Friday I mentioned in passing that Brannon Braga (“Enterprise,” “Threshold”) was making his solo showrunning debut on Fox’s new midseason time-travel/dinosaur drama “Terra Nova.” But we’ve now word from a studio source that I got that part wrong. David Fury (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Lost”) – whom we’ve known for several weeks was involved with the series – is showrunning the series with Braga. AICN contacted Fury and he confirms “Terra Nova” will be his first showrunning job. Fury and Braga worked together on “24,” which ended its eight-season run last week. Our source clarifies also that the original pilot script by Kelly Marcel and “Standoff” creator Craig Silverstein has been rewritten by Fury and Braga, and the series as a whole has been “reconceived” by the two “24” vets. “Nova” is about refugees from an ecologically ravaged future Earth who flee via wormhole back in time to the planet’s post-Jurassic Cretaceous era.
