Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Somewhere Vern popped a boner at this news... and I can't blame him. I wasn't goofy gonzo in love with UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: REGENERATION, but that final fight between Van Damme and Lundgren was epic. Out of Cannes, THR reports that not only are Lundgren and Van Damme back, but they're going to be back in threeeeeee diiiimmmmeeeennnnssssiiiooonnnnsss! I'm not the world's biggest proponent of 3-D, but I love a well done gimmicky genre use of the tech. Tongue in cheek, over the top action... yeah. Although fast movement doesn't translate well to 3-D, so director John Hyams might have his hands full making that work. Filming begins in October!
