By the Power of Grayskull! PREDATORS writers taking a crack at Eternia?

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The always reliable Borys Kitt has a story at his Heat Vision Blog at The Hollywood Reporter regarding the latest attempt at bringing MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE to the big screen... again. You might remember Warner Bros was developing a Masters of the Universe movie scripted by Justin Marks a while back, but Mattel is apparently a bit difficult to work with and retain complete approval. I've heard nothing but great things about Marks' script, but if Mattel didn't care for it that's that. Columbia Pictures has the rights now and have hired Mike Finch and Alex Litvak to take a crack at the story. The screenwriting pair recently came on to spruce up Robert Rodriguez's decade-old draft on PREDATORS. I've read a draft of their Predators and it's a ton of fun. As a child of the '80s, He-Man has a special place in my childhood nostalgia, so I'm not against seeing a new He-Man movie. I mean, as cheesy and ridiculously entertaining as the Dolph Lundgren movie was that's hardly Masters of the Universe. No Battle Cat, no Prince Adam, almost no time spent in Eternia and 100% more Courtney Cox than could be found in the cartoon. My only hope with the film, if it gets made, is that we get a deeper sense of Fantasy fun than in the last movie. Oh, and a good movie. And if they really want to piss people off: Orko saves the day at the end! And time is working in their favor. Courtney Cox has grown into the role of Skeletor! Make it so!
