Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. There's been some rumblings about this, but now it seems official according to Variety. I kind of love Helen Mirren taking over John Gielgud's role in an ARTHUR remake. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not happy about the remake trend, but I've always said if the filmmakers can bring something new to the table, bring in interesting collaborators, I don't mind too terribly. Is there any man alive that could top Gielgud's turn in ARTHUR? It's iconic, it's hilarious... the dude won an Oscar for it, for Christ's sake! Taking it from a butler to a nanny played by Helen Mirren might be just the fascinating difference that could make this work. Plus, I'm a sucker for Russell Brand. I'm sorry, I know he rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but I think he's hilarious. So, we have the director of the pilot for Modern Family, Jason Winer, directing these two and I have to hope we're going to get something of quality.
