The first 2 have made over a bilion dollars worldwide, usually when that happens your given a third try in the producers hopes that more money will come in. People can say Bay raped their childhoods but can you honestly say you don't know why he's back as director?

You're absolutely right about the film crew being douchey. I work a couple blocks from this and it has added an extra half hour to my commute for the past two weeks because some pimply fanboy asshole volunteer always makes me take an eight block detour instead of walking the one block to my office. I can't wait for them to get the hell out of Chicago.

These days, I refuse to watch anything that does not have at least some level of artistic merit. Films either (1) have to make me think (hey, imagine that!) or (2) provide a sensory experience, an immersive world, so to speak. Bay's films, unfortunately, convey neither of these qualities. Technically, he is sound, and he is gifted with special effects, but there is no imagination, and worse, no story to his films.

Transformers 2 was actually better than 1. But they were both perhaps the worst movies I saw in their respective years. Transformers 1 was impenetrable. It was a 2 hour long trailer. I will probably see Transformers 3 on DVD.

I just hope they greenlight a sequel, although I am not sure how likely that is considering that it probably is not going to break $100 million in the US....a shame people don't know a good movie when they see it, I guess they would just rather see Bay blowing up shit instead of good actors playing good characters doing it but better. I didn't care for Smokin Aces much, but Carnahan totally redeemed himself with The A Team, and he gets rewarded with mediocre box office, yet the public eats up Bay's movies....go figure.

I do. I sit down to a Bay movie, unplug my brain, and get stupidly entertained for a couple of hours. That's all Bay's good for, it's all he's ever been good for, and I love him for it. I like some Argento and Herzog too. But for that sheer kick-back-and-enjoy factor, it's gotta be Bay. Fuck the haters!

Different writer this time, its someone called Ehren Kruger, who apparently wrote Arlington Road, which was a very well written film IMO...of course that means nothing when your working with Bay.<P>I also saw in the IMDB page that the new chick, Rosie whatever, is not a NEW g/f for Shia the beef, but is playing Megan Fox's part, that just makes it worse, replace a hot chick with little acting ability with a not as hot chick with NO acting experience at all and have her play the same character...stupid, flat out stupid.

Arlington Road and the 1sr Ring remake were decent. But this bastard wrote Scream 3 and The Skeleton Key... I have no faith that he actually wrote a coherent and engaging script. So far it seems like his scripts are made by whoever is directing them. Gore Verbinski's visual flair saved The Ring remake. Wes did his best with the bloodless and comedic Scream 3. And finally according to the writers of Transformers 2, Bay mangled their script. I expect him to do the same here.

No this isn't about Transformers 3. Nevertheless, gotta get it off my chest. Why are so many morons on here saying that wanting the "Lost" finale to have answers is akin to wanting to know that "Midichlorians" were behind The Force? First of all, Star Wars was not a mystery movie, it was an science fiction/action movie. The whole movie did not have characters saying "What is the mystery of the Force? Why can only Jedis use it? Where did it come from?" nor did plot points hinge on inconsistencies with the Force. In other words, no one asked for Midichlorians. However, "Lost" DID raise such mysteries. What is the island, what is the smoke monster, what are "the rules," why can't women get pregnant, etc. So it stands to reason that one would expect those questions be answered. If you're going to compare the "Lost" finale to Star Wars then the analogy should be that, after Darth Vader tells Luke that he is his father, it is never again mentioned by anyone, and the series concludes with never knowing how or why the father of the story's hero became the story's villain. That's all I have to say. Oh wait, one more thing... all you asshole talkbackers bragging about being on unemployment (which, at 30 months, is not unemployment but WELFARE), it's time that you show some goddamned respect to us taxpayers and stop bragging about being on it. Any man who is on unemployment HAS NO PENIS and EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. You're just like the Harley Drivers in that South Park episode where everyone is calling them "fags" but they think they're cool because their motorcycles are loud. The only people who don't like the Transformer movies are the haters on this site and a few sad critics. I loved both movies and I will definitely see number three. Bay took a crappy old cartoon and made something great, so get over it. If I win the lottery, I will personally finance a 4th Transformer movie. It ain't Shakespeare, but it's a lot of fun. You know this to be true. The more you deny it, the more you prove your love for these films.

You are an idiot. I have liked other Bay movies quite a bit, but I disliked Transformers. There was nothing really good to say about it... it was just soulless and not even exciting as a Bay action film. I was quite let down by it. Your viewpoint is simplistic, as is your understanding of the subtleties of what makes a film work or not. If explosions alone make you happy, well, fine. But don't pretend you know anything about movies based only on that type of credential.
