    This is the best

    by serenely_wired

out of all the ones they have released. Neither the spots nor the trailer have convinced me yet that this will be better than the first Iron Man. More like a rehash of the first one and that could get tired.

Is his role more than a cameo in this one?

black widow is wasted in the story

    by phoenixmagida5th

hope u like that scene of her fighting that one due because that is about the extent of action work she does in this film. Just finished the novel of the film. Unless they made major changes to the end this is gonna suck because of the ending.

  • April 13, 2010, 2:45 a.m. CST

its very much a rehash of the end of the first filmwith

    by phoenixmagida5th

Stealing the common ending from all 3 spidey movies. And yes to the guy above fury has like two scenes max

  • April 13, 2010, 2:47 a.m. CST

    also farv goes into shamaylan

    by phoenixmagida5th

Territory by putting his character into pretty much every scene of the film that is destined to take people out of the reminded me of m knight in lady in the water. I know happy hogan was part of the comics but couldn't his ego let it be just a cameo or hire another actor not expand his role

    well these novels are

    by phoenixmagida5th

Based off the first draft so hopefully yhey changed a lot. From the previews its clear they have made some changes but the scenes that I didn't like in the book are still in the film. Like that black widow fight scene in the trailer is a pointless scene that has no bearing in the plot in the end. Other than show johanssen in a sexy outfit. However it does appear they added more fury or maybe just changed the setting of one of his scenes

  • April 13, 2010, 3:28 a.m. CST

    but he has very

The More I See, The WORSE It Looks

    by LaserPants

Is it just me? I thought the first one was pretty fun, but that's about it. This looks too smirky and silly. Still don't understand why they didn't just make Ellis' Iron Man Extremis comic into a movie. It's my fave Iron Man book (yes, count me as one of those who thought the addition of the extremis virus to Tony's physiology was a good thing and made him more interesting).

    Iron Man 2 - Kick A$$

    by Salamander

can't wait for IM2 and was the no! film for me to see this year but after seeing Kick Ass, holy crapola I didn't know nothing about it until i saw a trailer a month ago but that film kicks steel balls. From potty mouth Hit-Girl (hope the US doesn't get any language cuts) to Kick Ass's first outing. Bloody funny a must see for comiic geeks - This has got to be the sort of superhero film that tarantino would want to make can't wait for AICN review of this bad boy!

Kick-ass looks fun with out watered Down PG-13 BS, but I know this is AICN and it cool to hate shit. I'm usually a willing participant but I dont Think Kick-Ass has warranted the Hate yet.

I mean seriously, there are so many Iron-Men in this movie you can't tell the difference between the good guys and the bad guys without a program. Shit, some chick is even dressed up as "Iron-Maiden". It's going to be like "little people" transformers or something.

What, Exactly, "Different" About Extreme Violence?

    by LaserPants

I used to be really into transgressive violence (espeically when perpetrated by asian filmmakers), but now I'm bored of it. I'm not offended by it, just tired of it. It's not cool or interesting or different, it's boring and lazy and dumb. It's been done before, and better, by the likes of Miike, Tarantino, Rodriguez, Verhoven, and others. Kick Ass is watered down hard-R for the masses of asses. Nothing more, nothing less. It would be more of a challenge to make a funny, insightful, satire of comic books at PG-13. It doesn't take brains, or balls, to go ultraviolent; it takes laziness and a dearth of REAL ideas.

    Robert Downey Sr.

    by MrMajestic

In an unrelated note Downey Sr. is a noted liberal/left wing speaker whilst his son is now a Republican-lite. Downey Jr. started off a liberal like most actors but since getting out of jail and sobering up he's admitted that his views are now quite conservative. He's no Ann Coulter or Glen Beck but his views are right of center now. I'm sure he's still pro-choice and gay marriage but in most other ways conservative. Which is kinda cool 'cause that's kinda like me.

All you've seen is the trailers. Studios put those together the way they want to. It doesn't mean that is the basis of the movie. You have no idea what is in store just by watching a trailer. And yes, I thought Avatar was better than I expected too. Trailers didn't pump me up for it though... Just have to wait for the movie. Remember, Michael Bay is not blowing up the city in this movie, have high hopes brother... :-)

Armor that appears (or disappears) into nothing = not good

    by Hervoyel

Another poster mentioned this on the Gaiking thread where the pilots helmet just sort of folded up into nothing and he was dead right. Seeing this trailer and watching that ridiculous fold up Iron Man costume sort of "climb up" Downey's body was screwed up. It looks so damn fake and I don't understand why they don't see it. They must not see it because moviemakers keep doing it. It isn't cool, it's just very obviously not-real.

  • April 13, 2010, 1:15 p.m. CST

    what's with this avatar love?

    by cloudrider`

i thought it's already universally accepted that it's an overhyped bullshit, storywise. i was a firm believer in that film, until i saw it.

In the old comics, Tony carried his Ironman suit around in a briefcase. Is that any more believable? In the end, it's most likely an homage that they thought could work into the story and be made to look really cool. After all, it's not like if Tony gets into trouble, he can whistle and his suit will fly to him. Without the suitcase suit, he would have to wear his armor EVERYWHERE. That would suck. Just don't look into it too much, it works for the story. You wouldn't understand Stark Industry technology, just let it slide this time.. ;-)

It's hard to understand all of the bitching about this

    by SithMenace

Would you rather Tim Story directed this? The few things they got wrong in the first were heavily outweighed by everything they got right, including the incredible Stan Winston designed suit, the Mark 1 suit, Iron Monger, Downey as Stark with the underlying alcohol problem, Paltrow as Potts and Sam Jackson as Nick Fury. Why would anyone think this one would be any different?
