Moriarty on the Radio, Harry on the Television...
Well... the end of the world is surely coming, as Moriarty is actually going to be projecting his voice out into the world via a radio show (that will also be available online.) Meanwhile, the date for my next guest spot on Ebert's show has been set up for the Halloween weekend show, I go tape it on the 26th, 27th of October, for airing that weekend. I guess Roger decided that my orange hair would be in keeping with the festivities. So... There ya have it.... Here's Moriarty to talk about his singing debut...
Hey, Head Geek...
"Moriarty" here.
Well, I'm fairly sure there's been some sort of
mistake. I was working in the Labs this evening and I
heard the unmistakable PHWOOP! of the pneumatic tube
that lines one wall. I walked over and retrieved a
message that seems to have been earmarked for a "David
F." inviting me (or him, I suppose) to be a guest on a
radio show this coming Saturday morning.
Now, Harry... you know as well as I do that personal
appearances for the Professor only serve to give the
authorities a time and place to drop by and pick me
up, but I've been working to perfect the Moto-Moriarty
that suffered severe party damage at that DETROIT ROCK
CITY party, and I think I'll be making an appearance
after all.
For all those AICN readers who are interested and in
Los Angeles, it's 790 AM, KABC, from 10:00 to 10:45
(roughly) this coming Saturday.
For everyone else, you can go to www.kabc.com and use
their webfeed to listen in. Just remember... those
times are Pacific Standard.
I'm not quite sure what I'll be discussing with the
show's hosts (David Poland and George Pennacchio), but
we'll see what sort of mayhem we can muster.
Right now, I have to go finish the audio/video feeds
on the Moto-Moriarty, so he can be ready for his
adventure. Until then...
"Moriarty" out.

I was beginning to think that Mr. Ebert was never going to invite you back! So what are you planning to dress up as this Halloween? (To other readers: insert your own joke here.)
-
Missed your first appearance, Harry, due to a miscalculated arrival time back at home and then remembering forgetting to set the VCR. I shall not make the same mistake twice, however... by the way, do you have any idea what the movies you'll be reviewing are yet?
-
Professor, remember! Reverse the polarity on the simalcrum's vocoder, or the voice on the radio is going to sound just like you! (we want the local constabulary to think it's a hoax!) Plus make sure whatever location you are broadcasting from is completely soundproofed, so the authorities have no audible clues as top your wherabouts. Please know that I mention this not for the fear of your incarceration per se. It's just the concept of all those indentured henchmen you employ suddenly free and running amuck... It gives me shudders just to think about it! Brrrrrr! I know. You're the Evil Genius. You've thought of this already, I'm sure... I'm not being presumptuous... Just concerned.
-
Oh, but I kid. I know this is a far cry from Moriarty's ultimate wish to appear on Rick Dees' morning show, but you've got to start somewhere, right? After all, I have my own quixotic dream to one day throw the cape on James Brown at the Apollo. Then, there's that selling of my spec MICRONAUTS script, but even a fool such as myself knows the difference between the attainable and a pipe dream. In any event.... have fun, guys!
-
You have clowns to the left of you, do you? Better check that one of them isn't Pisso, or he may urinate on your shoes. Be alert. :)
-
You didn't list the films you would be reviewing. Did they tell you, or do you not know until the day of shooting?
-
Since it is a Halloween show I sincerely hope you and Roger the doger there do a nice little horror show.
-
.....but in honor of Pisso, I just wet my pants here at work. Good thing I've got an absorbent seat. On the downside, though, I just ate some asparagus.....
-
Why is it that whenever Harry goes on Ebert's show, I'm out of town? I guess I'll just have to listen to the Real Audio later in the week. Also, for us AICNers that aren't in LA, could you guys possible sneak some sort of audio file of Moriarty's appearance onto the site? Pretty please with sugar on top? I want to hear the evil genius and see if he sounds as scary as he claims to be.
-
Given the air date of the show, Harry will at least review Being John Malkovich and The Princess Mononoke.
-
baff.
-
Hey Harry, it would be a really great idea if you said the name "Narf" on the show. Just shout out some props to me. I'd really appreciate it. That, or publicly berate Disney for cancelling the Chasing Amy Special Edition DVD that was supposed to come out in Canada. Apparently, the House of Mouse was pissed because Alliance was making a top-notch disc at a good price, generally making them look bad. So it's been shelved, and all we get is a crummy movie-only version.
-
Anyone who missed the first time Harry took advantage of Gene Siskel's passing can view the entire show: click HARRY'S WORLD at the bottom of this page, click the HARRY KNOWLES ARCHIVE link, voila! Good luck, Harry. Ditto, Moriarty.
-
Finally, we will know the pseudonym Moriarty uses to do business in the "legitimate" world. We have you now, evil genius! Also, I am glad to hear the news about Harry being on Ebert's show again. I seem to remember some moron reporting that Ebert had insulted Harry (made comments about his weight and appearance) on the Howard Stern Show and had claimed he wouldn't have Harry back. I guess that was wrong.

Download the broadcast from here http://www.xenutv.com/radio/moriarty.htm As far as I can tell the site has no connection to Moriarty, but the download's cool enough.
