Will Jack Kirby's SATAN'S SIX become a film soon'

Published at:  Oct 25, 1999 2:17:59 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here. It seems that Tracy Kirby and her brother (the spawn of JACK KIRBY!!!!!) have been busy at work trying to get Jack's characters, the ones he still owns, up on the big screen. At the same time that Marvel is trying vainly to do the same... However, it seems a breakthrough has just occurred and they have just struck a deal with DARK HORSE and Mike Richardson & Steven Gilder to usher Jack's property onto the silver screen with Tracy co-producing. Now if we can get a great BOY COMMANDOS flick going... sigh... Ahhhh eternal life to the Kirbyverse!!!

My brother was the artist for SATAN'S SIX!!!

Yes that's right my brother is John Cleary. I remember when he got the callback from Topp's Comics. He had been trying to break into the business for a while, and decided to send some samples to Topp's Comics...they were a new outfit and he thought he'd have a better chance at getting a job there. Little did he know, that they would hire him to draw a Jack Kirby creation... I believe he still has a lot of originals from the series stored away too.
Once he got in with Topp's, the editor introduced my brother to Todd McFarlane...which led to my brother doing a McFarlane creation..BOOF.
"BOOF" was a marketing failure and unfortunately never made it big...John stayed at image for a while doing titles like Deadly Duo and a couple of other issues here and there....
Since then John has pretty much gotten out comics..the market just isn't what it used to be, he says. Now he sculpts for his own company..DarkStorm Studios.
Check it out if you'd like.... http://www.darkstormstudios.com

Oh well, if anyone would like to hear anymore about my brother and the comic life, email me and we'll talk all about it..
