Why is it the girl always hates having superpowers?

    by drewlicious

I don't want powers I want to be normal!!! What kind of crap is that? Thats why I never completely bought Heroes because the cheerleader had not only one of the best superpowers in the show but the most subtle. So unless the superpower sucks I just don't understand anything other than being super-excited.

I'll keep an open mind though... If everything we see is from the pilot, it could be good. If it's going to be some long, drawn out thing where revelations take seasons to come then I'll definitely pass. In any event, there's no story evident yet, and that worries me. What do these people do with their powers?

That's what killed heroes. By the time the 'powers' went public, the show was shitcanned. I'm not saying the family needs to be in capes and masks, but the show can't just be people with powers hiding in the suburbs trying to live a normal life.

I HAVE A LAIR! - that line gives me the most hope. The mope around because of superpowers shit has to go. Yeah it works in comic books, when it comes to huge, hairy-rocky monsters, or if it makes you a minority your government wants to exterminate. Otherwise, it's ridiculous. Teenagers would murder for the ability to read minds not cry about it. The daughter abusing the hell out of it would be a lot better and realistic development than "I just want to be normal, bwaaah!" Also: the Cape trailer looks kinda good too. I was sure both series will suck ass, but i don't know, they seem fun.

Makes me suspect that there's some Nazi "boys from Brazil" connection where bad guys are creating supermen and out family got dunked in it by accident. This would be good because they could be constantly hunted by super-neo nazis.

Chiklis was not used well as Ben Grimm. You could go on and on about how bad the FF effort was, but it wasn't his fault. As an actor he has an incredible amount of depth. The writers need to keep the pace up with his talent.

Not a lot of actors have earned more good will that Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz. I hate the cliched representation of the teenage girl though. You know, some teenagers are pretty cool. They're not all brats. Why not be different and write one who has a little character?

4 people with super powers. How long until others arrive? Won't be weekly sitcom with just them and their powers and how to hide them. They will have to use it for a greater good, then there will be a MIG (Man in Grey) who tells them about some secret stuff and a great revelation we're supposed to see in the season finale... Been there, done that, comedic or dramatic - it all went down the chimney... My prediction? 1 season only - if it lives to the end of that! Julie Benz the hottest woman on this unverse's earth, goddammit!!! Maybe in the ALT-Universe we have 17 children? Who knows?
