Comic-Con!! Red 5 Comics To Bring Us THE LOST ROOM: SEASON TWO!!

Published at:  Jul 23, 2010 10:58:47 PM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

“The Lost Room” creators Laura Harkcom and Chris Leone just announced at the Comic Con edition of “The Totally Rad Show” that “The Lost Room: Season II” will be published next year by Red 5 Comics.

That’s pretty much all I know about it so far. Except I’ve been told the comic will suck me into the “Lost Room” universe, which of course pleases me no end.

The “Lost Room” miniseries was, I thought, up there with “Battlestar Galactica” as one of the best Sci-Fi Channel originals ever produced. I am amazed the channel never got around to greenlighting its own second season.

(It certainly didn’t lack for star power. “Lost Room” lead Peter Krause has lately been winning his timeslot on NBC’s “Parenthood,” which at midseason began beating fellow “Lost Room” star Juliana Margulies’ CBS smash “The Good Wife.”)

    I had given up hope

I loved The Lost Room to no end. I never thought I'd get any sort of continuation. I can't wait to get a definitive list of objects and combos and hot damn is this good news.

Wow, Red 5 dropping Star Wars already?

Wasn't this comic book "company" inspired by SW?

Red 5 never had Star Wars.

    by thesecondquest

It was started by former Lucas employees, though, who had worked on starwars.com and for Dark Horse Comics on Star Wars material. Red 5's biggest hit is still the amazing Atomic Robo series, but they've put out some other awesome stuff like Neozoic and Abyss.

Could They Have Afforded That Much Star Power For Much Longer?

I really liked this show too, and they created a world with so much potential for further stories. But I always thought the cast was either too expensive, or would have too many offers for higher profile jobs, for Sci-Fi to turn it into a regular series. Still, would have been nice to see it happen.

The Lost Room was an excellent series

    by buffywrestling

that no one watched. It must have had some Canadian connection because they replayed the series much longer here than they did in the States.

[In Canada, there must be a certain percentage of Canadian content on each channel - Fortunatly for us, the UK & Australia are considered into that percentage.]

  • Nothing better exemplifies the absence of creative leadership at Syfy than the failure to give this show another chance.

Syfy is one of the few cable outlets I have seen that has an adversarial relationship with its viewers. The executives clearly don't want to be running a science fiction channel——and the viewers wish the executives weren't running the channel.

Hey Paul Allen, you're big into science fiction with your museum and everything. Interested in starting a niche outlet for science fiction with management devoted to the genre?
