First animated Goon feature footage has turned up!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Goon has a big panel at Comic-Con, which I'm planning on attending and will have a full report on come Friday evening... in advance of the Con MTV received the first footage from the animated feature and it look awesome.
Franky is voiced by Paul Giamatti and The Goon is Clancy Brown! Great casting and the look of this is tops! Unless something has changed, this feature is being produced by David Fincher. Crazy, right?

MTV is debuting this footage, but it's not a show on MTV. It's a feature film adaptation of The Goon comic, produced by David Fincher. As far as I know it's an independent production (ie no distribution), but we'll see if there have been any new developments.

Not sure if I pointed this out to you, but the island had Jack’s appendix removed 3 years prior to MIB/Locke stabbing him in that spot, which allowed him to live just a little bit longer so he could “lift it up, brotha” and replug the core inside the cave.
If his appendix was there, it would’ve burst and he would’ve been dead in seconds.
That’s Darlton’s genius preplanning 3 years in advance, plot-wise.
That’s why they did a recall to it in the “alt” world, his appendix scar.
And they pointed out in the s3 commentary that his appendix HAD to be removed, for a very specific reason to come much later.
And Jack plugging the hole is a reference back to Desmond telling him in the s2 opener “you gotta lift it up brotha” (which was then a reference to his sprained ankle).

I've followed this comic for many years, and I've followed Clancy Brown's career too. Great actor, PERFECT for the role. I am officially freaking the fuck out. WOW!!!

The Goon is my favourite comic and looks incredibly faithful to the source material and Eric Powell's styling. Glad to see not every adaption gets fucked up. Hooray!

In a good way. I'm very much looking forward to this and you can't go wrong with Brown and Giamatti!(though I always imagined Ron Perlman and Steve Buscemi to be the definitive voices of Goon and Franky while reading the comics.)

While the zombies are indeed prominent in The Goon comics, they aren't really the overplayed Romero-style zombies of recent years. They're really closer to old-school voodoo zombies.

The one with no pupils is Franky, The Goon's buddy. The Goon being the big fella driving the car. Actually, in the comic, Franky has no teeth either. At least, they're never shown anyways.

I think its like an homage to Little Orphan Annie or something. The character is drawn that way in the comic.
