Fresh Meat For SCREAM 4! Panettiere! Bell! Greene! Culkin!

Beaks here...

We've been hearing for a while now that Wes Craven's SCREAM 4 will feature the survivors of the previous three films - Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox - passing the torch to a younger group of perpetually imperiled characters. Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we now know who might be joining the cast, and how their characters will be tied to Sidney and the gang. TWILIGHT's Ashley Greene has been offered the role of Jill, Sidney's cousin and the apparent protagonist of the fourth film. She'll be joined by Hayden Panettiere, who will play Jill's "nerdy film geek" best friend. As for Jill's love interest, that part looks like it will go to Rory Culkin, who's grown up a bunch since YOU CAN COUNT ON ME. Rounding out the new cast will be Lake Bell as a police officer and former high school classmate of Sidney's. Little is known about Kevin Williamson's screenplay because Dimension is not sending it out to agencies (in order to keep script reviews off of sites such as this). This is evidently causing some of the new actors to have doubts about coming on board. Should Dimension be able to find their cast in a timely manner, the plan is to start shooting SCREAM 4 this July.
