Comic-Con horror fans! Want to see the shelved fest favorite ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE Thursday night?
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The good people behind the sweet horror flick ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE (starring Amber Heard before she started being cast in the likes of ZOMBIELAND, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS and the upcoming THE WARD from John Carpenter, THE RUM DIARY against Johnny Depp and DRIVE ANGRY 3-D against Nic Cage) that was picked up by the Weinsteins back in the day and shelved for the same reasons they shelved 80% of the stuff they picked up from fests... I guess a gnome or leprechaun told them to. That's my theory.
Anyway, it's a great little horror flick that no one got to see on the big screen outside of film fest audiences.
The producers of the film are bringing a print to Comic-Con and are renting out a theater to house some lucky Comic-Con fans who will see the full feature on the big screen as well as some footage from an unannounced upcoming martial arts flicks "starring some familiar faces." The screening is at 12:15am Friday morning/Thursday night at the Pacific Gaslamp.
They're giving 60 seats to AICN readers attending the Con, so if you're free and want to have some late night scares (and be the first to see some new footage from an upcoming flick) all you gotta do is email this address right here with your name and the names of your guests.
They'll let you know if you're in for the screening ASAP!

This is available on Blu-ray from Amazon UK. It's region free, so it will play in my PS3, but the special features aren't playable. Overall, I thought it was a decent slasher, but nothing spectacular. Worth watching though and if you can import the Blu-ray for less than $20 from the UK, it's worth it for die hard horror and slasher fans. Always great to see Amber Heard as well.

One half of the audience will leave after a few minutes, when they remember that they torrented that movie years ago, the other half will give a mild applause in the end, while they shrug and say to their seat neighbours: "Yeah, it was okay, but I don't know why they made such a fuzz about it."

I forgot about this flick, had heard decent things a couple years ago and then it just dropped off the face of the earth. Finally that mystery has been solved for me, now to find a copy of it so I can finally watch the god damned thing.

Not until they've been cast. That Joseph Gordon Levitt rumour's been around for ages. Same as Marion Cottilard for Catwoman. Just because he's worked with them already. <p> I'm not saying it couldn't end up a reality. But given how guarded Nolan is, you can't say AICN has dropped the ball OR that he's a top condsideration. Because you don't know.

Because I think I've been hearing about it most of my adult life, and it still hasn't seen the light of day. Jesus, they put every Samuel L. Jackson crap straight to DVD, so I can't imagine this is much worse. Could it?

if you want to really 'see' amber heard, just see 'the informers'. it's written by bret easton ellis of the american psycho fame, and has an all star cast of mickey rourke, kim basinger, billy bob thorton, rhys ifan, winona rider, etc etc... <p> huh what? the informers sucks you said? i didnt even notice that, was busy seeing amber heard naked the entire time, literally.. she was naked throughout the whole film.

...they shelved it? Because it's a poor movie. Stupid characters, unbelievable actions, no tension or scares and a stupid twist.
