Want to see a spoiler 1-Sheet for the conclusion of HARRY POTTER?

Published at:  Jul 02, 2010 5:03:21 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here and Warner's just released this poster.

It is funny, I asked Yoko if she wanted to see the new Harry Potter poster - as I commented on how sad an image it is. She responded, "I've got a feeling that the world will be better once all the Harry Potter films are over." It is an interesting notion, that as the world for young master Potter has turned dark and dreary. With the various forces of Fiennes overpowering the young wizard... well our own world has conjured a lot of darkness as well. Is God punishing mankind for worshiping this Wizard? I'm sure that's what some may think. Me... I'm relatively sure that they are separate issues. BUT... ya never know. What if Potter films are the only things protecting us from the teetering brink? On 1 A.P. (After Potter) the Mayans predicted the end of all time. Hmmm...

    by dapper swindler

It's like they planned on making each movie darker than the last, but then screwed up the pacing of the darkening halfway and ended up making it way too dark. I haven't read the books so feel free to correct me. But it feels a little silly how serious this movie is taking itself and how it wants you to know how fucking serious it is too.

The books to get progressively darker. The last book easily being the darkest. For example, it starts (really, page one) with a scene of torture and ends in a murder. And in the part of the book that the poster is referring to, so many people (main characters) die, I lost count.

    by performingmonkey

OK I'm gonna see these, they're gonna be the best of Yates's movies without a doubt (how could they not be? Ootp had the potential to be awesome but was fucked, HBP somehow didn't work as well even though the book was fucking made to be adapted...*sigh*). Alfonso Cuaron remains the most important person ever to be involved in this franchise (OK, maybe after JK Rowling...). He came in, did exactly what was needed (Prisoner is still the best movie, and no Yates will NOT beat it, he's just not capable)

    Book 7 was terrible

    by enderandrew

It was all padding. The characters wander aimlessly with no direction for 500 pages. The highlight of book 7 arguably is the attack on the Burrow, which they added to 6, which was insanely stupid. They also really, *really* hosed the ending of 6. I'm not a huge fan of the books by any means, but I was furious leaving the theater for 6. Now they have to stretch basically nothing over two movies, without having the big sequence at the Burrow. The climax of the series is also extremely anti-climactic. That is the rare exception where I really hope they do majorly deviate from the books.

    by scenic

I don't think it's possible to see a reflected castle in the water if the water is roiling - it would be fragmented and distorted if seen at all. I bet the artist had the waters calm with the reflection and someone said to stir them up - keep with the troubled tone. So now it looks quite fake. Cool otherwise tho.

The attack on the burrow is nonexistent in the book. The kids pretty much disappear as soon as it happens. Also, you seem to be forgetting every other awesome sequence from the book. The infiltration of the Ministry of Magic, the different Harry Potters leaving the Dursleys, Malfoy Manor, the dragon, infiltrating Gringotts bank, breaking into Hogsmeade, breaking into Hogwarts, the Room of Requirement, the attack on the castle, Godric's Hollow, Xenophilius Lovegood's house... holy shit there is a LOT to see and do in that last book.

    Professor Monster

    by mr gorilla

Regarding the 'ugly red-headed kid'. A few days ago Martin Scorsese said: 'I thought he (Grint) was a great actor in the Harry Potter movies. In a lot of scenes, the boy stole the show. I would be interested in working with him. I would have no issues in casting him as a gangster, he is a very talented young man. When Leo was in Titanic and Romeo And Juliet, nobody saw him becoming a bad a** in movies like The Departed. But he has become one of the greatest actors of all time. The very same could be true of Rupert.' Professor Monster, that's MARTIN SCORSESE there. Someone who knows what they are talking about. Not some sad troll who has zero discernment of their own, but who thinks it's smart to take cheap shots at young actors. You should sit in a corner and have a long hard fucking think about yourself.

    by mr gorilla

I do really think they should stop spoiling this film now. I think I once read an interview with Roland Emmerich (of all people) saying that no film should put footage of its final act in its trailers, publicity etc. (This was around INDEPENDENCE DAY.) He's right. The trailer seems to have loads from the end of the second movie. I think WB should not release ANY more footage now. And I dearly hope they will treat Part 1 as a separate film, and not do what they did with Matrix Reloaded and Back to the Future 2, which both felt like extended trailers to their sequels. As ever, take a lesson from EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Loose ends, rather than a 'cliffhanger' in the stricter sense of the word - the film felt it had a proper ending.

I would be supprised if Rupert Grint soped acting and decided to go on a different path with his life. The guy sounds so humble, even too humble to be an actor with a drive to go on a long career path. Daniel Radcliff seems to have more "ganas" for a career longevity. And then there's Emma Watson, who just doesn't seem to know what she wants to do with her life.

Also leonardo dicrapio is not a "great actor". Hes a regular actor. I have seen one good movie with him in it: The Departed. The rest were mediocre, if I even bothered to see it.

    Hilarious

    by mr gorilla

People on this talkback - hilarious. They hate Harry Potter, and Rupert Grint SO much that now Scorsese is a so-so director with only a few years left, Gangs of New York 'blew', and DiCaprio only 'average'. Hilarious. Grow up, boys.

if harry was to access to all the main aspects of studio..

    by emeraldboy

ie talk to writers, editors, producers, directors as a series. people would either call him a sell out or think it was cool. because of the anonimity surrounding talkbackers real identities and who they are, jettl1993 is called a liar and to even ask him what films he worked on, would I have no doubt brings of dont listen to him emarldby he is a liar. why cause he is an insider. and as well all know this site hates all aspects of the movie studio system. but that's easy when you dont make films. just watch them. armchair producers and directors the lot of you!

Nice companion piece to the first film's teaser poster

    by spifftacular squirrel girl

My first feeling from seeing that art was feeling a little unnerved. Another site compared it to the first film's teaser poster (A shot of Hogwarts looking all sorts of awe-inspiring as the students are brought to it by boats) and the new movie(s) teaser art and it's kind of goosebumpy in a way.

Also, as far as the damage to the school itself, I've got a feeling that it looks a lot worse in the teaser just so there's more of a sense of dread than what is described in the book.

Obviously, J.K was paid by the word

    by pilgrim64

for the Deathly Hallows. Padding the book with the camping was tedious to read. On a side note, I appreciate that adaptation needs to remove elements for time consideration, but I'm still annoyed that Ron didn't ask for Viktor Krum's autograph. It would have taken all of 5 seconds of screen time

    Mayan Calendar and Y2K

    by hst666

Y2K first. Was not a myth. Ask anyone with credibility in the field of computers. No one was doing anything about the problem in 1994/5. The scare-mongers got people working on it. Even most of the scare-mongers did not think the worst-case scenarios would happen, but they could have.
The Mayan calendar is cyclical as people have been saying and resets to zero in December 2012. That is the entire basis for the apocalypse theories. No one claims the Mayans predicted anything.

I thought deathly Hallows was great.

    by hst666

While the first half could have used a little trimming, a lot of it was important and integral to the story.

    spot-on poster

    by belledame

the image and text say it all. the school done in by battle yet the sun rising in the east.

the school was this badly damaged in the book. these are full-grown wizards in the winner-takes-all battle of the series. somehow there's gonna be less damage than bridge collapses and whatnot?

i don't know what trailer iceman saw, but the one i've seen showed a ton of spoilers. he may not have a context for those events, but take it scene by scene, man. you see HRH fearful, desperate, fighting and on the run in various seasons and locations. and look at what you know from the movies alone. how could it now come down to a battle at hogwarts? that school is the only home both harry and voldemort have ever known. they both love the hell out of it. if that final wand-off in the trailer doesn't sum it up for you, this poster sure can't spoil it.

they were supposed to be. It was supposed to make you feel what the trio was feeling. They were going in circles and accomplishing nothing and believe me I felt every bit of it :)
