Behind the Scenes of the live action, ROCKY & BULLWINKLE

Published at:  Oct 13, 1999 1:12:58 PM CDT

Hey there folks, Harry here. Sorry about that weird dead page this morning, but that's what I get for trying to upload a horse. This time I'll try this steel carriage from the ROCKY & BULLWINKLE movie. Now... I don't know about you, but I have an extremely morbid, car-wreck neck turn feeling towards this project. It's just so damn bizarre that anyone would want to turn this into a live action feature length film... that has Robert Deniro in it. Well... We'll see.

About two weeks ago my wife and I stumbled across a film crew in
downtown Chicago doing some filming. Turns out it was for the upcoming
Rocky & Bullwinkle movie. The scene involved a blue smashed up Lebaron
almost running down some pedestrians crossing the street. The car was
driven by a man dressed in all white including a white mask so that he
could be removed later digitally and Bullwinkle inserted. I spoke with
a crew member and was told that Bullwinkle is a lousy driver and is
constantly crashing the car. He actually prefers to drive on the
sidewalk. In addition to the car, they had life size Rocky and
Bullwinkle manequins. They weren't used in the shot and I assume are
used only for getting an idea how a shot will look. The manequins
looked exactly like the cartoon characters, which is what the digitally
created Rocky & Bullwinkle are suppose to look like. I will email some
pictures of the scene.

I too am axiously waiting to see this picture. I am a big R&B fan and also a big fan of Jay Ward. One good thing this has is Disney isn't making it.

??People!!?? Don't you realize or have you forgotten, that this is a movie based on a very subtley "adult orientated" cartoon? No matter how bad it may seem, I, for one am still going to see this flick...for it holds the works of a master: Jonathan Winters-one of the gods from whom stand-up comedy sprang. Besides that, just gonna be there to smell the cheeze.

For those interested in the R&B sets, a small place in Orange, CA called Chapman University was used as the site of Bullwinkle's alma matter. I'm an alum and saw a pic of the place dressed up, complete with water tower. It lloked pretty cool, ina very cartoony way.
