Thursday Night For NBC!!
I am – Hercules!!
“Outsourced,” an India-set sitcom just ordered to series, is likely headed to Thursday nights while Thursday’s “The Marriage Ref” will likely disappear until midseason, NBC entertainment president Angela Bromstad tells the Hollywood Reporter’s James Hibberd.
NBC announces its fall schedule next Monday.
Other points of interest:
* Both “Chuck” and “Heroes” are still in contention for renewal.
* Already-renewed reality shows “Who Do You Think You Are” and “Minute To Win It” are also likely to go away until midseason.
* NBC is likely launch an hour of comedy outside Thursday. (Could "30 Rock" end up anchoring it to make room for "Outsourced" on Thursday?)

No 30 Rock on Thursday? Nooooo.
-
tried to lube his cock and ended up with a fistful of sperm and spit.. and a frowning girlfriend.
-
Always just a little late for the party.
-
overseas and in DVD sales to justify another couple of seasons? Not that I'm wishing that on anyone.
-
Seems the new trend that Family Guy started is taking internet memes and injecting them into shows for cheap lulz. Plus now NBC has to inject their Green Initiative twice a year, which is always connected to GE products. Fuck NBC, SNL is the only thing worth watching on it.
-
That's funny. I though it was gone.
-
As in, green cash. For General Electric. The planet? Screw the planet. Is *that* what you thought the Green Initiative was about? Oh, yeah, giant corporations and media conglomerates are concerned about *the environment*.

Now, buy a GE washer and dryer set. Now!
-
a big corporation with polluting and worker exploitation PR problems will run a commercial with just their logo, a toddler being tackled by lab puppies on a fur carpet, a playful toy piano melody and Morgan Freeman's voice-over just saying.. "mmm.. fluffy".
-
but with minorities.
-
Great job! Nice second post/burn (although, at least diggerd wrote something relevant to the thread, but it was a perfect setup and finish, bravo!), and the toddler-tackled-by-lab-puppies sounds about right. Maybe you could/should sell that idea to Toyota, or BP.

-Cheers
-
O.k., so a comedy about people's jobs (presumably Americans' jobs) being outsourced to India during the worst economic recession since the Great Depression? Anybody see a problem with marketing that to a primetime American audience?

-Cheers
-
isn't it a bit risky to make a show about people taking American jobs away? Or does it literally just become an Indian version of The Office? In which case the title is actually pointless...
-
Ha!! Yes, it might actually help BP right about now.
-
How fucked we are when it comes to jobs. I am a little surprised with Heroes still being around, I guess all those pilots that greenlighted after Leno bombed. Of course, if you can pull in a 2.0 on a proven commodity instead of a 1.5 with an unproven show. DVD sales are keeping it around.
-
Completely un-fucking-watchable. NBC just didn't have the balls to throw this piece of shit back at Seinfeld. I guess they owed him one.
-
...sounds like fail. Office is on its last legs. I don't like 30 Rock's chances on another night. British Office had it right: End it before it gets stale. American TV execs have no concept of that.
-
I'm giving up on the big 3, what the hell do these guys do. I believe they ignore all other methods of checking the popularity of a show other than Nielsen. I cannot believe they take into account HULU, Youtube, NBC.com, iTunes downloads etc and still consider Chuck to be on the bubble. I buy the new Chuck episode each week on iTunes and watch it in HD. I do this to show my support of this show. DONT SCREW THIS UP NBC!!!!!
-
How is it that we still CANNOT EDIT A POST??? What the hell is the Login for if not to allow things like editing? Now I look like even more of a tool because of a mispelling. Thanks alot... :)
-
NBC wins the race to worst network. Way to go guys!
Racism disguised as open mindedness is so sad. Learn the hard way.
-
Frankly I think it's a perfect line-up right now. Community has really been coming into its own (Last Thursday's was AWESOME), as has Parks and Rec, The Office is still decent and it will hopefully end after next season with the departure of Michael Scott, unless they somehow find a way to inject it with new characters, and 30 Rock, while not at its prime, still illicits enough laughs to go with its good stories (not great, but good). Wow, what a run-on, but have you seen Bitch Hunter? Brilliant!

"With serialized shows like “Parenthood” and “Heroes” that don’t
by Dreamwriter
I'm sorry, but how would they know? They've *NEVER* aired repeats of Chuck or Heroes, except for like 2 or 3 episodes to fill some gap. The darn networks don't air repeats of their biggest shows anymore, they try instead to sell DVD sets, which just hurts the shows. Repeats bring in new viewers and allow old viewers who missed episodes to catch up.
-
We know a typo when we see it. It's okay. The reason why most forums don't allow for edits is because it's abused. People go back and make it look like they wrote something entirely different because they regret it later. But some forums take care of that by time and date stamping edits. I think talkback will forever remain exactly how it is.
-
And if they had to choose between Chuck and Heroes, I can see them making the dumb choice, and going with a half season of Heroes because "it used to have an audience" and "Maybe they'll come back to see how it ends"
-
Any credibility your statement may have had died with, "Fuck NBC, SNL is the only thing worth watching on it."
-
about the call center? i dont think americans are gonna laff at a show that glorifies the destruction of their economy
-
It occurs to me, I am starting to hate TV. I dislike NBC except for liking The Office, Parks & Recreation, 30 Rock, and Community. Heroes I watch out of habit. The corporation I detest after how they handled the Conan thing (I know, I know, but they care across rather poorly). ABC has Lost, which I love but that is wrapping up. Flash Forward seems to be much better, however that's probably gone. Nothing else on the network really does anything for me. I watch House on Fox but I do so despite hating the company.

Overall, there aren't many shows that I make a point of watching with any great passion, some of them are wrapping up shortly, the other ones watched-by-habit are not great, and what's replacing the shows that I do like that get canceled seem to suck. I just think current TV does not have much to offer me, or else I'm just missing the boat on shows that I'm unaware of. That said, I think I'd LOVE Breaking Bad and Supernatural and a few other indie-type shows. I just need to get the DVD's and catch up on them so I'm not starting years into the shows.

-Cheers
-
And I'll also second whoever it was that said last week's episode of Community was awesome.
-
They should bring it back 2-3x a year as a mini-series, maybe like a 3 or 4 parter. There are plenty of good characters on there that they could write some good stories for, instead of having a season with only 2-3 fx laden episodes and then wasting everyone's time with a bunch of padding, do it like this and have a slam-bang mini.
-
Neuters Brilliant Comedy. First they screw Letterman, now Conan. There is nothing I care to watch on NBC. There are many other channels available, and after what they did to Conan, I have deleted it from my channels.
-
Every time I see an article about NBC pilots it is never mentioned. He's had just bad luck with pilots. Hoping this one makes it.
-
Nothing But Community
-
NBC want's to fuck that show so bad, i can see it being yanked from thursdays and plunked in a deadzone tuesday lineup where it won't get watched and then cancelled. Comunity is the new scrubs, underappreciated!
-
Bitchhunter!
-
I WOULD like to see him get a show and have it take off. I've always loved Adam Carolla, and The Hammer was really under-appreciated and a very good, VERY funny movie.

-Cheers
-
I saw Dark Knight up there! I saws it!
IN NOLAN WE TRUST!
-
It's like watching a super-talented and wildly successful friend become a drug-addled thief.
-
...thumbs up to Outsourced is some kind of genius. That show is going to kill. Their bonus package for the year should be in the seven figure range. It should get the nine o'clock slot. Build the whole night's schedule around it. You could team it with...
...Got To Squat, a hilarious sitcom about a homeless family who move from one foreclosed house to another pretending to be the new residents. Something always trips up those rascals. And...
...Rolling The Jones, the first comedy to explore the wacky world of investment bankers. At Golden Sacks they might hide their liabilities but they reveal the side-splitting world of the one percenters who have leveraged away your future. Plus...
...China Calling! This comedy is set in the near future, when the US has defaulted on its international debt. What that means for the Dumas family is indentured funitude in the service of a family newly arrived from China to take possession of the Dumas' house. It's a crazy clash of cultures for the Wang and Dumas families.
Can't wait for Fall!
-
Say....that gives me an idea for a Michael Bay project.
-
How many more years of this idiocy before the GE board cleans house at NBC? This reminds me of HBO a few years back and they're only just now floundering back. Oh yeah, this idea is obviously retarded for the reason everyone else here was able to grasp, but not a single person at NBC was able to figure out.
-
Because that's the only block I WATCH on NBC, so if they fuck that up, fuck them forever. And somebody kill the idiots who want the Office canceled.

Does ABC have a replacement for FlashForward lined up yet?
by VikkiMarsdale
That's the only thin that might change my Thursday Night viewing habits, which is watch Ff and the Shonda soaps, then the Doctor Who rerun on PBS, then watch the Bones and Fringe I taped. NBC, CBS and CW could just air college basketball every Thursday for all I'd ever know about it.

Outsourced really does sound like in incredible bomb, though. Like, for years, when people need a bad show to compare other bad shows, or other bad NBC choices or other failed series to, "Outsourced" will be the new American "Coupling".

Yes, I watch the soap opera doctor shows. I'm so old I remember when "Camp Runamuck" was the bad show things got compared to.

A match made in heaven, lampooning corporate culture and quickening our march to the doomed but also inevitable revolution on overpaid corporate fat cats!!!! Oh wait, who pays for this shit again?
-
Heroes I do agree could maybe be retired soon. But hopefully NBC will at least let them wrap it up. Same with Chuck if the bell must toll. I think it's a crime if any series that had been around for more then 3 seasons gets canned w/o a proper ending. Farscape was probably one of the greatest crimes against TVkind, but PK Wars helped heal that. And Sarah Connor Chronicles, while only at 2 seasons, REALLY deserved at least one more. Anyways...Heroes: They can play with the "Heroes out in the open!" bit, which will at least give them some more material to work with, but ultimately should be used to wrap things up. Chuck, by very it's nature, needs a happy ending. Obvious ending: Chuck and Sarah get married, Casey+Morgan become successful agents, and Captain Awesome is awesome. And maybe Chuck's sister ends up owning the BuyMore through some quirk where Chuck's dad gives her a boatload of money, just to mix things up!
-
Expects ratings to rise.
-
hence the reason NBC is gonna give it a final season, to (hopefully) end it in a positive manner
-
-is bad news for me. 8-10 on Thursdays is the only NBC I make a point of watching. Replace one of those shows with some turd of a program, and the whole house of cards collapses for me as a viewer, oh National Biscuit Company!
-
The Office was outstanding back in 2006. Nowadays, it can still be OK, but it's often terrible. Seeing Jim and Pam get married should have been a really memorable moment, but they ruined it with that terrible Chris Brown wedding entrance dance thing from the internet (which also wasn't nearly as funny as people made it out to be). How awful was that?
-
Only a rich asshole who works in Hollywood is enough of an idiot to create a show about outsourcing our jobs to another country and then think we are going to watch it and laugh? I would love to meet the brainchild of this show, just so I could punch him in the face.
-
Just as funny as a Jewish Ghetto comedy film if made in 1939.
-
...on which this show is going to be based was actually a very funny, well-written and thoughtful indie, and I can totally see it making a successful transition to television. But why on earth is NBC messing with their one night of programming that actually works?
-
the show just makes me angry. It's like it was written by retards. They should have cancelled it the minute they wrote Missy Peregym out of the series. Who gets rid of a smokin' hot piece of ass like that ?
-
Outsourced to the circular file.
-
Outsourced cancelled in 5 episodes.
-
...and our misery? It has sucked since the second season - everyone knows it, including NBC. As for Chuck, meh. If it goes, no biggie.
-
It *would* just be like NBC to try to deep-six it, but I for one will scream bloody murder if they do. It should be paired with "30 Rock." This "Outsourced" thing sounds lame in the extreme, as well as somewhat racist. Why in hell does NBC continue to be so annoying and stupid?
-
once it's canceled i have no reason to watch their shit
-
The repeated attempts to cash in on the serials are going to continue to fail. Lost has succeeded, but not without difficulty, and it's going to be hard to get people hooked again.

I can see them doing a final run of Heroes and promoting the hell out of it. Chuck may be given another short order with an option if the ratings hold up.
-
My wife and I watch it if we think about it. Last week's episode with Seinfeld, Silverman, and Gerrardo was funny as hell though. Definitely the best peanut gallery comments episode to date in my opinion.
-
sucks major ass
seriously

-
when that's the only thing they do good?
-
Harry does have a real forum: it's called the Zone. But you're idiotic @$$ is too dumb to realize it. Ta.
