I am – Hercules!! “South Park’s” last pre-hiatus episode matched the season high in 18-49 it hit seven weeks ago with its season premiere. That season premiere snagged the animated comedy’s biggest audience since 1999, so maybe Wednesday’s episode was the second-biggest since 1999? In any case, the Towelie-centric story at 10 p.m. smoked both CBS’ repeat of “CSI: NY” and the premiere of ABC’s poorly reviewed “Happy Town.”

    I think many people...

    ...were just expecting something close to or in the vein of 200 and 201. They were probably expecting Parker/Stone to throw another stone in the censorship gears of Comedy Central. Alas, they did not. Still decent episode, though. Only real funny sight gag was the 'raping shark.'

    Look at all those 1.0 and aboves for cable shows. The networks have to be shitting themselves that viewers are scattered all over like that now. NBC's Mercy almost got beat by Ghost Hunters and TUF.

    Loving having feuds with Trey and Matt. It gives them plausible deniability when they do something to offend everyone, said in-house controversy becoming a catalyst for a ratings boost.<br /> <br /> I actually hope this is the case and that there's not a lot of internal tension. I'd like to see South Park last twenty years. Trey and Matt's movies aren't as good as their best SP episodes and the show just keeps getting more and more creative<br /> <br /> I love how last night's episode never directly admits that Kenneth was actually Cartman in disguise...

    Imo, this show just gets better and better and together with South Park make the best hour on TV. You Americans are very lucky; living in the UK I have to wait till the next day to download them. And to Parker/Stone... you're the best satirists of the 21st century thus far. This season has been brill - roll on October!

    And, at least according to Hercules, getting a 2.0 constitutes "crushing" the show that gets a 1.7; I guess in this day and age, a 0.3 difference means the lower-rated show got "smoked".

    OMFG, did Christopher Paolini write this shit? Happy Town has BY FAR the WORST fucking piece of shit dialogue I have ever heard in my life. Grade school theater has better writing. You'd think that at some point an actor or producer or SOMEONE would ask "What the fucking hell is this shit? This isn't dialogue!" It's like the screenwriter wasn't in a very creative mood so he simply wrapped story ideas from his notebook in quotes. "There we go, instant dialogue! Who will notice?" Fucking cancel that shit right the fuck now. It's an abomination.

    One of the best SP's over the past few seasons. What's great about the show, you don't need Cartman, Butters, or Randy Marsh yucking it up every week. Towlie, Nathan, Mimsy, and handicapped kids ripped off from old cartoons were hilarious.

    That was fucking awful. It's as if, instead of having the slightest hint of originality or creativity, the creators of that show watched Twin Peaks and took notes about everything they thought they could steal without people noticing. <p> This is not a case like Wild Palms or American Gothic where comparisons are made to Twin Peaks because of vague commonalities of dark tones or strange happenings; this is wholesale theft of the most shameless kind. <p> What a goddamn shame that it has so many interesting actors. Steven Weber, Amy Acker, Sam Neill... Jesus, you guys. You can do better than this. ABC, please fire these writers.

    Surprised to hear it won the 10pm slot. Nobody even got raped OR murdered. Sharon Stone proved she's an overrated scene-chewer who has 1 note that she plays all the time. And it had Brad Dourif being less weird than usual, it was a real surprise to see him here, I think they could have had more him and less Sharon Stone and it would have worked, "is this man too weird to beat the fire marshal's testimony???" sort of shit.<p>Anyway, after last week's "who will murder Matt & Trey" news, I'm not surprised it beat Crappy Town, the worst-marketed new show of the year. Too bad M&T squandered that goodwill on a bland, pointless exercise that brought the whole season down a notch.

    they are mostly just collecting a fat paycheck at this point but occasionally do get inspired with a good episode..the Facebook ep was one...this one was ok. But they did so many brilliant episodes early on that they've earned the right to coast for as long as they want.
