Herc’s Seen The CW’s NIKITA!! What Did the Comic-Con Delegates Think??

The convention kicked off Wednesday night with a three-hour Warner Bros. event that included a screening of the first episode of the CW’s new fall series “Nikita.”
I'm not certain if the Comic Con crowd saw the same version of the pilot I saw, but I liked the version I saw about as much as I liked what I’ve seen of the 1997 “La Femme Nikita” series. It has nowhere near the wit and imagination supplied by 1990 Luc Besson movie on which it is based -- but what does?
Unlike the old TV show and 1993’s “Point of No Return,” the new series is more sequel than remake, with Nikita (now played by Maggie Q) having escaped from her old espionage job. She’s now determined to destroy her old agency, even as that agency is training a new girl named Alex to replace Nikita. Alex is played by the piping hot Lyndsy Fonseca (“Big Love,” “Desperate Housewives”), one of the best things about the project.
If you saw the “Nikita” pilot screened by Comic Con Wednesday night, kindly offer your reaction to talkback. If you missed it, and you don’t care about Jon Faverau’s “Cowboys and Aliens” presentation in Hall H, Comic-Con screens “Nikita” again 5:15 p.m. Saturday in room 6BCF.
(The best fall pilot I’ve seen so far – and I think I’ve seen most of them – is NBC’s “The Event,” which screens Saturday in room 6A at 11:15 a.m. It’s kind of a cross between “Lost” and “24” and far better than I was expecting.)
"Nikita" launches on The CW Sept. 9.

since the '97 version was a nice diversion, and Fonseca and MILF-y Melinda Clark are undoubtedly hot. Xander Berkely usually brings something to the table as well. Don't know how the perpetually pissed-looking Shane West gets work, though.

Tom Cruise is in discussions to make a realtiy tv show about his life with katie holmes. to show what happens in thier lives. this will be the tom cruise show and tom will veto any decision he dosent like and there will be alot of stuff out of bounds. the tom and katie the tv show is coming to a tv near you soon.

This show looks nothing like the movie or show and nobody outside of a select few people even remember the show or the movie so why not just make it something new? Oh that's right we're not allowed to do that.
*producers note* we only like making things that are based on other things other than scripts. That way we don't have to ever learn to read. -

the promo I saw has a skinny oriental girl in high heels holding a gun. If she is the lead, that is not the physical type for the role.
After all she is supposed to be a highly trained assassin. She should look way tougher and fit. I liked the previous TV and movie versions. If done right, could be again an entertaining show. -
What the hell are you all smoking. Chick has a face like a horse. Can't even call her a butter face, because she doesn't even have a nice body to compensate. I'll only watch this if we are guaranteed many many fight scenes in which Lyndsy Foncesca kicks the ever loving shit out of Q and forces her to get a real last name. Who does this skinny ho think she is, McG?

In that The Event is the best pilot of the season so far according to Herc. That means it won't last..damn Herc Curse!
I need some replacement shows, my regular tv watching lineup took a big hit this year. -

That's the one new show I'm really looking forward to. Bring me a good conspiracy and I'll watch it.Now about Le Femme Nikita. I'm a big fan of the original Le Femme Nikita. The first TV stab at the story with Pita Wilson as Nikita, still watered down the character. Nikita was a drug addict and a murderer (she was going through heroine withdrawals at the time but still...) she was NOT an innocent bystander blamed for a murder. Nikita was also vicious and a little psychotic. She was an interesting character. It really bugs me that TV execs don't have the balls to do Le Femme Nikita correctly, so until a true version comes out, I'm skipping all the pale imitations.
