Before battling apes, James Franco will take on RICKY STANICKY!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. James Franco makes me laugh. I love the dude's timing and while a lot of the world turned on PINEAPPLE EXPRESS I stick by it. That shit is so over the top crazy-violent and fun. Right up my alley. So, hot on the heels of the Apes reboot thing (not a bad choice), comes news of Franco top-lining a comedy called Ricky Stanicky. The folks at Heat Vision have some info on the project, said to be an R-rated ensemble comedy from Jeff Bushell, the writer of Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Ricky Stanicky is a made-up hooligan, a kind of prankster boogeyman made up by a bunch of kids who accidentally set someone's house on fire. When questioned about it, they make up Ricky Stanicky and get away with it! As adults they find ways to blame every fault on this imaginary man until they're forced to introduce Ricky to their wives. They hire an actor to play Ricky (Franco) and I'm sure things only go downhill from there. Sounds like a concept full of potential to me. which was done in the 60s.it even had a remake or two since then.The title of the movie was: My friend Leyterakis <p>A guy is cheating his wife and in order to avoid her suspicions,he has created a fake friend with the name Leyterakis whom he use as an alibi for his night exoduses or weekend vacations without the presence of his wife.He even had his imaginary friend to occasionally "send" presents to his wife and himself,so that she could really believe that her husband has indeed a rich friend living in Europe. <p>the difference from the american movie,is that his wife eventually finds out his dirty secret and she decides to take her revenge against him.How? well she hires an actor and educates him with all the things her husband used to describe his friend all these years he was cheating on her. <p>so one day the actor arrives at their home and introduces himself as her husband's best friend Leyterakis.Ofc her husband is shocked from this unexpected visit and tries to understand what the hell is happening.Meanwhile his "pal" Leyterakis is making a move on his wife (following the plan of the wife),while the husband is starting to lose his logics and to believe that his fake friend maybe was not fake afterall all these years... <p>now maybe that old greek comedy might have been based on some similar Hollywood film of that era,they used to do that,but the plot of this new american film is not that original..

Stop trying to be fancy. The plot synopsis I read somewhere else made it seem much funnier. A group of guys use this fake guy as an excuse to their wives to get out of obligations. When the guys throw a big party the wives demand they finally get to meet this Ricky. The guys then hire an actor (Franco) to play Ricky.
