Not a fan of "douchebag with a heart of gold" characters. There are some funny gags, but the show itself is as smarmy and arrogant as the main character. The Glee crack was a good example; even if you don't like Glee, you must be pretty far up your own ass not to see its appeal.

Glee is way darker than given credit

    by mrgray

The pace is all wrong and I was starting to get pissed about them holding off the competition so long, but Glee continues to win me over for 3 reasons: 1) Great traces of Election-esque subtle black humor. I'm guessing that a number of people who claim to hate it have either never watched it or watched the 15 minutes they deemed necessary to confirm their prejudgment. 2) Jane Fucking Lynch. She is amazing on that show and is sorely missed when episodes don't feature her in some way. 3) Lea Michelle. I might consider converting for her, even if it meant giving up bacon.

    I enjoy these shows

    by kevinmuller

Community= The show is just so damn funny and the cast works so well together. I expect to see Chevy Chase's name on every ballot next year. He owns this show, he is great. Parks= Not a carbon copy of the office. I first thought that also, but it has really become its own. Yes, it uses the same style of shooting, but that is where the similarity ends. The romance in the show is not the main focus of the show like on the Office. The only thing I will give the haters is that Poehler does resemble Michael Scott as far as the way she behaves. The Office= Still love this show. The cast makes me come back every week. Sure, its glory days are past, but I still enjoy watching it. 30 Rock= I think this is a hilarious show. I am always amazed who they get for guest stars. Michael Sheen was on last night, along with Banks (who is getting hotter with each appearance)

    by sifodyasjr.

I can't think of one. Maybe Friends when it first started. Parks and Rec is enjoyable, and every other episode is strong, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything if I don't watch it. Last night also gave me some hope that there is life still left in The Office. The Megadesk gag was the type of thing I want to see more of, and less Pam and Jim marriage/baby drama.

from the same mockumentary syndrome as The Orrrffice and, i'm guessing Community (though to be fair, i havent seen a Community episode yet, sars). the characters arent sympathetic italics-enough. do they make us want to care?
sure amy pohler has beautifully emotive doe-eyes, i'm just tired of my shows breaking the fourth wall with the "interview/confessional/private-moment." that shite peaked with Real World I and Waiting For Guffman.
30Rock is different and succeeds, it's still a damn funny italics-sit-com, not a connie-chung-"between-you-and-me" documentary.

    Tip for The Office:

    by cheif brody

What made Michael Scott fun to watch for me in the early seasons was....sure, he was a baffoon, said and did incredibly inappropriate things, made a complete ass of himself every 2 seconds...but...
Every ONCE in a while...he actually DID HIS JOB. He closed a huge sale, or got SOMETHING accomplished that benefited the company...but, more importantly, VALIDATED why he gets to sit in the big chair.
I am just getting tired of watching him get himself into messes (no matter how truly inspired they are) when TPTB don't give me a reason WHY he's the boss in the first place.
Last night they had an excellent opportunity to show Michael actually doing something...ANYTHING!!...that would have impressed Kathy Bates sitting in the conference room next door...thus validating why he felt it was right to let his staff leave and enjoy St. Patty's Day.
Nope. He just sat in his office and did nothing...and when called on it by Bates...he had nuthin to back it up. TPTB need to give Michael moments that let us know he's not just a pathetic waste of space.
Not every episode....but once in a while. I can only watch a bumbling idiot for so long before I lose interest. As great as Carrell is in his portrayal, his character has become severely 'one dimensional'.
"Parks" was great last nite. "Community" was superb. "Office" was uneven (altho glad to see Darrell got an upgrade). And "30 Rock" was just ok.

    by ryanbraun14

season 2, a consistently funny show you can count on making you laugh a few times an episode. The difference with this season is why its gotten so good: Ron is awesome. I love how jerry has gone from background character to the super nice guy that they just torture ruthlessly. But the BIG improvement is obvious to me: Andy. He is hilarious (introduces himself to the prankster's fake mom as an FBI agent. fake mom says she's going to report them to each of their bosses and says 'i don't know who your boss is' and andy immediately responds 'the president of the united states of america.') i love it. You suckered me into watching P&R on hulu thinking something was going to happen, but nope, just another episode. Also, do the creators of Office/Parks & Rec think having characters quietly pine to be in a relationship is a necessary sitcom element? Its a little silly at this point, they introduce some character sweetly pining for another character, when that gets resolved, they just pick two other characters and start all over again.

    Jesus Christ, Community fans?!

    by pzadvance

Anybody who finds Community (FUCKING COMMUNITY?!?!??!) to be a more well-written, funnier show that Parks and Recreation is a tasteless fucking nutsack who should keep to their Two and a Half Men forums and stop butting in on the adults who have more substantial programs to discuss. Parks has transcended its awful carbon copy beginnings to become the funniest show on NBC, while Community is fooling itself if it thinks it can holds its own agains the other Thursday night programs. Even The Office, in its fast descent into utter tedium, consistently tops this painfully unfunny show that lays on thick its message of friendship and "you-don't-gotta-be-cool-to-be-cool" afterschool-special bullshit week in and week out.

You morons who think this "worst-allegedly-funny-program-this-side-of-Scrubs" bullshit is better than Parks ought to be ashamed and go get their heads checked. While we're at it, King of Queens or Arrested Development, fucktards?
