Thank you thank you thank you Harry

This movie is gonna rock SO MUCH. Harry, I'll never thank you enough for promoting it like you have. I remember seeing a poll at Cinescape.com where it was the least anticipated fall movie of their selection. It got about 3% of votes.
But things are changing thanks to you, Harry. This movie is gonna be a magnificient piece of artwork, a huge hit and an Academy Award winner ! You heard it here first !
Thank you Harry Knowles, thank you Luc Besson and let's just say this: 30 days to the french opening !

    Naked lesbians here!!

    by spacemanji

Actually that's a lie but wouldn't be good if there were some naked lesbians here...Anyway this trailer looks a bit feckin sweeeet and Besson is a god, Malkovich is one of the 5 best actors on earth alongside Penn, Goodman,Spacey and Jackson, Dunaway needs a good role and this ought to be it and Jovovich is on her way to megastardom, so really it all seems a bit promising. All they need are a pair of gorgeous naked LESBIANS to romp explicitly and they've got the greatest fuckin film ever made... though without the LESBIANS, it may fail...mark my words, LESBIANS are the way forward for movies in the new milennium.

    goosebumps anyone?

    by meynard

    Whoa, Harry wasn't kidding.
This just jumped to the top of my list. It has epic written all over it. Being a Luc Besson film the only thing that it's missing is Gary Oldman. Need more Gary Oldman films.

    Opening a can

There hasn't been a good full-throttle hand-to-hand arse-kicking battle scene in a movie since Braveheart, and it was even longer before that. With this and Gladiator, I think things may be a changin', though. Also, Milla looks like she might actually have the acting chops to pull it all off. I definitely like her haircut. Yeah. http://www.almostcool.org

Check out the bowl cut Marge!

    by drippybits

Judging solely from the trailer this film looks to be on par whith Braveheart, and I love that film so this has really got me pumped, and I'm sure most people who are waiting for LOTR will have to see this film too. "Nest of sceaming bastards! Couldn't agree on the colour of shite!

    My Message...?

    by day4night

...This film is gonna kick MAJOR arse! I love those stories where the protagonist is misunderstood by the whole world. (yet the whole world sure doesn't mind exploiting them until they've played out their usefulness). Throw in some cool battle scenes, add a mix of rugged, dirty soldiers contrasted with cleaner-than-thou Church officials fighting over moral/theological issues of the day, (which could easily play into some of today's issues) and one confused kid caught up in the vortex of it all, and you've got a pretty damn good story to tell. That trailer was well worth the 15 minute download time.

    Luc Besson

    by bigjackiev

...rules! And this trailer is reinforcing that fact. Though someone made a good point about good trailers from movies that aren't quite up to par (Ep. 1)...this trailer evokes the emotional side of the movie as well as the arse-kicking side, though, so no worries here. My one worry was Milla...but she looks good in all senses of the word. Besson rules! What's the release date of this thing?

In French Luc Besson means "Thinks with his nuts."

    by themalcontent

Geeks, has anyone ever told you that you are far too easily pleased by the prospect of dismemberment? Is that all it takes to get you off, lots of people hacking at each other? When Akira Kurosawa does it I'm there with BATED breath -- it's not "baited" Harry, damn it -- but let's just take a moment to reflect on the fact that Luc Besson can't actually write or direct. Remember the dress-up sequence from The Professional, with Natalie Portman as Marilyn Monroe and Jean Reno as -- ulp -- John Wayne? Sustained whimsy in a movie like Rushmore is fine, but when it's bookended by Torquemada-type sadism and leering pedophilia it's merely revolting. And now we get a would-be epic starring that French fuck's ex-groupie as Joan of Arc. The guy has no taste.

What a Great Day for Trailers...

    by vb

Both "The Green Mile" and "The Messenger" out on the same day, how cool. Even cooler would be my ethernet connection here at school which allowed me to download each in a matter of seconds (I laugh at all you poor saps who have spend an hour downloading these awesome trailers). BTW, to the person who couldn't see the trailer I used to have that problem until I upgraded to QuickTime 4. If you are using a lower QuickTime, I suggest upgrading, that may work.

  • ..except that I'm eagerly anticipating it and very exited about it and it happenes that I saw the Messenger teaser the same night I saw Man on The Moon's trailer. Anyways, did anybody see the Man On The Moon commercial last night during the Saturday Night Live 25th? It was great cause we saw some footage of the real Andy doing the Mighty Mouse bit on SNL during the special, and then later we see the commercial, which was Jim as Andy doing the Mighty Mouse bit on SNL. The trailer is cool, but after I saw this I now know that Jim Carrey IS Andy Kaufman.(actually, at first I didn't know it was a commercial, I thought it was a bit Jim was doing for the aniversity show.) Will we get to see this on-line somewhere soon? Harry, get to it!

    easy now,keep it together!

    by kp

WOW! hand sare shaking ever so slightly here so lets just try to keep it in perspective.Okay on a basic level I know that even as an action pic this should be exceptional, the battle scene's are vivid(we all know about the entire stuntman contingent striking over just how intense they were getting thanks to the on set reports)and even at the trailer level I'm engaged with charachters who interest me.I also know I have no problem with Mr Besson visually as he always (and still) engages the eye effortlessly.Supporting cast...intruiging,malkovitch as delicious as ever, the only nagging doubt is of course the missing Reno and Oldman but when you have back-up as good as this who cares? It's a subject close to every frenchmans heart and by all accounts a passionate telling.I'm ready Luc,do it to me again...like when enzo drifts into the blue,Nikita opens her present or Leon smiles, dazed, oblivious just feet from the sun.I want to clench my fist in anger/joy and have my heart broken all in the same movie.C'mon man you've never let me down before..one more time...
