Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the first trailer for Edgar Wright's adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's SCOTT PILGRIM books. Finally! I got to stop by the set last year and got a glimpse at the insanity of the world, but as you can see in the trailer below so much of the energy and quirkiness of the world comes from editing and post-production stuff, like the THWAP!!!s and people turning into coins and things. I love it in the books, I love Edgar as a director, but I've been insanely curious to see just how all that translates into a new medium, if at all. From the trailer, which is essentially a fast-cut introduction to the concept of a dweebish guy having to defeat the 7 evil exes of his true love, I think he's on the right track to finding that balance of what worked in the book and what works on the screen. Of course, we won't know until we've seen the final product, but now we know the feel of the world. That combined with the insanely positive test screening reviews we've been getting for the past few months has me extremely excited to see this thing!
