Those are some HUGE photos. haha. Very cool though.
-
looks great
-
there
-
I've got a massive monitor and those pictures raped it. Awesome, though.
-
I can't wait for the Zombie Apocalypse!
-
can someone thumbnail theez?
-
Right where they happen upon the prison. I love it so far. I know there is so much more to read but these are pricey. Do the continued adventures of our ever changing group hold up?
-
Me, I prefer runners. I know purists will disagree.
-
But missing the sideburns. Gotta love the sideburns.
-
Lincoln looks the part.
-
The prison is just the start man. The shit really hits the fan after that. The later comics are worth every penny.
-
Keep them coming if possible.
-
Looks like I'm spending some dough. At least I won't have to worry about spoilers anymore!
-
I strongly agree with TomHooligan. The series just keeps rolling and taking you places that you cannot believe. The changes that the characters undergo are heartbreaking but also make for incredible drama. It's Lord of the Flies meets George Romero and it never lets up. I'd suggest purchasing the massive collections via Amazon. An amazing deal for the amount of story you get -- in a great format. A little unwieldy for reading on the bus, but mighty handsome volumes.
-
That's Gary Whitta (the writer of Book of Eli) in the robe on the right side in the middle of the pic with his arms out.
-
I love it.
-
Darabont nails my FAVORITE comic book. Never had a doubt.
-
Done! Not missing this.
-
But the fx look amazing
-
fast zombies are less tasty though
-
Nice pics. My inner gorehound is howling.

Why can't there be pics from a porn set from someone's window?
by MrMysteryGuest
-
Shambling? A fast bumble?
-
that im not somehow working on the set
-
While I perfer running zombies (because lets be serious, if there ever was a zombie apocalypse, an undead creature sprinting towards you would be 10000x more unnerving then a shambling one. Why? Because you have no time to think, just react. And when you can't think, your chances of survival drop because you lose the only edge you had on the zombies). Anyways, if you look closely, you can see that alot of their postures aren't really running postures...that dude in the front right is arched backwards, kind of a "my spine sucks". The dude in the red (or bloody)jacket/shirt has a straight leg extended, which suggests just a really long stride and not an actual run. The only guy who has a posture that looks like a quasi-jog is the 2nd from the right, slightly offset from the front row. But given the context of everyone else, it's probably just an illusion created by the still photograph. Ditto for the woman who's long hair is up in the air, although given it's appearance of motion in the photo, I have a feeling it's just due to her jerking her head suddenly or doing a drop-type lurch forward like the red shirt/jacket guy next to her.
-
has one hell of a view... multiple streets, street level & upstairs... even out in the country.
amazing.
-
missed the text breaks between the pics ;P
-
this series is darker than a black hole when the shit hits the fan. It's a must-read. You will gasp at full-page panels. Supposedly the show will differ enough from the comics to keep fans surprised. So excited for this!
-
I'll take your word for it. I can't wait to see this show.
-
Seriously, the guy in the checkered polo shirt looks like Tom Waits. Sorta figures, he already sounds like a zombie.

My bedroom window only has a view of azalea bushes...
by JayLenoTookMyJob
...grass, and weeds. Fuckin' suburbs...
-
size of the pics in these stories yet they always look tiny on my monitor and they are never "embiggenable" when I click on them. Is that a first hour only feature now or something? Or do all of you use netbooks at 640x480 and they just seem giant to you?
-
These pics are great.
-
Damn them Zombies be lookin' all zombie like!!! Can't wait to see this!!! I love zombies but the only "really" good zombie movie which included...good acting, real suspense, good fx, non-cheesy B-movie nonsense was the Dawn of the Dead remake. Romero's movies for their time were great but they haven't aged well and the acting is fucking pathetic....how anyone enjoyed Day of the Dead is beyond me...it was laughable. Zombieland and Shawn of the Dead were cool but they were fucking comedies and there was no sense of dread...but the actors could act. Here's hoping this show will capture a realistic rendition(I know "realistic" is a strange word to use when talking about zombies) of a mother fucking zombie apocalypse. What I'm excited about is that this is A&E and they will give us some characters to care about and actors that can act. Fuck cheesy zombie movies bring it on Walking Dead.
-
when you read a whole thread and there´s not one single fanboy bitching about something here. First, we get a GoT teaser, then these awesome Walking Dead pics. This week just keeps geting better :)
-
The heat was fucking oppressive here in Atlanta this weekend... the humidity just made it worse. I bet that was not a fun time. I'm still hoping to get picked up as a zombie extra, though! If I die during filming, I'll be prepared!
-
... I hate it when animals bite it in these types of movies... I cried like a bitch when the (SPOILER) dog died in "I Am Legend".
-
In the comic before the zombies tear it apart.
-
That dude should be hiding inside the damn tank. Granted you would be fucked once it ran out of fuel, but at least you could off yourself on your own terms and not be devoured alive by zombies.
-
Bring...this...ON.
-
Well fucking done Andrew Lincoln.

Uhhh...it looks like the zombies are running.

Goddamnit. Whatever, looks fantastic all the same.
-
Does anyone know if they're still making a World War Z movie?

Pictures of zombies is always cool, but this isn't something
by Degaussed
I haven't seen before. I've seen a thousands of photos of zombies. How's the writing of this series, has any seen the pilot?? Nothing to see here, move on
-
I wonder if he makes them himself?
-
Let's hope.
-
Walking Dead...boring? you reading the right comic? granted there are the sitting down and talking bits(which grew on me) I find it hard to recall any moment where I was bored by this fantastic comic. BTW great pics I just came multiple times
-
Love the comic, Frank is amazing and AMC has a great record with quality shows right now. Fingers crossed that this will be bad ass.
-
I can't wait!

Those are PS3 owners leaving the Sony presentation at E3.

MAD CAUSE I DONT HAVE AMC... STUPID BASIC DISH NETWORK
by Canidate_Micheal
-
i like him in teachers, but he's really not right for this in the slightest. I can hear his plummy, over-expressed 'american' accent already.
-
Those Zombies look pretty scary. This is gonna be sooo good.
-
...Feeling good, Todd. This looks like pure, unadulaterated, unalloyed fucking wonderfulness.
-
I don't think I've anticipated a tv series like this in a while. WD is what got me back into going to my comic shop each month. I was late to the part and purchased all of the graphic novels to catch up. Now I'm getting it monthly. Definitely something to get into if you haven't already. Probably one of the most brutal post apocalyptic series you'll find anywhere.
-
Even when there are no pigs around, it's still, well, it'll do.
-
From the first official picture to this spy pics, they all have been quite small. You can't even see Rick's face in the last one! Anyway, it's looking great so far. I have big hopes for this one.
-
So well that whoever is tasked with making the World War Z movie gets an angry phone call from his boss asking WTF are you waiting for, asshole? Make the movie already and stop wanking off.
-
Also, it's already been stated that this story will deviate from the Comic..so it really doesn't matter if a cop was in the tank..
-
I do hope they actually show this in black and white like the comic is done. I think color will detract from the appeal of it.
-
Of course it'll be in color! Here's something that might blow your mind. The comic is great in black & white, and it'd be great+1 if it, too, was in color. It's greatness has nothing to do with it's lack of color. It's great despite that, like Night of the Living Dead. Nobody says that Dawn of the Dead sucked because Romero filmed it in color. He only used B&W initially because it was cheap.
-
Not as much of an immediate threat as the Lightly-Jogging Dead.
-
I haven't seen or heard one thing from this that I don't like.
-
from your bedroom window. TV shoot or not, fuck THAT noise. Between this and GL shooting in New Orleans, it's a great time to be a Southern nerd.
-
I've been reading the comic since issue one. A friend of mine lends me the single issues, and as the hardcovers are released I pick them up so I can re-read or lend to others. I buy the hardcovers from www.instocktrades.com as they're very cheap and if you buy in bulk, shipping is free for orders of fifty bucks or more.
-
I priced these online a bit yesterday and was just checking back to read the talkbacks, so thanks. I'll check that out and get up to speed.
-
...then what the hell are you waiting for?!
At the risk of sounding repetitive (sounding repetitive), I saw Dead Set this week for the first time and I was completely blown away by the awesome.
Don't waste another moment of your life not watching Dead Set. Get your hands on it any way you can!
I'm serious about this, folks...
-
Haha no kidding. Be pretty easy for your heart to skip a few beats if you were unprepared for that.
-
Darabont ruined "The Mist." I hated the ending. Hated it. The climax made no sense. I hope he doesn't ruin this as well.
-
The Mist was a spot on, thrilling, old school monster movie. Just like the source material that inspired the short story. I'm a monstrous King fan (see name) and loved it. I agree with King who has said Darabont came up with a better ending than the actual short story. It was cruel and nasty and heart wrenching. You get that "save a bullet" threat a lot in films and then there's no pay off the day is saved etc. I love that he did what he thought was right and they were just minutes from salvation. It rammed home the idea that in those situation a regular guy doing his best isn't always good enough. He wasnt fucking John McClane.
-
The ending for the Mist was the most fantastic, Twighlight Zone-esque ending you could wish for, and totally in keeping with the style of the book. Amazing ending.
-
There was some acting and/or dialogue that made me cringe a bit, but for the most part it was a pretty entertaining old school monster movie with a great Serling-esque ending.
And if you haven't already, check out the b&w version of the film, very creepy and atmospheric.
-
Mist B&W takes it to a whole other level and makes me hope they do B&W conversions of The Walking Dead Eps on Blu Ray. It's also be a cool thing to run mini marathons on say Fear Friday's converted to B&W, since they aren't going to broadcast them that way initially.
-
I love b&w horror on a late Friday night, especially around Halloween. Hopefully they will do that with The Walking Dead, then maybe follow suit and do the same for Mad Men.
-
Just turn down the "color" setting on your tv/computer to zero. Dumbasses.
-
Turning the color down is not the same thing as color correcting a color film to a b&w film - there's contrast issues to deal with, among other factors. It also doesn't look as good as shooting on b&w stock (well, usually).
-
Watch the theatrical version of The Mist with the color turned down, then watch the b&w version. Huge difference. But thanks anyway for the useless advice. Dumbass. Lol.
-
I even wrote the casting company but never heard back from them (sad face).
-
Everybody's got a Mac these days, right?
-
Whatever you do don't learn how to download torrents... it's illegal and you could be sued.
-
But from what I understand, they actually put a lot of effort into making the colors look right, not just turning the color knob down to zero.
-
The advertising of that book saying "it's like dawn of the dead never ended" is exactly right....but it's like that long boring middle part of Dawn of the Dead where they're just milling around the Mall for 3 hours never ended
-
I'm just saying.
-

The comic book has some of the worst dialogue
by Guy Who Got A Headache And Accidentally Saves The World
If the show doesn't have that problem I'd watch it.
-
Get rid of walking and running ones. Wouldn't it just be freaky to see a flesh eating zombie skipping towards you looking at you as their next meal.
-
if zombies eat people who then turn into zombies how come they're nearly always completely whole?!! zombies cannot work because by definition we would all be eaten to a point that we cant function on any level, even if we did come back. Its fucking stupid. No movie apart from the great 'return of the living dead'(brains!) ever addressed this major fucking hole!

This comic book series ROCKS my cojones!!! I CANNOT wait for the TV show and by these pics this show is going to blow chunks! Just picked up volume 5 of Walking Dead and am voraciously devouring every page. Cant wait to attend the Walking Dead panel at Comic Con next month, hopefully they'll show teasers for the TV show.
-
Book 5 Hardcover is out now, but I am kind of strapped for cash since being laid off from my last job. It is on my wish list and will probably be the first "goodie" I buy once I find a new job! I love the comics, and am happy to see it looks like AMC is taking this series seriously and not just mailing it in and doing a paint by numbers zombie show.
-
Here's hoping! BRAAAAAAAAAINS!!!

@1st and only : Dude, it's like you never saw a Zombie movie.
by V'Shael
The victims who are ripped apart and consumed, do not come back as zombies. (Usually).

It's the lone idiot in the pack of survivors who gets bitten, then decides to hide it from everyone, who turns.

It's the kid who got bit, but who's parent cannot bear to put a bullet in her brain, that turns.

There's plenty of reasons why there's plenty of intact zombies.
-
You know, there are two abandoned prisons in the Atlanta area where they could film the prison sequence. I'm kinda digging the photos, I recognize the locations! Fired up for this!
-
I have actually gotten to the point where I'm scared to watch The Mist anymore, in color OR b&w, for fear of burning myself out on it. I must watch it sparingly. And at least for that one I prefer the b&w, but am very open to the idea of Walking Dead in color.
-
