* “Futurama” enjoyed an impressive return, tying “Burn Notice” and “Royal Pains” as Thursday’s top cable series in 18-49. A 1.6 is better than any episode of “South Park” that ran last fall, but not as good as any episode of “South Park” that ran early this year. It did much better than “The Sarah Silverman Program,” “Important Things,” “Secret Girlfriend,” the post-pilot “Jeff Dunham Show,” “Ugly Americans” and most of the channel’s other primetime fare.

* “Wipeout” is ABC’s new “Millioniare,” doing monster business on Tuesdays AND Thursdays.

* “Wipeout” certainly helped get ABC’s “Rookie Blue” get a decent number. Documentary doctor series “Boston Med,” right after, did less well.

* NBC’s terrible laughtrack sitcom “100 Questions” is deservedly doing worse than all of NBC’s sitcom repeats. Incredibly, I think NBC just signed its creator to another development deal.

100 Questions - The british girl / lead

    by v'shael

was much funnier on Peep Show, when she was in that.I am not sure, but I think the "creator" is the little weedy pervert in the show. He also played Jeff in NBC's abortion remake of Steven Moffat's "Coupling".If Herc is right, and they have signed this talentless little shit into another deal, the ink on his Satanic contract must still be wet.

the worst, most god-awful thing to air on network tv in 20 years, I still can't believe it's a real show. I saw pilots of crappy sitcoms that never got picked up that were better than this. Gotta wonder what NBC turned down.

I was never a fan of The Sarah Silverman Program or Important Things. I'm very happy to see Futurama return with such good numbers. I hope it can keep it up.

The British girl lead in 100 questions

    by throwmetheidol

Looks like she's had some plastic surgery since the Peep Show. I watched and episode of Peep show with her in it yesterday and her face was different than on 100 questions. Maybe a nose job.

5 seconds into 100 Questions I almost turned it off

    by big jim

Man and woman walk into a room. Man tells woman to sit anywhere so she goes to sit on the couch when he quickly says "except the couch". And the "audience" bursts out laughing. I saw the "joke" coming by the way the actor delivered the previous line, but didn't really expect so lame a "joke". However, it was the roar from the laugh track that really bothered me. It wasn't funny, let alone THAT funny. As Darth Rosenberg said, the laughtrack is incessant. Every single time anyone says anything, there is laughter. Obviously I did continue to watch, partly out of a morbid curiosity to see how bad it could get, and partly out of a hope that it might get better. The pilot was terrible. There was a scene where the lead was talking to her friends. Watching it I wondered exactly WHO she was talking to. She's supposed to be in the middle of a conversation with her friends yet she delivers her lines while facing the camera - one friend was slightly behind her to her left, two others were several feet right behind her, and the fourth was in another room. A very poorly directed scene.Somehow though, I've kept watching. The show does deliver a genuine laugh or two now and again (although, laughing at something the "audience" also finds funny does make me feel a bit dumb, despite the fact that I know they laugh at everything). Had this premiered in the Fall I probably would have turned it off after 5 seconds but it's an off-season show with little competition. I never expected it to last beyond its initial order of episodes and am not surprised in the least it wasn't renewed.

    by lordporkington

Please, please, please stop watching this crap. It's people like you that they cater to. People pay to see Transformers movies, so they keep making them. People keep tuning into bilge like 100 Questions, so they keep making it. If you are indeed 'big', then use your summer to go outside and get some fresh air. Ride a bike, play some sports or even take a little nap, but *please*, for the love of all that is holy, STOP watching 100 Questions! End of rant.

    by lordporkington

Maybe he *should* go out more often? I must admit, I've never seen the show in question. Who knows, I might even enjoy it myself, but I really can't be arsed to waste half an hour of my life a week on a show that sounds pretty awful. I'm sure 'Big Jim' is a nice enough bloke and all that, I was just trying to offer him some helpful advice, no offence intended.

LordPorkington, no offense taken, thanks for the concern

    by big jim

I probably could go out a bit more, and could be a bit more fit. However, my moniker is a play on my name but also a callback to the Mattel toy of the '70s (and not the exNFL player turned porn star as some have assumed). And you know, I do enjoy the occasional nap.I probably could stand to be more discerning with my television viewing habits, but I do sometimes find myself oddly attracted to some bad shows like 100 Questions. I try to look past all the horrible parts to see if there is something good struggling to get out. Each episode has given me a laugh or two which is enough for me. I won't miss it when it's gone, and a year from now if someone were to bring it up I might even have trouble recalling it. But for something to watch once a week while eating breakfast, or maybe last thing before going to bed, I get a couple of laughs from a stupid and innocuous comedy (well, except for the laugh track - that's kind of offensive).

ThrowMeTheIdol is correct - my viewing habits have no effect on the ratings. I'm not a Nielsen viewer AND I live in Canada. That's a double-whammy of NBC not giving a crap what I watch. I'm like an invisible leper to the US networks - they don't see me, nor do they want to see me.

Is the only spot for Futurama talkbacking?

    by sparhawk38

I thought the 3rd ep was the tits. The first 2 eps were significantly better than the movies, but slightly less than the original series at its best. I think this weeks episode hit the sweet spot. They went all that way for a Susan Boyle joke and i appreciate the freakish effort. Mom is great, as well. If possible, she is even more assish on Comedy Central. RIP "Puke Me Poop You".

    by jt kirk

too expensive for their cut-rate network to produce when South Park still schools its ratings and costs 3 dimes and a button per episode to write, produce, and voice act. It'll break my heart to lose Futurama a 3rd time, but this time I'll see it coming.

100 Questions is bad - like CBS sitcoms

    by joesixpack

It's a terrible show, don't get me wrong, but I can't say it's any worse than How I Met Your Mother or Two and a Half Men. If it was moved to CBS in the fall, it would probably do OK, especially if they changed the lead to an actor that was famous in the 80s (no offense to NPH or Charlie Sheen, both of whom are great despite being on horrible shows).
