The LOGAN'S RUN Remake Entices Yet Another Director...

Beaks here...

With Warner Bros.' development of a new LOGAN'S RUN now entering its third decade, I'm not going to get too excited about Heat Vision's report that Carl Erik Rinsch is currently "in talks" to direct. Ever since Bryan Singer toyed with the film back in 2004, it's been the project for directors to get attached to before they go on to make something else (Joseph Kosinski, James McTeigue and Robert Schwenke are just three who've come and gone over the last few years). But who knows? Maybe Rinsch - who was going to direct the ALIEN prequel before Sir Ridley claimed it for himself - is the guy who will finally get the Joel Silver-Akiva Goldsman production a greenlight. He's certainly a hot helmer at the moment, what with everyone being in love with his short film "The Gift". He's going to direct something. Why not this? According to Heat Vision, the studio is planning to bring a new writer on board once they get Rinsch officially attached, so there's still plenty of time for the young director to bolt to another project.
