Congats to MAD MEN winners @dmcal, @WriterDaniel, @movielover55 @Steve2teh0h & @kevinmfield. Send your shipping addresses & phone numbers to herculesAICN@yahoo.com!

I am – Hercules!!

In celebration of my first decade overseeing Ain’t It Cool’s TV section, we are giving away TV box sets every Monday.

All you have to do is:

1) “Follow” me on Twitter.

2) Constantly monitor my Twitter account between noon and 6 p.m. Pacific Time Monday, March 22. At some point during this window I will post a question on my Twitter account. FIVE of the first readers to correctly answer this question via Twitter (AFTER I pose it via Twitter) will get his or her own copy of Mad Men: The Complete Third Season on DVD.

IMPORTANT!! The question will begin with “MMQ.” That stands for “Mad Men Question.”

IMPORTANT!! Your Twittered answer MUST begin with @hercAICN. Don’t screw this up!

IMPORTANT!! If you answer the question BEFORE I post the question in Twitter you will be automatically disqualified.

IMPORTANT!! This contest is only available to residents of the United States.

IMPORTANT!! If you win, immediately forward Herc your shipping address and phone number: herculesAICN@yahoo.com. If you fail to do so within 24 hours, Herc will assign the prize to another.

Even if you’re a giant loser this week, look for more supercool prizing in the coming days and weeks.

I will update this post after the winner wins.

    DVD?

    by frenchbastard03

People still watch magnificently beautiful shows such as Mad Men on that fuzzy mess? Blu ray was made for shows like Mad Men. Shameful. I'll just splurge on the set myself. Contest smontest.

Their giveaways are much better, none of this Twitter crap, just give em your name and email address and that's that, good luck. Now on a totally unrelated sidenote: new Gorillaz album is brilliant.

    by punto

how hard is it to write an address on an envelope that is from outside the united states?

also, have people been reading your mind and answering questions before you post them? it sounds like it's been a big problem

It's About Contest Laws and Shit Punto

    by crow3711

It's just a lot more complicated to give things away to other countries. There are contest laws and all sorts of things that go into it. Not that hes too lazy to write a foreign address. Go learn something.

Also, he used to give the question out ahead of time and then make us wait until he officially posted it to answer. Now he doesn't give the question ahead of time, so that line is unnecessary now, but you don't have to be such a smarmy prick about everything.

I doubt it has anything to do with laws

    by punto

if it did, there'd be 5 paragraphs of legal fine print attached to the announcement. in fact, if you're worried about getting sued, the last thing you want to do is involve residents of the US in it (and they'll still sue you, just because).

    Wrong

    by crow3711

"Contest law varies even more between different countries. If you were to open up a contest to people all over the world, you would have to research the law in every single country on earth, to avoid getting yourself in legal trouble. For a typical promotional contest, this is just too much work. The legal fees for the required research would be much more than the payoff of the promotion. Additionally, there are some problematic legal questions inherent in any international contest. For example, if something were to go wrong, -- say, the prize was lost in shipping -- what court would the contest winner go to? It would be a very tough legal question just figuring out who had jurisdiction. "

    Facts.

Crow3711, You can't simply put quotes around your argument

    by big jim

and call them facts. It would help if you noted the source of your quote. This site often does contests that are open to other countries. I personally won something from Hercules (granted, it was about 5 years ago so it is possible the laws have changed or there's been a crack-down on this site since then). If the "US Only" rule is a legal one, or one being forced upon Hercules, I'd guess it comes from running the contest through Twitter. In other words, the restriction is Twitter's, not AICN's. punto, for non-US winners Hercules might have to fill out international shipping forms or pay the added cost of any additional shipping duties for international or cross-border addresses. There's more to it than figuring out the difference between a Zip Code and Postal Code or having to add an extra line to the address to include the country name.

i am a huge fan of MadMen and would love to own this collection. well...id love to WIN this Collection. why do i have to have Twitter in order to do so?
i object to Twitter on principles, i understand that its a new and very easy way to conduct a contest like this but i find it kind of unfair. thats all.

Possibly the most mind boggling invention since the chia pet. Although considering the amount of selfishness in the world maybe it's not so mind boggling.
