Kirsten Dunst is joining the cast of Lars von Trier's MELANCHOLIA.

Melancholia is a sci-fi disaster film that will shoot July through September in Southern Sweden, with Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, Alexander Skarsgaard, Stellan Skarsgaard and Udo Kier also attached to roles.

END SPOILER! Wonder how, or if, Lars will desecrate his cast this time around? I know some folks who missed ANTICHRIST when it made the theatrical circuit. If you're one of 'em, it's now streamable through Netflix (HERE - in HD, I believe). It's an intensely disquieting film filled with occasion beauty and tremendously raw (but unnervingly truthful) ugliness. It's to be avoided by the squeamish, and is certainly not for everyone - but it's definitely not forgettable. MELANCHOLIA. Sounds like fun! ;-)
