarded. Way to stay in character, kid. PP goes all Ninja on kids in the gym, and none of them raises an eyebrow? Not even the miniskirted hottie? Can't be both a public nerd AND a public Ninja. Idiocy.

Wait another decade, at least.
-
Nice going Marvel/Sony.
-
He think's he John Matrix? More like Dudikoff on a really bad day?
-
They probably didn't care about what he could do with the fight choreography cuz Spiderman will be CG and a stunt double.
-
Better luck next time.
-
I mean come on...these films aren't that memorable in the first place...I mean AVENGERS ain't no Superman the movie...not even Howard The Duck! We had a good Spiderman film...let's just leave it at that!
-
weirdly enough, Sam Raimi made a film with Tobeyh Maquire, to show to the suits at Sony; to show that Toby could pull off all the fighting stuff - which I always thought was weird for the very reasons you list.
-
Neat, I get to watch Peter Parker pine for Mary Jane, get picked on, and finally kick some ass all over again. Hopefully Mary Jane's actually hot this time.
-
At least we dodged that bullet.
-
he didn't really showcase any acting skills. Anyone can do what he did in that video, and it just shows he can jump around and fight. If I were holding auditions, I would want to see the actor handle heavy emotion, like the Uncle Ben death scene for example, not wire fu.
-
Should've made the chick asian.
-
save it for the real villians.
-
reloaded score being used. Seemed so out of place.
-
Heck of a way to put yourself out there for something you're passionate about. And frankly, that was better wire work than I've seen in most movies.
-
...please. Just give us the classic Romita Sr. phase, full of great characters, great villains, great Peter characterizations, and a great, vibrant city setting. Make us a classic Spidey movie for the ages, not some kind of stupid teenage Twilight-chaser. Peter doesn't need to be a picked-on nerd; he was only that way for a short time early on, before becoming the active, outspoken, intense young man of the Romita days. That's the Parker that could be a real movie star.
-
...a hot Asian Mary Jane. Cast that girl Sony!
-
"organic web shooters"
-
shows you have no idea what an audition video is. How do you think Elijah Wood got a casting for Lord of the Rings? He filmed himself dressed as Frodo and sent it in. You think he would of got a call back by doing fucking "To be or not to be"?
This was a great audition tape for the spidey role despite if you think he should get it or not. -

by se7en
Agreed. More power to this guy.
-
Knew I'd seen him from somewhere, he was in that. The girl in that movie, AnnaSophia Robb, would be a great choice for Gwen Stacey. Unfortunately she's over 10 years younger than Andrew, who they've cast as Peter!
-
The reboot idea is dumb. Too soon. It's too bad Spider-Man 3 was a mess and the emo Pete part with the finger pointing just painful to watch. If Sony had vision, they'd carry on with 4 and get Peter and MJ married - and no Mephisto, thank you, Mr. Quesada.
-
....I love indies.
-
with christina hendricks as mary jane? no-one?! oh well...
-
This is the funniest thing I've seen on the internet all year. It's fucking hilarious.
-
but maybe his powers were just coming in...anyway good audition reel for the cinematographer and fight coordinator but not so much for the actor
-
...he could just keep his mouth closed for two seconds.
-
$2000? More? Reminds me of Hugh Laurie's audiction for House, which was cheapily done on a restroom in Africa. He got the job. This kid didn't.
-
... that's a nice piece. But the reality is... this is probably going to end up as "Twilight" with superheros. Rami covered all this in his first film... but the studio execs want all-teenagers-all-the-time. Golden and Silver age SPIDER-MAN really got into the post high school years and became much meatier... but alas, that is not going to be. High school boys fighting over high school girls... vampires, werewolves, and now superheros... SPIDER-MAN MOVIES, WE HARDLY KNEW YE...
-
the kid had some definite Spidey-type moves in there, but Garfield looks closer to how Peter's been drawn since Romita, Sr.-he's even closer than Maguire! As far as which version of Spidey this new movie should be; I'd be up for the Bendis/Ultimate Spider-Man or the JMS/Spider-Man...but let's face it, as long as the producers are the same-Arad & Ziskin- there 'aint a chance in hell of getting anywhere close to either. And they'll still probably eff up the costume & give him organic webshooters too.
-
I gotta applaud him for that. But he didn't really 'get' (or he should've done more with) the Peter Parker as the high school kid part. The Peter Parker character is what makes the stories great, not Spiderman. He just dressed the part of a generic nerd and then made a somewhat generic action stunt video. Next time, whip up some dialog...
And it didn't help that he looked like he was breathing through his mouth the whole time. -
I hope this wasn't made by the team behind the new movie..?
-
Yeah, the facial expressions don't work at all. The writing and direction are weak, but then, this isn't a writer's or director's audition. It succeeds in suggesting this guy could be believable in the part, but not in making me want to see him actually play it.
-
Guy has his mouth half open all the time. No expression. It's impossible for him to look tough no matter how hard he tries.
I just don't see it. -
Thanks for the laughs weirdo.
-
I was still holding out for Donald Glover to be the new spiderman... oh well... maybe for the next reboot
-
Glad he didn't get the role.
Two things :
1.were those pimples make up?
2.is he taking HGH? His face is kind of morphing into the Simpsons version of Ken Griffey Jr.. -
Yes, the mouth breathing looks ridiculous. Yes, he should've taken care of his skin before making this. And yes, there's no indication of acting talent, and recreating scenes from the previous films was lame. Nevertheless.... keep in mind that HE'S A FUCKING TEENAGER. And teenagers do stupid shit all the time in an effort to look 'badass'. Let's just let it go.
-
do you think any of those high school kids were left in any doubt as to parker's alter ego
-
or practical effects?
-
this one:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=tobey+maguire+spiderman+screen+test&aq=0 -
(1) I agree with the talkbackers who said this audition tape seems to demonstrate fight choreography more than it does acting. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a second scene after this one that focuses on dialogue and character. If this fight scene alone was his audition tape, he never had a chance. However, maybe they met with this kid to get the names of the individuals who helped him stage the fight....maybe they hired someone behind the scenes. That at least explains why they met with this kid. (2) I really, really hope that SCOTTPILGRIMFAN actually sees Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World during its opening weekend. Now, I realize that he'll still act like he saw it even if he doesn't, but I really do hope he sees it.
-
Spider-Mad-Man?
-
Great effort from an actor going after a role!
-
You're a sad little freak who lives for responses from others in Talk backs. I pity you.
-
Really well done, anyone who did this like he did would be proud of the entire thing. To the haters, you guys are haters regardless of what anyone else does.
-
But the guy himself makes a pretty creepy Peter Parker.
-
Would have a great audition. Jumping up and around like that, saving them all time having to do special effects? It would be like "he was the only choice, really."
-
You're wrong about him.
-
A very solid pitch. And I liked the Creepy Parker. I think that would actually be pretty believable.
-
I pity the fool! Get his spotty chops in a ZITS advert
-
Thanks for setting me straight about "Scott" I only had his intelligent post calling the actor a "Loser" and "Thanks for the laughs weirdo." I can see I am wrong about him.
-
Now you're right.
-
probably wouldve got the gig had he not just rehashed that scene from the first movieand there is very little parker here and lots of spideyand the way the suits are trying to sell the movie, is that you will see the difference between parker and spidey
-
crazy to show an action scene for your acting ability. do a parker role, any fool in a suit could double for the fighting.
-
anyone auditioning for the role of james bond has to do two scenes from "from russia with love". one acting scene and one action scene.not that much of a stretch that this kid might try doing an action scene similar to previous spider-man scenes
-
of Raimi's hallway fight, right down to the slo-mo dodges. Hope they take this in a new direction than a straightforward rehash origin story of Spiderman. At least Bryan Singer had the sense to pick up on Supes tale mid-story.
-
When Parker puts the mask on, he's the biggest smart ass around. Not a whiney boy from New Jersey.
-
because the only way he could have been in this video was to put on a wig and play MJ. He's too fucking lame to even play one of the lameass bullies getting his ass kicked. SHITPENGUINFAN would get his ass handed to him by the average kid in nursery school.

by speed fricassee
And slow-mo shots get old quick. I wouldn't have even finished the audition tape if I were an Sony exec. I also never would have allowed them to cast Tobey for the series.

That guy sucks ass. Jesus Christ, he sucked ass.

Why does this site continue to ignore the buzz over casting a Korean Spider-Man: Peter Park!
-
What a dork!
-
No...no....no...this is terrible....Hutcherson LOOKS in every way terrible..(aesthetics thru' to the 'facial' acting). Let's face it...this idea of re-making Spiderman is 'recession Hollywood filmaking' - i.e studios are too scared to take risks by pouring money into fresh ideas, and instead choose 'existing' franchises (safe!). You can also bet that Hutcherson's 'people' wanted this 'out there' - for PR reasons - ("look, our guy got close to bagging the new Spiderman role !")...

Actors that make videos to sell themselves for a role
by chuck_chuckwalla
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sean Young went to extreme lengths to get Tim Burton's attention so that he could cast her in Batman Begins as Catwoman. She went so far as dressing up as the character in tight leather and going on a TV show to promote herself, only to be dismissed when they handed the role to Michelle Pfeiffer. She later drifted into obscurity as an actress probably because everyone in Hollywood thought she was a nut-job. On the other side of the coin, Elijah Wood did a short film of himself as Frodo and it worked.
-
A geek fantasy of beating up bullies and winning the girl put to music and billed as a Spiderman audition tape? I thought acting auditions were supposed to contain...acting.
-
...Italian Spiderman! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhHhXukovMU
-
Marvel Studios only has the film rights to Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers movie. Sure, they got the film rights of Punisher back but Spider-Man's film rights still belong to Sony/Columbia. So, if you're going to get pissed off at a studio for some reason, in this case it should be Sony! I'd bet the farm that if Marvel had owned the film rights to Spider-Man, we'd be getting a fourth Spider-Man from Raimi right now instead of a reboot. Most of Marvel characters film rights still belong to Fox, Sony/Columbia, and maybe New Line Cinema who owns (or owned) Blade. As of right now, Universal and Lionsgate lost the rights to Hulk and Punisher respectively to Marvel.
-
Considering the effort that went into putting the fight scene together it would have taken them no time at all to do an 'acting' scene using dialogue from another Spidey movie.
-
And this is why I am not looking forward to the Spider-Man reboot - because we are all going back to college and Spidey is going to be young and there's going to be jocks and all that American college bollocks that the rest of the world can't relate to. We don't need it. It's been done. Unless, SM4 can move the story forwards we are just going over old ground. Ahhh...it's going to be a steaming pile of crap, isn't it?
-
Ok, this guy did his BEST to try and get the part. Gotta hand it to him, it looks like he busted his ass to get the part. Good for him. Hopefully it will pay off for him in other ways. The sad things is that the director of this audition tape should have told him was that he was making "monkey" faces as he grunted and frolicked around on the mats. He went to a lot of trouble to try and get this part, and his "director" should have let him know that he was making monkey-like faces and the he needed to stop doing that. That's part of the director's job. This "director" didn't do him any favors. --- Now if they were holding auditions for MonkeyMan.... hmmm....

for fresh ideas", like every single film coming out is a remake. Yeah, there's alot of remakes, but for every remake or sequel there's an Inception, Dinner for Schmucks, Despicable Me, Cyrus, The Kids Are All Right, etc. All original films. Rehashed ideas? Maybe, but Hollywood was rehashing ideas in the '50's. Btw, if you hate Hollywood so much, then why come to a FILM website? Dumbasses.
-
Bring Danny Elfman back!
-
Video outright fucking proves it, but i i do have an issue. after he put down the first guy the other guys wouldnt have come after him. He dropped the biggest fucker on his ass. Usually the shirt tuggers run away or walk off like they saw nothing. Also by the time the other guys fight got sdtarted it went into radfuckingdiculous land. They saw him do all that shit and they still wanted to fight. And the chick was still worried for him. Hahaha, no.. Thats hollywood for ya. I dont mind seeing spiderman do shit liek that but it's gotta be against a real villain not some highschool bullies. Those citizen types dont stay around after someone runs up a wall and back flips behind them. So um yeah, Josdh was the right choice, bar none he's younger the series would last longer with him in the role, his face is good for the character and he doesnt have a fucking giraffee neck like that brit twit fucker you guys went with. Fuck your choice sony! It sucks!
-
oh dear god, condorman. no. says emeraldboy moving towards the window ledge.
-
Damn some people. He was trying to look like your avaerage teen outcast/nerd.
-
For a movie where the majority of the stunts are going to be a stuntman in a costume or CGI, I'm sure the producers weren't out there trying to figure out which kid is going to be able to do the best wire work.
-
Dinner for Schmucks is a remake. Not that that takes away from your point, I just thought I'd be anal and bring that up.
-
In fact, I think I have the DVD.
-
Teh greatest American Hero needs movie. Almost happened. I picture Anton Yelchion in the role, or that other guy who doesnt look dorky enough. Of all the super hero franchises to ignore. Greatest is has a great plot to play with. Drama Teacher's bus breaks down on a field trip, could be the grand canon or something. aliens give him a suit that makes him super human, but he loses the instructions. He becomes the most dorked out fucking superhero ever, and he constantly fucks things up. He gets the instruction back near the end, he reads the shrinking directions. And both him and book shrink. He reads the gowing directions, but he drops the book whne he begins growing. directions are lost again. On wiht the sequel!
-
more unreadable shit ala me.
-
I never said I hated Hollywood did I? There's actually no need for calling me (singular) - 'dumbasses' (plural). I agree with you on the ratio - what I am saying is - wouldn't you rather see considerably LESS reboots/reimaginings/remakes ? Yep..so the studios can spend the money on more films like the ones you have listed. Chill! Do you want to see POTC 4? Probably not. And a reboot of Spiderman already? Do me a favour....
-
Sober up for awhile before you post, buddy. I say this with love and concern.
-
of greediness with all those remakes and reboots, then comes Blizzard with their 1/3 Starcraft 2 videogames.Bravo Blizzard you achieved the impossible, bravo.
-
who think this has any relevance to the actual content of the reboot?
This is an actor's audition tape!
Small minds. -
I fell a little bit in love with him in that Jumanji-in-space film..
-
I'd love to hear some original ideas about a new story from some of you who say you are so pissed off about remakes and reboots. I know I don't have any, and yeah it does get a little annoying but no one is forcing you to see the remakes and reboots and all that. Shit so much has been done already it has to seem like a rehash. I mean movies in space will always be in someway compared to star wars, superhero flicks will be compared to other superhero flicks. There's always a gem like Inception that is something you have never really seen before and thank god, but stop bitchin about lack of originality if you can't help with the problem
-
He is secretly a ninja.
-
I like that kid. Especially his pimples. They cast the wrong kid.
-
I like how we can sit back and judge but at least he was willing to look like an idiot to get a part in a movie that could have netted him millions! But the kid can relax he's an upcoming actor and so far he earning his way through Hollywood w/o a rich daddy like Will Smith and Tom Hank sons!
-
He is a great young actor. Sorry he didn't get the part and it went to a 40 year old or whatever in this shitty shitty cash in that's only being made so Sony can hang on to the franchise rights so they don't revert back to Marvel so we don't get a break from Spiderman until Marvel gets another actual filmmaker to make an actual film.I won't be seeing this. I wouldn't even if Josh had been in it, but still. I care about as much as Blizzard cares about gamers.
-
Great to see some fight choreography that isn't WAY overeddited too (coughGreengrasscough).
-
I want the whole world to see this clip. It's just hilarious. And he was completely shit in Zathura wasn't he, especially when he was reacting to the meteor shower. What a hopeless fucking loser.

Come on, after a display like that? Fade to black, roll credits, cuz even Dom Deloise's corpse would be able to tell that Parker was Spiderman after that. That's why he didn't get the role. No concept of the character. Oh, and cuz that chick sucked taint.

lost it for me, not a bad audition for a random action film, but surely not the next spiderman? Do we really need to see peter parker once again go from the nerdy kid to "wow i can fight and have powers thing" AGAIN!? Sure reboot the story but reboot it from him being spiderman not from him becoming spiderman...If this is the angle they're going for, wire-fights, slow motion etc..then......um...yeah.
-
Probably should have read the above article fully, didn't realise he put it together himself. In which case, fingers crossed no one connected with the new spiderman saw this and thought, wow good ideas.
-
thrown in the dirt and kicked in the face. not much worse than that pencil neck 40 year old they actually got though.
-
why did the guys attack him one at a time, just surround him and beat his skull in as a team
-
That film is dead, I don't even think it made it to post before MGM went bust.
-
I'm picturing the opening credits will have a montage of the "Raimi Trilogy" and then have the camera fade to Mephisto's realm and he'll have this long drawn-out soliloquy about Peter Parker and how he's been watching him all this time... and then with a wave of his hand, he'll wipe the slate clean and voila, the film begins. Brilliant, no? heh...

That short clip was better than most of Spider-Man 3.
-
That was a cool video & a great effort.
-
than most of Spider-Man 3!"Well, it is kinda true!
-
young career but unfortunately for him life who has room for only one winner decided otherwise.ohhh what a pity.its ok dude, dont worry the american dream will give you again the chance in some other big movie.maybe the movie adaptation of the Tick.yes i am a heartless cynical asshole.fuck off.
-
The kid from "Sky High" and "The Forbidden Kingdom".
-
...anyone who doesn't want him for Parker after that stellar performance is out of their tiny minds. Marvel got it right for once.
-
As a stunt double. You have to admit, he was pretty good at the action.
-
Leaving his mouth open to catch flies.
-
But I enjoyed the sense of amazement as he fought off Flash Thompson. This kid did okay, but he was already convinced that he was The Terminator. Can't blame him for trying, though.
-
Makes you wonder if he didn't get picked how awesome the person who did could be.
-
and yeah he didn't get the spiderman gig, but you can be damn sure that he'll get something out of this. some studio exec is going to see this and say 'get me that kid' for such and such movie.
-
He didn't get it because he's got a face like a pitbull licking a battery.
It mighyt have helped if he showed his acting skills more too, instead of doing the stuff that the special effects guys will be doing.
But, at least he tried! Gotta give him credit for that. -
yes yes, ok he was a teen in the comics too, but do we really need high school musical spidey?
-
The new Spiderman is horrible. Way to old, and way to tall. I mean how hard it is it for find a nerd who can act?
-
..it was a "fight" audition tape. NOT a simple audition tape, this kid's already been in movies. This was simply to show he could do the physical part of the movie. He's an established actor, and I'm *pretty* sure the zits and unwashed hair were done on purpose for the sake of playing a high school nerd. For reference, please see your high school pictures..
-
I could see him play a young version but not Peter Parker. Maybe Colossus or Wolverine or something. At this stage after the tourments of Tobey Maguire, we need a fun Spidey.
-
What are you going to get, Spidey having to bail halfway through a fight with Sandman because he's late on a mortage payment and then has to go to his kid's little league game and marriage counciling with MJ? that sounds like fun.
-
if you were in a fight with a guy and he jumped 10 feet off the ground on to a locker wouldnt you just give up and call it a day? I like the look of what they did there but its seeming more cartoony like the dancing in Spiderman 3. In real life nothing like that is happening even with the extraordinary thrown in. If they want to go the batman route and make a realistic comic movie this aint even close to it
-
Now do the Crane Kick to finish him off Peter!
-
she can fuckin act. She's great in The Kids Are All Right, In Treatment, and the cool zombie short I Love Sarah Jane. Right age..well, not compared to who they cast as Spidey hah, but yeah.
I reckon Hutcherson's acting in this woulda been ok if he'd just leavened it with a smile and a wisecrack a little earlier on. The taking-it-all-very-seriously worked at first but then he kinda came across like a frustrated school- shooter -
they jumped straight into the talkback to spew out some bile hate for yet another person they are jealous as fuck over that is doing something they would never have the skill or balls to do themselves.
-
I'm a big fan of the kid. He was solid in a load of kid movies. Zathura, Journey at the Center of the Earth and let's not forget the phenomenal Bridge to Terabithia. I like how someone says the kid will never act yet he has been in tons of movies lately. He's clearly going through puberty but the kid knows how to act and he would have fit nicely as Peter Parker. Michael Angarano or whatever would have been a poor choice. In all of his movies, he has the same stupid mannerisms. I loved Sky High but after seeing him in Snow Angels, I really began to catch on to what he does with his acting and it really bugs me now.
-
Yawn. Yawn yawn YAWN. I wish they would stop making superhero films.
-
What was with the goofy look on his face the whole video? Total hokum.

No matter how much my nerdbusting friends and I hate nerds
by jackiejokeman
When the guy we're beating up jumps and has an 8 foot vertical leap we're going to stop nerdbusting and talk about that. Not just regroup and try to get him again.

Because they were the only ones that knew his secret identidy
-
would have been a bad choice. I bet those guy gave him an atomic wedgie then butt pounded her after the shoot.
-
Mixes are adorables.
-
Fuck y'all.
-
Sorry. Fuckers.
-
I liked that he had some acne on his chin. What's with the bitchin'??
This kid can act. We already know that from his previous films. If they were going for a High-School Spidey, why the heck didn't they choose him?? The 30-year-old is "cute" and all, but NO WAY a highschool student. Sorry, I don't buy it and I'm far from being interested in Spider-Man 4 (or what ever it will be called). To hell with the haters. And SS, who are you? You stole my name!!! You better be a huge SnitchSeeker dot com fan or I will hunt you down! -
Keep him on file for the Harry Potter remakes..
-
What have YOU done lately? What have you risked? Attempted? Created? Inspired? Failed at? Delivered? My respect goes to the doers. Even their greatest failure has more value than your criticism of it.
-
seriously that is an incredible post. right on the money.

sorry guys,it didnt work for the nazis during the Nuremberg trial and as sure as hell it is not going to work here either. In other words,i can laugh and criticize the dude's miserably failed attempt to get the Peter Parker role as harshly as i want without giving a fuck if the dude did more and cooler things in his life than me in my own life.ha he ho.
-
Anything better than the retard the got. What is he . . . 30 or something? lol Whatever.
-
Awesome, but at least post the dang thing in the proper aspect ratio. Amateurs.
-
It's a shame he didn't get it. Also to people who are completely inept.. go read snitchseeker's post. It sums it up.
-
Bryan Cranston....as Norman Osbourne...you want me to see this potentially garbage remake? Make it worthwhile HOLLYWOOD!!!
-
Enough snark and internet vomit in here to drown an army. Hold your breath until you do something half as motivated for yourselves. Good luck to him for something else.
-
Every other competing website has reported this. They didn't even have a panel at Comic Con where they could've exploited Chris Hemsworth Thor appearance. Why is AICN continually reported the "soon-to-be-release" Red Dawn movie when it's been shelved?
-
http://bit.ly/9gNwsf
-
That was stupid. No one wants that movie and there was nothing interesting or stand out about it.
-
Who is she? An actress who works in the movie? An actress whod din't get the part? A wannabe-actress? A stunt girl who was the prettier of the bunch and thus they put in the demo reel? Somebody's assistant who is good looking to be in front fo a camera and look good? Who is she? Inquiring minds want to know.
-
He actually looks like an AICN member fighting for the last Crispy Creme before the big Starcraft tournament.
-
Nothing new there. Seen it. Been there, done that. Someone get Josh some Clearasil.
-
She is most likely a friend of Hutcherson's. Keep in mind that all of these proof of concept reels are paid for by the actors themselves. Even rock stars have to pay for their own videos. It's more than likely everyone involved in this production, being employed by the kid himself, is someone he already knows from the business. She's probably an actor friend of his. Or maybe they are repped by the same agency. I find it hard to believe he'd hold auditions for a part in an audition tape which was meant to benefit himself.
