Fincher's got a whale of tale to tell us, lads!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The ever reliable Borys Kit has a new story at Heat Vision about Mr. David Fincher helming Disney's newest take on Jules Verne's 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA. That's a bit of a trade-up considering this very same project almost happened last year with McG behind the camera. Not only are we looking at a high-seas adventure flick directed by David Fincher, but they're bringing in Scott Z. Burns (THE INFORMANT!, BOURNE ULTIMATUM) to write the next retelling of Captain Nemo and the crew of the Nautilus. This is terribly exciting. I think having such a pedigree on this flick could result in the perfect summer blockbuster type movie... a giant spectacle with brains. Time-wise, Kit and Matthew Belloni speculate that Fincher could have time to direct a small flick before submerging himself (yuk-yuk-yuk) in this project. What do you folks think of this development? Who could possibly play Nemo now? Anybody better than James Mason out there? Doubtful... Brian Cox, maybe?
