That was just awesome. What a great show!
-
And I tried...I really did try to like it.
-
considering it's still an hour an 10 from airing i doubt anyone has
-
-- My roommate and I made that crazy thing last Friday and now it's appearing all over the place.
One of the Parks/Rec writers even "tweeted" at us that Poehler likes it :) -
They are even causing me to watch "The Office." Wish I had seen Office from the beginning, I can tell without even having any context that it is on the downswing.

Am I insane to think Amy Poehler is insanely attractive??
by carmillavondoom
Have LOVED her ever since I saw her in UPRIGHT CITIZENS BRIGADE. If you haven't seen it get it NOW!!!! I might even break down and watch "Baby Mama" she is so great.
-
That Jabba thing was funnier than anything in the last year and a half on on the snoozefest that is Parks & Recreation.
-
And I think it is getting better. It is in the same mocumentary style as The Office, but this change is refreshing. Except for The Big Bang Theory, all old style sitcoms with canned laughter are crap.
-
"How's the trade embargo with Naboo?" El Tigre just *killed* me.

I don't know if you guys are watching Community right now...
by dapper swindler
But it just cured my 20 years of impotence.

Am I insane to think Jabba the Hutt is insanely attractive??
by dapootieman
Have LOVED him ever since I saw him in RETURN OF THE JEDI. If you haven't seen it get it NOW!!! I might even break down and watch "Episode One" he is so great.
-
sooooo fucking funny!!!!! where's the love??
-
was the funniest Community bit of the series yet! Holy shit, I laughed my ass of at that...
-
I don't understand the appeal at all.
-
Word, brother. I don't get it either. They sure are strengthening the bonds of friendship on this show. Everyone has everyone's back & nothing is TMI.
There'll be fighting soon. -
when he was cutting through and smushed it into the ground!
-
"It's on my neck, it's on my neck."
-
I haven't seen so many popular ideas worked into one concept since Twilight. Both are shit of course. But it should be easy to understand why others like them.
-
Leslie & April were just too cute tonight.
-
of NBC's Thursday night sitcom lineup, but this year's lineup *is* the best NBC has had in years. I can watch from 8 to 10 now without wanting to change the channel.
-
And I fell hard. She's great in this.
-
Ron Fucking Swanson
-
If one does not like a show, why would they watch a year and a half worth of episodes? To each his own, but I agree with ?uestlove; "Parks and Recreation is the Wu Tang of comedy."
-
Amy Poehler is practically screaming to the audience give me an Emmy every episode. I mean what does she have to do that she hasn't already done on this show to prove her worth? The rest of the cast is pretty damn good too.
-
Parks and Rec is painful to watch.
-
They really need to pretty much eliminate everyone but Tom & Ron, they're the only consistently funny people on Parks & Rec.
-
been that way since midway thru season 1.
-
I resent when shit like this passes for awsome. Just a lame SW reference is all it takes to impress you fuckers? Do you not recognize cheap explotation when you see it? "Wow... it's Jabba" bitch pleez.. now if it were Admiral Akbar, then that'd be a different story
-
"Aren't those them there?"
"No."
"Brett!"
"Yeah?"
"Dude!" -
Yeah, the animal control guys were funny :)
-
glad your friends are writers on the show but it sucks
-
Show has seriously found its groove and is funny as hell.
-
Fuck, we're screwed!
-
...even when it's not a particularly strong episode (like tonight's). It was certainly better than Parks and Recreation, which is impossible to watch beyond the first minute or so. Totally forced, obvious and unfunny.
-
I gotta admit, damned funny this week. So was Community.
-
Not a fan of "douchebag with a heart of gold" characters. There are some funny gags, but the show itself is as smarmy and arrogant as the main character. The Glee crack was a good example; even if you don't like Glee, you must be pretty far up your own ass not to see its appeal.
-
is it just me or is 30 Rock now the most forgettable of the nbc Thursday block? Not even bad the way a lot of Office eps have been this year, I just cant remember which configuration of events from the Big Book of 30 Rock Happenings occurred as soon as the ep ends. Community and Parks were great tonight. The Ron Swanson Code.
-
Shouldn't that already go down in the greatest moment in television history?
-
That was great, but you do know she's naked in a film, right?
-
The pace is all wrong and I was starting to get pissed about them holding off the competition so long, but Glee continues to win me over for 3 reasons: 1) Great traces of Election-esque subtle black humor. I'm guessing that a number of people who claim to hate it have either never watched it or watched the 15 minutes they deemed necessary to confirm their prejudgment. 2) Jane Fucking Lynch. She is amazing on that show and is sorely missed when episodes don't feature her in some way. 3) Lea Michelle. I might consider converting for her, even if it meant giving up bacon.
-
That was Figgins himself guest starring as Abed's dad. I love Glee, but the line itself and the delivery made it hilarious.
-
Loved his code and the thumbs up he gave Mark after he saw the canoe in his office.
-
Thanks!
-
Parks is much funnier and much smarter. Community is a little trite and obvious sometimes. But still funny most of the time, and Community does have inspired moments.
-
This season has kicked ass.
-
Yeah, nothing says smart comedy like a bunch of people chasing a possum. That's as cerebral as it gets. Hi-larious.
-
as i live in the UK, so just checked out clips and trailers on youtube and really want to see more of Community. Parks & Recreation not so much, which seems to be a spin off of a remake of that Ricky Gervais show.
-
Community= The show is just so damn funny and the cast works so well together. I expect to see Chevy Chase's name on every ballot next year. He owns this show, he is great. Parks= Not a carbon copy of the office. I first thought that also, but it has really become its own. Yes, it uses the same style of shooting, but that is where the similarity ends. The romance in the show is not the main focus of the show like on the Office. The only thing I will give the haters is that Poehler does resemble Michael Scott as far as the way she behaves. The Office= Still love this show. The cast makes me come back every week. Sure, its glory days are past, but I still enjoy watching it. 30 Rock= I think this is a hilarious show. I am always amazed who they get for guest stars. Michael Sheen was on last night, along with Banks (who is getting hotter with each appearance)
-
The clip.
-
Troy crying as Britta got spanked made it even more hysterical.
-
Wow!
-
I can't think of one. Maybe Friends when it first started. Parks and Rec is enjoyable, and every other episode is strong, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything if I don't watch it. Last night also gave me some hope that there is life still left in The Office. The Megadesk gag was the type of thing I want to see more of, and less Pam and Jim marriage/baby drama.
-
This lame clone of The Office, which itself has already run out of gas in my opinion, doesn't entice me in the slightest. I watched once. Chuckled lightly once during that experience. Never went back.
-
nice shout out to ELP by the way.
-
agreed, the tone of the show has changed and I find myself wanting to watch Parks and Rec and the Office more then 30 Rock.
-
Now I can't get this out of my head. I found it funny. Maybe because I can relate to the creator. When I hear "Four Sticks" by Led Zeppelin, my mental lyrics are "Bert and Er-nie, Bert and Er-nie, Bert and Er-nie, Bert and Er-nie"
-
For me the whole show is Annie, Abed and Jeff. The other characters have their moments though, I like Abed's bits with Troy at the end- hilarious. Great stuff. My favorite comedy right now.
-
Seriously now
-
from the same mockumentary syndrome as The Orrrffice and, i'm guessing Community (though to be fair, i havent seen a Community episode yet, sars). the characters arent sympathetic italics-enough. do they make us want to care?
sure amy pohler has beautifully emotive doe-eyes, i'm just tired of my shows breaking the fourth wall with the "interview/confessional/private-moment." that shite peaked with Real World I and Waiting For Guffman.
30Rock is different and succeeds, it's still a damn funny italics-sit-com, not a connie-chung-"between-you-and-me" documentary.
thank god none of these show have laugh tracks. -
As much as I love Community there is no relationship on that as good as Leslie's and Rons. For everyone ragging on it have you missed the entire second season when it became so much better. Smart, funny, and believable.
-
The hunting episode was one of the best 1/2 hours I've seen on TV in a long time. And Ron winning "Women of The Year" was a fab way to pull Leslie's head out of the clouds for a moment.
-
Watched the movie 'Choke' this last weekend... the woman who plays Britta is in it. Check it out, you won't be disapointed.
-
And I was terribly disappointed, actually
-
Is Amy expecting again? How are they going to hide that? She is the lead of the show. Maybe broken legs ala Andy season one? Maybe it won't be noticeable and she will deliver during hiatus. Is Amy preggers?
-
Yeah, what about it?
-
Britta playing a stripper was great.
-
What made Michael Scott fun to watch for me in the early seasons was....sure, he was a baffoon, said and did incredibly inappropriate things, made a complete ass of himself every 2 seconds...but...
Every ONCE in a while...he actually DID HIS JOB. He closed a huge sale, or got SOMETHING accomplished that benefited the company...but, more importantly, VALIDATED why he gets to sit in the big chair.
I am just getting tired of watching him get himself into messes (no matter how truly inspired they are) when TPTB don't give me a reason WHY he's the boss in the first place.
Last night they had an excellent opportunity to show Michael actually doing something...ANYTHING!!...that would have impressed Kathy Bates sitting in the conference room next door...thus validating why he felt it was right to let his staff leave and enjoy St. Patty's Day.
Nope. He just sat in his office and did nothing...and when called on it by Bates...he had nuthin to back it up. TPTB need to give Michael moments that let us know he's not just a pathetic waste of space.
Not every episode....but once in a while. I can only watch a bumbling idiot for so long before I lose interest. As great as Carrell is in his portrayal, his character has become severely 'one dimensional'.
"Parks" was great last nite. "Community" was superb. "Office" was uneven (altho glad to see Darrell got an upgrade). And "30 Rock" was just ok.
-
...gonna have to rewatch it then...and that was the 1st book i read turned crap i mean movie...
-
chewing on his mustache..visual comedy gold. Whats funny is that The Office and 30 Rock were my Thursday night favorites, and there being replaced by the Community/P & R block.
-
They're turning Baldwin into a cartoon and Fey into a freak. At this point, Tracy is the last truly funny thing on the show.
-
Thanks Herc, for the recommendation. The show keeps getting better and it's become one of my favorites that I look forward to seeing when it's on. I see many geeks here saying that Community is good. I guess I'll have to check that one out too. Also, thanks internet for pointing me at 'Human Target'. That's a good new show too.
-
season 2, a consistently funny show you can count on making you laugh a few times an episode. The difference with this season is why its gotten so good: Ron is awesome. I love how jerry has gone from background character to the super nice guy that they just torture ruthlessly. But the BIG improvement is obvious to me: Andy. He is hilarious (introduces himself to the prankster's fake mom as an FBI agent. fake mom says she's going to report them to each of their bosses and says 'i don't know who your boss is' and andy immediately responds 'the president of the united states of america.') i love it. Andy pouncing on the possum was hilarious.
-
"Aren't those them there?"
"No."
"Brett!"
"Yeah?"
"Dude!"
you left out: "How'd you know my name is Brett?" -
You suckered me into watching P&R on hulu thinking something was going to happen, but nope, just another episode. Also, do the creators of Office/Parks & Rec think having characters quietly pine to be in a relationship is a necessary sitcom element? Its a little silly at this point, they introduce some character sweetly pining for another character, when that gets resolved, they just pick two other characters and start all over again.
-
hilarious meme. effin infectious.
-
Bring back Earl!
-
Anybody who finds Community (FUCKING COMMUNITY?!?!??!) to be a more well-written, funnier show that Parks and Recreation is a tasteless fucking nutsack who should keep to their Two and a Half Men forums and stop butting in on the adults who have more substantial programs to discuss. Parks has transcended its awful carbon copy beginnings to become the funniest show on NBC, while Community is fooling itself if it thinks it can holds its own agains the other Thursday night programs. Even The Office, in its fast descent into utter tedium, consistently tops this painfully unfunny show that lays on thick its message of friendship and "you-don't-gotta-be-cool-to-be-cool" afterschool-special bullshit week in and week out.
You morons who think this "worst-allegedly-funny-program-this-side-of-Scrubs" bullshit is better than Parks ought to be ashamed and go get their heads checked. While we're at it, King of Queens or Arrested Development, fucktards?
