Sarsgaard's GREEN LANTERN baddie, Hector Hammond, has been photographed!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a spy pic of Mr. Peter Sarsgaard as the big headed Hector Hammond in GREEN LANTERN. I was pointed to Sky's Showbiz site by a reader calling himself Snorks. Obviously this was captured when Sarsgaard isn't in full costume... probably just out of make-up and walking to the costume trailer or his own personal domain to admire his ginormous dome. Gotta give them credit for going whole hog after the look from the book. Here he be:

Crazy, huh? Thoughts? -Quint Follow Me On Twitter

I hope they do this movie right. I really fucking do. This is cool, but what they really need to get 100% right is the constructs.
Also, what is this about a CG costume? The glowing badge needs to be CG obviously, and when he reverts back to Hal Jordan, but is this like, all the time CG? Wont that make it look like Wizard of Oz in technicolor?

Not that I'm totally sold on what Warner is doing with the Green Lantern pic, but if you think the reason the Fantastic Four films sucked is because the were too heavily pulling from the comic books you haven't read them. In the Comics Dr. Doom where's battle armor; it isn't some bad form of space acne so the actor can have lots of 'face' time.

He needs to induce nightmares in small children.

No, I don't think FF tanked because it pulled too heavily from the comics (I know better, I also know that it's Box Office was big enough to green light the sequel). I'm getting at the fact that most of the 'sci-fi' comics out there are pretty ridiculous when transferred to the big screen. GL is a supporting character in another DCU movie...then if the reception is decent he gets his own flick. But jumping straight into a story about a guy with a magic ring that fights THIS dude? That's going to be a bridge too far for most audiences. It has nothing to do with the makeup, or faithfulness to the comics, it has to do with comic-superhero-sci-fi. Movie goers will generally take one or the other, but there's yet to be a film that proves they can mix well on screen.

can mix just fine on screen. audiences ask for 4 things and will usually settle for just one or two of these.
1.a good story
2.lots of action
3.engaging dialogue
4.a good cast
iron man and transformers are two series that are very comic-superhero-sci-fi and have sold well. now whether green lantern can match the quality of the first iron man remains to be seen. at the very least it could settle (sadly) for transformers success by just meeting the action quota.
