...faces in Jackson's LOTR a little digitally to make them seem more than human...play with eye spacing etc...because for the most part they looked like pasty, bloated transvestites in white makeup.
This movie has the right idea.

When was the first concept art for Dren put out on the nets? 6-7 years ago? I can't believe I'm finally going to see this flick in June. Happy to hear that it's going to kick so much ass, too. Psyched!!! Great interview, too.

He made many zingers, wondering if he did it all along and I've just missed it.

Last year was the SF year of the hacks (Abrams, Bay, Sommers, Snyder). This year seems like the REAL DIRECTORS like Natali and Nolan have made and are releasing proper good SF movies. If DISTRICT 9 and MOON had came out this year too, this could had been one of the best year for SF since 1981.

So it's SPLICE, INCEPTION, IRON MAN 2, TRON LEGACY, CENTURIAN, the next HARRY POTTER, WALL STREET 2 and ROBIN HOOD. This year is looking good, specially compared to the bullshit that was last year.

I've really been jonesing for whatever this guy can come up with next...this seems fetching to say the least, like something Cronenberg or Chris Cunningham would have an arseload of fun with. If Natali can propel himself into that kind of body horror echelon with this then he'll be lauded for that strike rate. LAUDED I tell you. It's interesting to note how his films all seem to feature really sterile environments...as if he spent his formative years being freaked out by labs and hospitals.

a loooong time ago. Hopefully, he has an easier time getting things made from here on out.

... according to JoBlo.com. If its based on Alan Moore's vision of Swamp Thing? YES PLEASE . . .

If anyone cam breathe a bit of life back into the Alien saga, its probably Natali.

Me in the theater opening day. Check. I love me some crazy creature design and I've been following this film for awhile. I'm really happy to see it's getting released in theaters.
Also, Sarah Polley is a fuckin' goddess.
April 9, 2010, 10:59 a.m. CST
It's not the best movie in the world but it does feature Sarah Polley in a kinda twisted Beauty and the Beast type tale. I think if that movie had more money it could have explored some of its ideas a hell of a lot better.

Is it between Brody and Dren? Sounds pretty Cronenberg-ish to me.
April 9, 2010, 1:26 p.m. CST
I sincerely hope it succeeds, there's been a serious lack of good creature movies. I wonder if it will release wide?
April 9, 2010, 2:06 p.m. CST
You said it, brother.
April 9, 2010, 2:11 p.m. CST
If the sex scene in the movie involves Sarah Polley, you have my ass on the seat in an heartbeat. Hell, you have that DVD purchased sight unseen. Sarah Polley is like he girlfiend i've always wished and i'll never have.

Cypher is pure Genius and Cube is amazing. If I meet Natali I'll give him a hug, and not in a gay way. I'm not gay or anything. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay. I'm not homophobic or anything. I even know a guy who knows a guy that has a gay cousin.
April 10, 2010, 3:57 a.m. CST
I'll take that as a stab as comedy, or if not fucking LOWWWL at the height of awkwardness! ;-)For some odd reason i'm associating what i've seen here with a little irish mutated parasite film called Isolation. That was deadly stuff. Like It's Alive with cows and boggers. Needs more Michael Moriarty
April 10, 2010, 11:03 a.m. CST
That is some uncomfortable, cringe inducing stuff! Good call Shpadoinkle! Isolation is an underseen Horror gem.

Is just midnight rerun-lame comedy. I do love Natali though. I think he has the potential to make the greates sci-fi movie of all time. And I will seek this Isolation flick ya talking about.

Tis the type of stuff Cronenberg's rural dreams are made of.
