AICN COMICS: Alright Horror Fans, are you going to SDCC? Ambush Bug is and he's hosting another horror panel!!!

Hey folks, Ambush Bug here. So I’m going to be at SDCC again this year and along with me, my buddy and fellow @$$Hole superhero and the rest of the AICN crew are going to be tearing up the booths and panels reporting our little fingers off. I’m going to be out there from Wednesday through Sunday and it looks to be another fantastic con this year. Look for the column extra early tomorrow because I'm catching the 5am plane from Chicago to San Diego and I'm posting in the wee hours so as not to deprive the Faithful Talkbackers of their AICN COMICS fix.
Much like last year where I hosted a chat about comics and horror with some fantastically talented chaps, I’ve teamed up with producer Peter Katz again to put together a panel full of horror’s up and coming voices. We’re calling it “Horror Filmmakers Discuss the Art of Fear” and we’re going to see what it takes to make horror in today’s Hollywood. Slated to be on the panel are:
Kevin Grevioux (Co-writer/actor of UNDERWORLD and creator of I, FRANKENSTEIN) Dan Myrick (Co-writer/Co-director of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) Todd Farmer (Scriptwriter of MY BLOODY VALENTINE remake) Adam Gierasch (NIGHT OF THE DEMONS remake director and co-writer) Jace Anderson (Co-writer of NIGHT OF THE DEMONS remake) Steven C. Miller (Director of AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION & SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE) and Ben Ketai (Scriptwriter / director of DARK DAYS: 30 DAYS OF NIGHT 2).
I want to invite all who are attending the comic con to stop by the Marriott Hotel in the Marriott Hall 2. It is right next door to the Convention Center (at the Hall A end). The address is 333 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101. This panel will take place on Thursday, July 22 at 4:00pm-5:00pm. The event will be filmed and pics a plenty will be snapped. So come dressed in your favorite horror get up and I’ll post them here on AICN!
superhero and I will be at the con all week, so drop us a line if you want us to stop by your booth, give us free schwag, or just shoot the merde about comics over beers and unhealthy food. I’ll be reporting all week from San Diego, so look for updates starting tomorrow. So if you can’t make it, I’ll give you the next best thing by reporting all that I see, hear, smell, and drink while at the con. Hope to see you all there!

With widespread SDCC coverage, why go?

    by teethgnasher

It's gonna be on G4 this weekend. There are even i-phone apps with cool pics. Not to mention the internet sites posting pics. Airlines suck plain and simple. It's not like you can load that stuff you find at SDCC on an airline. Would you trust Delta or AA with a Sideshow statue?

Isn't Wondercon the better con anyway

    by teethgnasher

go to hotel circle....then take the tram into downtown...i think it runs every half hour
never understood why people had such a hard time with this...maybe its because they listen to evanier, who keeps telling the world that all the hotel rooms are booked
ya...the ones right next to the convention are...but hotel circle has thousands of rooms, and its a half hour drive away
and no...i havent been to the con since 02...fucking hollywood took that shit over
think ill pull out one of my programs from the 80s and just reminisce about the grand olde geek times

  • July 21, 2010, 2:35 a.m. CST

hey ambush bug...can you make one suggestion to the con

    by brabon300

    organizers?
evanier says it cant be done...says that participants would want extra pay....but as we are now in the 21st century, i cant see why the panels cannot be live streamed...with a fee charged
a virtual comic con for those who dont, wont or cant go...but would like to experience the happenings

  • July 21, 2010, 10:04 a.m. CST

I agree with live streaming of panels

    by teethgnasher

I wish I could go, but I'm self-employed. I don't work, I don't make money. It's that simple. If a miss a day of work because the airlines double booked a flight, ect., I'm screwed.

Whatever happened to the sequel to 2001 Maniacs?

    by cookylamoo

And speaking of Robert Englund we really need a sequel to "Zombie Strippers".
