Hell ive seen more talent on Youtube than 95% of the shit ive seen in the theatres.
-
His "The Clown" is a tiny masterpiece. http://tinyurl.com/2dfhg85
-
It started with a call from Harry on steroids, and some news that blew my mind for which I'm sworn to secrecy, and it ends with this insanely awesome video. In between I visited a pirates display at a local museum, attended my first Renaissance Fair (think "Role Models")where I was serenaded by a girl of Elvira sized boobs and then attended one of those "Hell House" types of things called "The 99" which is a live theater "Faces of Death" that drags you to Hell before trying to save you with Jesus. This must go down on record as one the strangest days I've had in recent memory. I need some of Harry's steroids to get me through another day like this, although I might believe this whole day was some type of weird hallucination from some bad honey toast I had for breakfast.
-
Unbelievably cool.
-
Two AT-ATs fuck and then have little baby AT-STs. It would be super cute!!!
-
The Clown was epic. Thanks for that.
-
...that was better than Episode 1?
-
a gay registered sex offender is better than Episode 1
-
And their love of Star Wars. Great little one minute trifle that feels more satisfying that the three prequels combined.
-
AWESOME video. Thanks for sharing (and pointing out all these famous friends you have. Egomaniac)
-
Little At-At's make Jabba poodoos apparently...
-
I miss this series. These guys did everything themselves - props, fx, costumes, scripts, directing, acting. A cross between Monthy Pythons and ILM.

They should've worked this into Toy Story 3 somehow...
by ronald raygun
Not really

When it has to be humanely euthanized, they'll use a harpoon and tow cable.
-
Then you should be given $50 million to make your own movie.
-
I heard they neuter them by inserting a plasma grenade in their tummies...
-
Jesus Christ on a cracker, that was awesome. I've got a buddy who's got one of those Sony AIBO robot dogs, and it's pretty fricking amazing, but it can't run like that AT-AT did. Shit. That was amazing. Thanks for sharing, Harry, and hope you feel better soon, dude.
-
Pros:
1 Very loyal and loving.
2 Work hard to help their masters wipe out rebel scum.
3 Very playful.
Cons:
1 Need lots of room to play.
2 Need lots of attention and are difficult to program.
3 Breed also suffers from hip dysplasia. -
i was glad i took the bait and watched that one. very fun.
-
From the looks of it, it was probably a combination, depending on the shot, of puppetry with wire removal and a bit of stop motion here and there. But man, you are right, when it's running ...the "how the FUUUU" part of my brain starts lighting up like the fourth of July. Beautiful work, huh?
-
Like they rigged it up as a marionette puppet and composited into the shots... Then again I could be totally wrong though. Eh, who cares how they did it because this is really neat as hell!
-
is the moment he tastes the bit of flesh in his teeth and discovers he likes the taste. The look on his face... where did he find that actor??? Brilliant. Must be a real clown.
-
I still can't help figuring out how he made the AT-AT run so naturally. My guess is that he filmed a dog running, used the film as a template, and then rotoscoped the movement by overlaying a CG model of an AT-AT...oh hell I don't know. But that's the best guess I can make. I've seen CGI in big-budget movies that didn't look nearly as convincing as that AT-AT. Damn, it still blows me away.
-
I'm going to be puzzling over it for days. Damn.
-
What was that announcement you mentioned a few days ago
-
Or something. I don't know exactly, but he's pretty talented and I'm guessing a pro if he has Dominique Pinon starring in one of them. Check out his other videos, they're awesome too. In just a few minutes I witnessed a Transformer General Lee Vs a G1 Jazz and 80's Michael Jackson in an Aliens Power Loader battling Mr. Bean in a Genesis Climber Mospeada Cyclone style scooter armor and more. http://tinyurl.com/4las6w
-
it's probabaly one best done and cutest trailer spoofs ever done on the internet
-
but I think Sony should reboot it.
-
I guess his most famous role to US audiences in the wheelchair bound guy in Alien Resurrection. I'd remember his character's name if I wasn't trying to forget that flick. I guess he's in a lot of Juenet's movies.

THis Guy does Music Videos over in Europe. A Talent for sure.

If it is CG at all, the shadow/lighting work is gorgeous.
-
So impressive, but I'm convinced it's really good puppetry with wires, removed later. You can almost see a bit of possible distortion above him against the chain link fence if you watch a few times. I'm also watching his other stuff and he does do a lot of mixed work. Puppetry mixed with stop motion. And GREAT stop motion. Look for the Michael Jackson vs Mr Bean thing and the transformers as well as Boba Fett dancing to a "montage" song. Brilliant!!
-
Gotta love YT's whacky policies ...
-
And yes, they are playing "Doctor?", Orbital's classic remix of the Doctor who theme

I neither live in a police state nor under some dictatorship. What the flying FUCK?!? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO FREE INTERNET?!?
-
Cute. Better than the prequels and better than Marmaduke.
-
What's up with YouTube?
-
but i smiled when he shat a Jabba.
-
Ag, at least you have 1966.
LOL! -
Way better than that last animated Star Wars movie.
-
puppeted by strings for some scenes, but then that scene where the at-at and the dog are running at full clip in the park. I can't detect a roto in that scene. Wow
-
mostly stop motion. After seeing a few tubes from him I can tell he is a master rotoscoper as well. So that explains the dog at-at chase scene. This guy needs to hook up with Henry Selick or Team Robot Chicken. Very gifted.
-
Hehe, love it. I made an AT-AT as doggie joke in Harry's Undead tb just a day or two ago!
Yes - I have a pair of these Kenner AT-AT's in the dojo attic!
Yes - the FX in this little short are brilliant! More believeable and real world than the majority of shots in the Prequel Trilogy! Take that Lucas!
Only way this would have been better is if the AT-AT had shit out a tiny George Lucas onto the sidewalk. -
I think the clown was played by Dominique Pinon, verteran of Jean-Pierre Jeunet movies. I agree, he is consistently excellent.
-
But this 1950's music video throwback is better,
http://youtu.be/9ZBpi1qf5P8 -
I'm 25 years old. Everything i base my football knowledge on is the last 15-18 years.
-
Two statements that can never comfortably co-exist - 'consistently excellent' and 'was in ALIEN RESURRECTION'.
-
you'll see how he does the stop motion so well (it's got alot to do with the lighting and real motion blur he adds in post), but how he was able to bled the AT-AT stop motion so well with live action has be puzzled, i mean the way it runs with that other dog is breathtaking

THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY HE COULD'VE DONE THOSE EFFECTS SO WELL

Movie magic.
-
...just like a real dog. Now that's talent.
-
this is cool.
-
I think the first thing I saw from him was that stop-motion animated Iron Man vs Bruce Lee fight a few years ago.
-
No joke. He has to share his secrets. CGI is rampant. Makes me a proud Canadian to see such talent. I suggest you all watch all of his short films (most especially The Clown and Radio)
-
Finally someone figured out his secret. Mystery solved.
-
Regarding how it was done, I am sure that he compositied the AT-AT in over footage that he shot so that it would look like it is running.
Great work overall though. -
Where's the talkback for this awesome news?
-
Can't see the embedded YouTube video on my iPad or iPhone. Otherwise, amazing!
-
..."How they do that?" again.
I say mostly rod puppet with stop-motion here and there and a bit of CG for the fast running action. -
rod puppet using a wheel mechanism to drive the legs
-
I'm impressed! Better than some feature film animation.
-
He used his daughter (again) to play a baby who creates an Iron Man style costume (complete with safety pins to hold up the pants). Brilliant!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyoA4LXQco4 -
Otherwise, pretty damn awesome.
-
The effect's were amazing and i loved how iron baby's version of terrorists are simply angry bunnies with machine guns
-
Something sorta cool! Near death experience bring some light back in you Harry?
if not, please use the shotgun next time. -
to a lump of cheddar cheese.
-
Because poop = funny! He-he!
-
And seeing how many people liked the poop part makes me a little sad, really. Still think it's mostly teh awesome, though.
-
This is what dogs do on a stroll. I don't think his short movie has the pretense of being an essay on the rise and fall of democracy or anything like that.
-
This is what dogs do on a stroll. I don't think his film had the pretense of being an essay on the rise and fall of a democracy or anything like that.
-
But got to admit, I was waiting for the new 2 and a half foot high AT-AT to come in and kick the fuck out of the poor old guy.
-
awesome!
-
sucked soooo bad ...
-
I don't think it's that, either. But the fact that so many American's find pee and poop jokes funny is disappointing to me. It actually says a lot more about our society than one would think. There is intelligent comedy out there. But pee and poop ain't it.
-
confused by a Youtube video.
-
You kind of answered the question yourself. Dogs do a ton of things other than piss and shit. With a little more work they could have done something more imaginative and cut the scatological stuff. Don't get me wrong, though, Empire is my favorite SW movie, so I dig it. I'm just kind of over the lowest common denominator stuff right now. Have been for a while, actually.

For anyone interested, he's posted a making of video
by redbull_werewolf
just go to his channel and see his new video where he shows how he made the AT-AT move like that
