LOST is turning out to be one of the worst dry-humps in tv history - with ZERO re-watchability. These DVD's are going to be bargain bin/garage sale fodder within a matter of a few short days. They're won't even suitable as beer coasters. Thanks for the give-away Herc, I seriously appreciate the offer/effort, but on this particular set of DVD's, I'll pass. What's the next give-away, AOL disks? ;-)

And I don't have a cell phone. And I'm at work during this contest. And I'm not sure I'd want the first three seasons, because I'm not going to buy the last three seasons and with a show like Lost it needs to be all or nothing. And apparently I have nothing useful to say . . so I'll shut up.

Whether it has any rewatchablity, depends how it ends. I know that sounds like a stupid thing to say, but if they fuck up completely or just ignore a whole load of mythology, then a rewatch would just be a exercise in fustration. One things for sure, if you got the whole series in a boxset, can't imagine Across The Sea would get too many playings... <P><P>And what is this, like the 4th Lost talkback in a week?

first 3 Seasons were great, they're unwatchable now, since we know that nothing that happened during the first 3 Seasons mattered at all and none of the characters, except for Jack, meant anything...

AICN gets product, and uses it for Twitter followers? Are we that cheap? Best Buy, Fry's, for fucks sake Ebay has it for next to nothing. Don't dignify something so easily pathetic as a Twitter follower to pasify these fuckheads. Go to the library and get any season of LOST. Unless you're an Obama hating-facist, then you hate libraries. Maybe the used book store. Either way. Avoid the AICN grab for cash.

A hologram equivalent thereof (sometime in the near future), and while I don't relish the thought of watching Brian Dennehy taking a monster dump in realtime, watching Megan Fox take a shower in realtime wouldn't perturb me too much.<P>Simple privacy as we know it is reaching its death knell. Perhaps I'll live long enough to see its funeral, but I don't look forward to that day.

I marathoned all five seasons prior to the season six premere on Blu-Ray (thanks to Amazon's insane $108 price for all five), and I was honestly still engrossed. Any great story will stand up to another viewing or read or whatever. There's some shit I didn't care for (season 2's agonizing "Fire + Water" comes to mind...Charlie, you stupid TWAT), but I still loved revisiting the series. Even as bad as The X-Files got in its latter seasons (mainly the last two), I can still throw on a number of classic episodes from early in its run and greatly enjoy them.

Followed by the last parts of S3, then all of S1 and then 2. Just my two cents. Season 4 is the shit though. It's so unabashedly driven and focused. It's about leaving things behind, and also about facin the past. . And it's brilliant.

Due to their inability to concieve children, that's the way The Others replenished their ranks, was by kidnapping children who somehow got to the island. See: Alex & the two kids who are always with Cindy the insane flight attendent. Only when they got ahold of Walt, he was all weird and 'Special' and they really couldn't handle him and seemed quite happy to get rid of him.

you summarize the seasons into a sentence of two. examples:<br><br>season 1: introduces the candidates<br>season 2: Introduces Dharma and the others<br>season 3: shows what happened to dharma, and shows what the others spend their time doing. (nothing really.. hanging out on an island, i guess.)<br>season 4: shows what happens when the candidates leave.<br>season 5: how the candidates get back<br>season 6: what the purpose of the candidates is.<br><br>just try and ignore the 100 or so mysteries that were presented and left unanswered (because there is no answer) in the course of 6 seasons. Then you can still enjoy it.

...its not 100% perfect, but each season, I've sat down an watched the previous season on DVD right before the new one premieres, and am always impressed with how well things flow (when not interrupted by week long breaks between episodes) and how things early in the series fit so neatly with things we learn far later on. And the rewatchability factor is immense, so the show specializes in big reveals which cast past events in a new light.<BR> <BR> Season 5, for instance, is a whole different experience when you realize that Locke isn't really Locke.

They lost all ideas of where the hell it was that they were trying to go and just kinda fucking made shit up as they went along and shit that just looked really cool and shit. <P> that kind of sums it up right?

it has a proper arc, interesting new characters and besides the one duff episode (Ji Yeon, with its gimmick structure) is almost consistently brilliant. Plus it features The Constant, probably the best episode they ever did. When its all over, we might look back at that scene where Ben turned the wheel as the point at which LOST stopped making sense. I mean its now almost 2 years later and do we know WHY they started skipping through time? <P><P>Remember when they negotiated the end-date? The orginal plan was 2 seasons of 20+ episodes, which was then changed to 3 seasons of 16. You have to wonder how much of the time travel stuff would've been left out if they went with the original plan. Might have been a more focused story
