A Few More TRANSFORMERS 3 Filming Pics! + The Supercool TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON Game Is On Sale For A Few More Hours...

Merrick here...
More set pics from TRANSFORMERS 3's Chicago shoot are online over at The Chive (HERE). Pretty much the same thing we've been seeing over the past few days, although this set of images does reveal something about the armored race cars we've seen in previous pics. We've seen only one so far (to the best of my knowledge) but, evidently, it's actually part of a squad...or herd...or gaggle...or whatever groups sentient morphing weaponized vehicles travel in. Click on the racers below to see more shots from the filming. I have no idea how these will work out in the final film, but at face value they're dopey as hell...and kinda cool.
Meanwhile, Amazon has made the recently released TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON (XBOX 360, PS3) video game its Gold Box special for today only - its price has been dropped from $56.99 to $42.98. Is the game perfect? Not by a long shot - but it's a helluva lot of fun, easily the best TRANSFORMERS video game ever released, and it's the only title I've played all the way through in the last...four year or so. WAR FOR CYBERTRON is bigger, more hardcore, and more inventive than anything we've seen in any TRANSFORMERS films to date...or anything we're likely to see in the future. 1/2 of the sprawling campaign mode (set above, beneath, and on the surface of Cybertron) is playable as one of multiple Decepticons...the second half of the campaign allows you to choose your Autobot character. You can switch these characters as you go, and even change difficulty levels. There's also a wild and wooly online element. By the way, if you pick up the game, check out its fun closing credits - and be sure to detach those big-ass gun turrets you'll see sitting around. Imagine being a Transformer walking around with the equivalent of the Death Star's anti-aircraft canons...blasting the shit out of enemies who explode, vaporise, and even splatter on your screen. IGN posted another assessment of WAR FOR CYBERTRON HERE. You can find the sale-priced game itself HERE for the next 9 or 10 hours or so.
