..with a cute, fun, but time-consuming diversion for those who unable to beat down their TRON LEGACY shakes (like me).
A viral game has gone online through which you can win your personalized ENCOM access badge (with your picture on it!) All you gotta do is identify the 56 video games hinted at in a scrollable graphic that looks like this:
If you correctly identify all 56 games in the puzzle, you'll be prompted to enter your contact information, upload a photo, and proof your ENCOM ID.
The heads-up on this come to us from THIS post at First Showing.

Harry saved my ass on this one - and I understand it took him a while to work through it himself. I consider myself reasonably well-versed in video game lore, but there were a few titles in this puzzle that I was completely unaware of. So, unless you're encyclopedic about the history and characters of video games, this could be something of a workout. A cool one, though...
With this out of the way, I'll now go back to re-watching that new TRON LEGACY trailer. Must...stop...can't...stop...

I have Call of Duty, Burgertime, Star Fox, Donkey Konga, Punch-Out, Burnout, Tiger Heli, Guitar Hero, Golden Axe, NBA Jam, Frogger, Dragon Ball Z (Um, not really a video game but ok), Balloon Fight, Silent Hill, Metal Slug, Mouse Trap, Dig Dug, Tron, Discs of Tron, Minesweeper, Fallout, Flower... that's it.

Turns out you're right, MarvinMartian. Never heard of that game. Also just found STARGATE, which is an awful visual clue - had to get help from a friend there. I also kept thinking the clock ripped in half was "Half-Minute Hero"... but no, just realized it's TIME SPLITTERS. Great series.

I think anyone who plays this was planning on seeing the film anyway. But it's still awesome. Some of the game titles were a bit too outside the box, like Star(Bill)Gate(s). That one was pretty stupid.

Solved all 50 game names. Donkey Konga, Spy hunter and Discs of Tron gave me the most trouble. kept punching in "disc" and Kong. Hope I got in time. ::::Fingers crossed::::

I thought I knew alot of vidjagames, having lived through their nascent rise to cultural prominance during the 80s, enhancement during the 90s, and SuperAwesomeNextGens of the 00s, but I have NO IDEA what most of these guys are from.Oh, and as a side note, I'm giddy as a digital schoolgirl about T20N. I still remember seeing it for the first time in the theatre when I was a kid. The new trailer looks insanely awesome. It's pretty much the only thing I'm excited about moviewise in 2010. Wish it was coming out this summer!
